He painstakingly refurbished them, replacing the heel and every other component that showed any sign of deterioration. He featured my shoes in one of his latest videos. Rarely do you see such a wondrous piece of art. I'll have these shoes for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, Steve and Bedo's Leatherworks.

I honestly feel very disappointed with the work done on my belt. As you can see from the pictures,…read morethis is how my belt looks after the "reconditioning" service. Really? I paid $60 and waited approximately one week, only to receive my belt back looking almost exactly the same as when I dropped it off. When I brought the belt to the shop, I specifically explained that I wanted the **color of the leather to be evened out** and the leather properly reconditioned. The man assured me that he understood what I wanted and that he would take care of it. However, when I picked it up, the color was still uneven, and I could barely see any difference in the condition or appearance of the leather. This is not an ordinary $100 belt. It is a collectible belt worth more than $1,000, which is exactly why I was willing to pay $60 for professional restoration and trusted your shop with it. When I picked it up, I was told that the belt might not look different but they had applied a water repellent spray. I paid for the belt to be reconditioned and improved in appearance, not simply sprayed with water repellent. I can purchase a similar spray for around $10 at Walmart and apply it myself at home. I feel that I did not receive the service I paid for. If the shop could not even out the leather color or achieve the result I requested, I believe I should have been told that before the work was performed. I am very disappointed and honestly feel like I was scammed out of $60. I expected professional workmanship. Edited Note: I will not bring the belt back to the shop or waste another week waiting for additional work. Quite honestly, this workmanship is a shame and extremely disappointing and to whoever responded to my review, if you come back to read this, please tell me what you think--how does it look to you? When you said you tried to do your best.. Ps. The scratches on leather was not there when I dropped it off but appears after work done.

She took the clog, said shoe polish won't fix it, and proceeded to buff it, eventually smoothing off the scuff. I was expecting at least some charge for the service, and she waved me off, saying that's ok. Made my day! I promised to return there when I have a real shoe problem. Thank you, kind lady!

However, I want to flag a pricing issue for others. Before bringing in the items, I called and was quoted approximately $7-$10 per pair. At drop-off, the pricing presented was $22-$30 per pair. I raised the discrepancy immediately, but was told the prior quote was incorrect and no adjustment or accommodation was offered. I proceeded given the number of items already in hand, but followed up again afterward and was not able to reach a resolution. If you plan to use this shop, I would strongly recommend confirming pricing in writing before proceeding, particularly for multiple items. Sharing this so others can make informed decisions.

Unfortunately, this experience raised a serious customer service concern. When I dropped off my shoes, I specifically asked how long the repairs would take. Both the gentleman working at the front desk and Pete told me they would be ready in one week. After eight days, I called because I was leaving town and needed the shoes for my trip. I was then told that the standard turnaround time was actually one and a half to two weeks. Had I been quoted that timeframe when I dropped them off, I would not have left the shoes because I knew I needed them before my trip. When I returned to town, I stopped by the store to pick them up. The gentleman at the front desk immediately asked whether I was the person who had called. When I confirmed that I was, he responded, "Well, your shoes were ready last week." His tone was unnecessary and dismissive. I explained that the shoes were supposed to be ready by Wednesday, based on the timeframe I was originally given, and that I had been out of town since Thursday. There are several cobblers who repair high-end and designer shoes. I have continued choosing Pete, not because he is the least expensive, but because he consistently does excellent work. I am happy with the repairs to both pairs of shoes, but the quality of the customer service at the front desk does not reflect the quality of Pete's craftsmanship. I have referred several friends to Pete for repairs to their designer shoes and bags because I trusted both his work and the service I had previously received. Unfortunately, based solely on this interaction with the front-desk employee, I am now apprehensive about returning and will likely need to look elsewhere for future repairs. That is genuinely disappointing after years of being a satisfied customer.
