The owner, Wilfred, is quite petty and rude. I own a good number of shoes made by company X. For a variety of reasons I always have company X handle significant repairs and I have local businesses clean clean my shoes as such isn't offered by comparing X. When dropping off shoes for cleaning he said no problem to cleaning and proceeded to further inspect my shoes. He point out damage with a couple of pairs and asked if I wanted those repaired. I explained the relationship that I had with company X for repairs, but that I'd still like to have the non-damaged shoes cleaned by him. This is where things went south. He made some passing remark that surely company X can clean all of my shoes for me. I thought that I had misheard and said that I would like to still have the shoes cleaned by him, but then he doubled down on the comment. In other words he was suggesting that if I don't want to give him all of my business that I shouldn't give him any of my business. I was quite surprised because I had only been polite with him and up front that I simply wanted my shoes cleaned - a service that they offer. What he didn't realize - not that it really matters - is that company X doesn't offer shoe cleaning. I've never had this issue with any other shoe repair business before in my life. I received beautiful Sam Edelman boots for Christmas. I put them on and I almost cried they were so narrow and painful. I have very skinny feet, so it was too much. Luckily, I read reviews and found here. To stretch them cost $35 and I can come back 3 times if I need them adjusted in any way. The ladies were super kind and my boots were ready in two days - just in time for my NYE! My boots were so perfect with the first adjustment that I wore them out the store. I've been going to this place for years. It Is a family operation and literally everyone on staff has a hand in the repair process so everyone is knowledgeable. It isn't cheap but you also get what you pay for and their work is higher quality than anywhere else I have tried. No challenge is to great and they will work at it until the thing is fixed, whatever it is. Most of the work I have had done there involved getting new soles on shoes I had worn down, but at one point I had a pair with neon orange accents and the repair involved building back up the part of the shoe with the accent and the woman who worked on it had to custom mix the orange color. She told me it took forever, but she got there. I have also had them do minor repairs on a vintage Fendi and punch new holes in my Gucci Marmont belt and everything comes back like new. read more

I took a vintage leather bag in for restoration and paid over $100. When I picked it up, it honestly looked worse than when I dropped it off. I didn't inspect the bag until I was in the parking lot, when I returned to question them about unpolished spots and tape residue, they just said there wasn't anything they could do. They were also asked to clean the interior, which it appears they didn't touch at all. I would have appreciated that overview of the issues when I picked up the bag, rather than having to go back and ask about it. Will experiment with some basic cleaning steps at home to see if I can get better results. Updated: Spent 5 mins with baking soda paste and got the residue off. Took the bag back to show them and they refused to give me any sort of discount. read more

I am so beyond happy with their work, can't i give them 10 STARS instead? There were many options to ship my shoes to another state like New York or Chicago for Christian Louboutin shoe repairs. Instead, I'm thrilled to find such an amazing place locally between work and home. First off, my beloved red bottoms have been with me for over 4 years now and I wear them everywhere between day and night, from work to nights out. So they have been through a lot. My red soles were worn off, the tabs at the bottom were gone and steel was exposed. Even the red laminate was peeling off at the heel. For such a coveted and expensive pair, you can see how sad it would be to replace just one pair. Best Foot Forward repaired both shoes pairs of CL within a week and did an amazing job. It feels like Christmas again with two brand new pairs of CL! The red rubber soles are dyed all the way through so you never lose the famous red bottoms even after walking across hard wood, asphalt, concrete, you name it. It is also such an amazing grip on tiles so I feel like I walk better with them then without them. Thank you so much! I had the absolute worse experience with this place! I dropped off a pair of shoes in March. They have had a pair of ysl shoes for the past 5 months. I went to the store nearly two weeks ago 8/1 and the lady at the front took over 30 minutes to find my shoes. When she found them the shoes were not worked on. The shoes were found in a bag in a cabinet in the back after she had to call another young lady on the phone to find my shoes. I asked her to see my shoes to check the status and have a look at them and the shoes looked as if they'd been placed to the side and forgot about. The young lady agreed that it should not have taken that long for them to repair a shoe. I went to the store on a Tuesday. She told me the shoes would be ready by the upcoming Friday and that I'd get a call. It is now 8/11/23 and no one has called or left and messages or emails about my shoes. I waited 5 months for my shoes. So, today, I called the store and asked for the manager or supervisor. Wilford, who explained he's the shop owner told me that it's a long process to fix shoes. That's understandable, but 5 months is egregious! I asked my a refund for the inconvenience and lies told to me and was told by Wilford, no! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!! If the shoe could be fixed in three days why did it take over 5 months?! I urge you not to spend your money at this establishment if you plan to wear your shoes anytime soon. I wouldn't give any stars to this place!! Horrible customer service, lack of understanding and consideration! As you can also see, the date the shoe was supposed to be ready was a few days after I initially dropped them off in March! I have used them several times over many years, given them referrals, and even gave them a good review online. They always had good customer service. I had a shoe that needed a dot of glue at the tip because the sole was beginning to separate from the shoe. It would only take one minute to put on some glue but they weren't willing to do it. There wasn't even any other customers in the store, but they wanted me to leave the shoe and come back another time. In the past they would punch a hole in your belt or do a quick repair that only took one or two minutes while you wait. For some reason they aren't willing to do that anymore so I feel like their customer service isn't as good. read more

First, let me NOT waste your time and brain power by dragging this on......THEY ARE AMAZING! Second, the owner of the shop is the most gracious and friendly person I've met.... I would keep going....but I can't choose between third and thirdly....so I'll just tell you what I had done. I needed to revive a pair of my favorite Christian Louboutins. Trust me when I say, they had seen better days! When I came in I wanted the Vibram sole added to a sandal and a pump. He has several replacement soles, to include Vibram, but he showed me this new anti slip technology and it was AMAZING and super sleek so I described to go with that one. I also needed taps replaced on the suede ones, because someone had done a bad job before....he actually has the Louboutin sized taps!!! So they fit perfectly! I'm so glad I came here. He not only revived my fav shoes, by cleaning the suede, added two new taps, which makes them look brand new! read more

One update, they aren't skilled at installing French tips on dress shoes. I took one pair in I'd started myself. Because I'd gotten them close to flush, this pair came out OK. But, they used nails rather than screws that come with Lulu French tips. The nails were not flush and scratched the floor. I took in a second pair and asked that they use screws, or at make the nails (they won't do screws, oddly) flush. They got the nails flush, but the French tips were on top of the soles instead of embedded. They claimed the soles would come apart if they cut into the soles more. (They wouldn't if the screws were used.) I took them elsewhere to undo the work they'd done. Disappointed. They're good with everything else. read more

I've been here before to bring some dress shoes to have bottom and taps put on. I got a pair of sneakers from Goat that were new + defects. The photos of the two defects were pictured so I knew if I had a good shoe repair place they could easily repair it. On one of the tongues the logo tag was not even sewn on. Not sewn and came loose but literally not sewn on. These shoes originally were only released in europe so they carry a Hefty resale price. I wear my shoes so I knew eventually they would be worn. I brought it to them and I was greeted with a smile. The young lady at the front desk immediately gave me an extremely fair quote and I picked it up the same day. Best Foot Forward saved my brand-new Kate Spade bag, and I couldn't be happier: while sitting on a train in Boston, I put it in between the window and my coat, where the bottom half of one side rubbed against whatever filthy strip of rubber is between the seats and the window. Dark spots of something dotted the front of my beautiful new bag, and a hot pink bag with weird brown spots wasn't exactly the look I was going for. Since planes, trains and automobiles seem to have me all over between DC and Boston these days, I looked to Yelp and brought it to BFF, hoping for the best. I disclosed my mistake (in a moment of desperation, I thought I could "help" by cleaning it myself with leather cleaner) so I had already put that on one small area. The nice owner looked at it, gave it some thought, and at first said due to the color of the leather (it is a deep, dark hot pink) he was worried it might not work.... but then the lightbulb went off in his head, he pulled out something from the back, did a little something and then said "yes, I can fix this". His nice daughter gave me a receipt, and I went back yesterday to pick it up. PERFECTION. It looked just as it did when I took it out of the box 6 weeks ago, and I also now have all-over protection on it, since I clearly need it. What was also perfect was that I walked over to pick it up on a beautiful spring day and had the Beloved Goldendoodle with me. While an otherwise adequate shoe repiar shop, I recently stopped into the store early in the a.m. to an otherwise empty store to just get some metal taps put on a pair of new shoes. (A job that takes 5 minutes!). The sole employee on duty advised that I could stop back tomorrow to pick them up. I said I would like to wait for them if possible, it only takes a couple of minutes.....He advised I could come back in a couple of hours... Seriously?????
