A memory care was promised, and never once has there been any sort of memory care for my dad. They heavily sedated him on mood stabilizers to make his dementia episodes not so bad, and refuse to follow up with protocol. Laundry was promised yet his clothes are always dirty. His teethe have always been his main priority and they are rapidly decaying. His hair was never cut and his toenails never clipped because the promised pediatrist never came. They give you the wrong meds, not all your meds, sometimes no meds bc someone took the one key home; Aides - 99% of the "care" is handled by them and most are lazy and that's if you get someone to respond to your call light in under an hour; Dietary - if you have special needs, even just diabetes, they cannot/will not accommodate you - the head guy admitted to never hearing of the ADA diet! I appreciate being reached out to by someone representing the facility. The resident's families need to be heard and their concerns taken seriously and addressed. I know it was only a pizza but theft is theft, no matter what it is big or small. And for a facility to not even care to try to make an effort to call and rectify a problem was inexcusable. On her last Saturday afternoon, she got worse so the nurse left a message for the on-call doctor at 3 pm. As of the shift change at 7 pm, no doctor had responded. i stayed with my wife until she was discharged at 10 am the next morning. As far as I know the on-call doctor never responded. The nurse on that floor had to call EMS to transport another patient that night to the Emergency Room. My wife stayed at Carillon House for 35 days over a year ago but she will never go back.
