I was pleasantly surprised. The property was nice with a cool western / cowboy decor or theme. Every staff member I met was nice. My room was clean, specially and comfortable. Disappointed breakfast wasn't included but the breakfast menu was good and the waitress was extremely friendly despite being really busy. Also I forgot my phone in the room and drove down to Sierra Vista (1.5 hours away). I called the next morning and they had my brand new iPhone 17. I was extremely grateful for the team's integrity. read more

I would give the Leo Kent Minus Stars if I could. Worst experience ever. The people running this hotel are liars and cheats. We stayed there in May for our daughter's graduation from the UofA. This hotel fraudently charged us valet parking for a car we didn't even have. And while we have spent numerous HOURS on the phone with various Marriott personnel who have all assured us that they have refunded us, they never have. Either the most incompetent people ever or simply liars and cheats. And as the charges were fraudently put on our credit card to begin with, we are going with liars and cheats. Beware if you stay at this hotel and definitely check the charges on your bill before you leave. read more

This hotel was right at the beginning of the downtown area of Tucson and as beautiful as it can be. Some higher floors have majestic views from their windows of a growing city with major development throughout. The park across the street features a statue of the revolutionary Pancho Villa who was a hero to many in the 1800's. Our room was beautifully done and the staff as helpful and professional as expected. Valets were all helpful and fast. Definitely recommend a stay if you're looking for a cool place to stay. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would happily do so. For $800 a night, you might assume basic luxuries like sheets, hot water, and secure valet parking are included. How naïve of us. My friends and I booked this hotel to celebrate our birthday weekend, expecting a "luxury resort" experience based on the price and photos. In reality, it felt like a motel -- and I sincerely apologize to motels for the comparison. Upon arrival, we informed the front desk that we would need sheets and pillows for the pull-out bed. "No problem, they'll be delivered shortly," we were told. Great! We went up to our second-floor room (despite requesting a higher floor when booking), called again just to confirm, and were once again reassured. The sheets never arrived. Apparently "shortly" is a very flexible concept here. Next adventure: the shower. One of us tried to shower and was greeted with ice-cold water. We called downstairs and were advised to "let it run for 10 minutes." After sacrificing 10 minutes of our lives (and some dignity), we discovered the water heater was actually broken -- specifically on the second floor. Lucky us! Were we offered a different room? Of course not. Sleeping was another experience entirely. If you're placed on a lower floor, prepare for an all-night soundtrack of engines revving, cars starting, and general parking lot symphonies. It's like camping -- if camping cost $800 and came without hot water. The grand finale was valet. When I requested my car the next morning, I found a wide-open display of car keys sitting unattended by the front door -- like a self-serve "Take One" station. In what appears to be a higher-crime area, leaving an open inventory of car keys in plain sight seems... bold. We were also not informed that at night, employees may try opening your car doors to "make sure they're locked." Nothing says luxury birthday getaway like someone testing your door handles in the dark. Overall, don't expect good service, basic amenities, or peace of mind. Save your $800 and treat yourself somewhere that at least provides sheets. read more

Booked a one night stay for my fiancés birthday and the hotel itself was nice. Like most reviews--a bit pricey but expected. We booked here mostly for location--places we wanted to visit were all close by. Beds were comfy, pillows were nice. Big bathroom. Over all great. We did visit St. Cruz for some night cap cocktails at 10pm--this is where the disappointment occurred. We sat at a small table as the bar seating was full and no service for 15 minutes so my fiancé went up and waited in a line to order. Then someone finally came around and at least gave me a menu as our intent was to order a couple cocktails. Without seeing a menu my fiancé ordered me a Manhattan (not on the menu) and it was awful. My fiancé watched her make my cocktail that was mostly bourbon and just bitters (it was missing the vermouth) and boy was it bitter. We did not end up ordering more cocktails. We had seen their instagram and genuinely were excited to at least get a couple cocktails at our hotel but it was a big flop for us unfortunately. read more

I stayed at the Leo Kent for one night right after Christmas and happily provided a separate very good review for their restaurant, St. Cruz, but unfortunately I can't say as much for the hotel itself. I've gone back and forth between giving the hotel 2 or 3 stars--the higher score only because the staff working there are all lovely and very helpful. But I hate feeling ripped off, so ultimately I went with the 2. It's hard to keep track of the numerous chains and levels in the Marriott family, but in general the Tribute Portfolio hotels (of which the Leo Kent is one) are billed as independent boutique hotels, with the word "luxury" thrown around a lot. Design-wise, the Leo Kent is fine when you walk in--but also quite honestly pretty generic, like someone in corporate tossed the terms "boutique," "Southwest," and "urban" into an AI blender and came up with the design. Then they went to Target and bought the brushed-bronze wastebaskets and bathroom accessories to represent "upscale." (No knock on Target--that's where I get my stuff too! But please, Marriott Corp., don't think you're fooling anyone.) The in-room amenities are woefully lacking: the same bolted-to-the-wall shampoo/conditioner/body wash you can find at a Courtyard Marriott (I'd just stayed at a CM in Las Cruces over Xmas and honestly it was the same stuff); only $8-per-bottle water as an option (whereas the CM provided 2 free bottles); and absolutely nothing else. The coffeemaker was a joke: a cheapo little thing I couldn't even fit the tiny paper cup under, with one pathetic coffee option and a wrinkled bag of tea. Seriously? The CM had a better machine, multiple coffee and tea options, and ACTUAL CERAMIC CUPS to use, along with ACTUAL GLASSWARE in the room--also lacking here. Look, I'm a loyal Marriott customer and find value in both the Courtyard Marriott and Autograph portfolios, for different reasons. But this just felt like being punk'd by corporate to pay more for . . . not much, and in fact LESS than you get at a lower-tiered chain. Will you have a terrible night here? Nah. But you'll probably leave feeling like you paid for more than you got. read more

Really nice experience! Right in downtown, walking distance to so many restaurants, entertainments, bars & coffee shops. The light rail, which is free, is also a nice option and runs right outside the hotel. Service was extremely friendly & helpful! We had a hiccup with our credit card points, which we booked with the hotel, and the service desk offered us parking and to hold our bags while we waited to figure to out. King room was small but beautifully designed. Really nice attention to detail. VERY cozy bed!! They offered a late check in option which was nice. The only thing is parking. Tip.You can park in the parking lot and just pay the parking structure and pay HALF the amount than if you were to tell the hotel you were parking with them. $16 vs $32. It's up to you... read more

I have been in the Leo Kent Hotel in Tucson for ten minutes and am writing because I am appalled. The first room on the sixth floor I was offered had a wide beam in the middle of the window, leaving two small slivers on either side, with the only view being of an office building wall and little light. It was dark and ugly. I returned to the desk and was sent to a room on the second floor where the window faces directly onto a panopticon of a 6+ floor apartment building windows right outside my window. The glass door of the closet is scrawled with a massive crack, the glass dresser door also has a huge crack, the mirror is hung askew on the wall and is in the dark I feel like I'm in a horror movie.  I was told at the desk that there is not one room available in the entire hotel (on a Monday?!?) that has light and doesn't face a building wall. So somehow now I'm paying nearly $400 to stay in a dark room with broken glass and to be watched by 30+ apartments. Somehow, the front desk staff decided that "my reaction" (the desk clerk's word) is the problem, not these terrible rooms.  The wifi is so slow I have to use my phone hotspot instead of my laptop to write this. Of course it's impossible to find an email address for the hotel online. There is a glob of dirt and hair on the back of the bathroom door. There is a thick layer of dust also on the back of the bathroom door and on the nightstand shelf and book by the bed. But again, my "reaction" is the problem. When did this become Marriott's standard? This is the worst hotel I've stayed in where I've paid this much. Since the two people at the front desk don't care, I tried writing the only email address I could find--no response, of course. Don't stay here. read more

I'm not really sure where to start with this review. We came here on Mother's Day weekend on a Saturday. We tried ordering alcoholic drinks and the server told us the bartender had called out and she wasn't sure if the manager can make the alcoholics drinks. My husband ordered an old fashioned and we were told they couldn't make it so he ordered beer instead. The fries did not taste fresh, they had like a stale or day old taste. The salsa had no flavor it tasted like an open can of tomatoe sauce. I also ordered tacos and was not impressed with the taste of the tortillas. I asked about the tortillas and was told it was a special kind of flour that I've never heard before. The drinks that had limes looked old and stale, they were hard and we couldn't squeeze them out. As a bar and restaurant the limes and fresh produce to garnish the drinks should look presentable and be fresh just like the food. The server also took a while to check on us and we asked for refills she forgot and we waited quite a bit before we reminded her about our refills. For the price this was definitely a NO for me. Bad service, overpriced, food was just not giving, and no bartender. read more

We had an enjoyable stay in a well-appointed hotel room at the Leo Kent. The room was comfortable, the shower was hot with terrific water pressure, and we had a great view from our 9th floor window. It has been a REALLY long time since I last stayed in downtown Tucson, and only slightly less since I have been there. This new hotel popped up in my search results when we were looking for someplace to stay while visiting our son. We decided to give it a shot since we come to Tucson periodically and I've got some Marriott status. (This is a Marriott "Tribute Portfolio Hotel") For some perspective, we stayed one night, did not eat in the restaurant and we parked a car in the underground garage. (Parking is currently $32/day, but I didn't really see any nearby alternatives that weren't a somewhat shady-looking rental-fence encircled lot with an "$x Parking" sign in it. Since this is a shared-use building, (hotel and offices/businesses) things can be a little confusing. The signage is pretty good, but I had to make some wrong turns and adjustments since there are multiple elevator banks and the reception desk/lobby is not immediately inside the building's main entrance. I think the best way to get checked in, if you have a vehicle to park, is to stop in the loading zone in front of the building and go to reception to get your parking pass and room key. Then, go park in the garage and take the elevator. Note that you need to take one elevator from parking to the first floor, then walk around the corner to another bank to get to the guest room elevator. I don't remember the signs there being good, but I'm not completely sure. The two guys at the reception were really friendly and helpful. They told me which elevators to take and how to find the parking entrance (it is immediately to the left and down the ramp after making a left from Church onto Broadway) The hotel itself had that "new hotel" feel and smells (paint, carpet, etc.), but nothing overwhelming. I'm sure those will be gone soon. Our room was nice, but *very noisy* at night until well after midnight, which was unfortunate, but bearable since we were just staying a single night. A lot of times when I'm coming to Tucson, I need to get rest and wake up early, so that would not be optimal. Everything in the room worked fine, though the TV was on and there was no remote anywhere. Short of yanking the plug, there was also no way to power it off, so we contacted housekeeping and they found one for us. I think maybe they're still dealing with some small glitches since the hotel is new. I walked in the morning to some nearby restaurants and a donut shop. It was pretty quiet on a Sunday morning, but a few places were really busy. I didn't have to walk too far to find food. The garage is a bit tight and I can imagine larger vehicles having navigation and parking challenges. The signage is OK, but routing is kind of weird to get to the hotel's spots (shared access building means shared parking garage). Access to I-10 is nearby and that route is probably a lot easier than navigating Tucson streets to get to, say, the university or foothills areas. The room keys are made of wood instead of plastic, which is unique. read more

Stayed at the Leo Kent for a wedding at the Tucson Art Museum and found this hotel to be a good downtown location. Staff were exceptionally nice and the rooms were stylish with nice views. The restaurant downstairs was able to accommodate various size groups that we had throughout the day. Food was good. Parking is a bit tricky. They have valet out front and a small self paid parking underground. The self parking had a weird driveway entry/exit and spaces were a bit tight. read more

We stayed at the Leo Kent @theleokent in downtown Tucson, Arizona, for my 50th birthday celebration. This hotel has a rustic southwestern decor, but also feels downtown modern and luxurious. It's located in the center of downtown and most of the places we wanted to go were walkable. There is parking underneath the hotel (I paid $16 when leaving for my car to stay their from 4 pm until 11 am the next morning), and their highly rated restaurant and bar, St. Cruz, located on the first floor. Though I love the color scheme with the emerald green, gold and browns in our room, the accommodation that drew me in is the Nespresso machine @nespressousa provided in every room. The service was so great here. We were given such a nice room with the best view of the city, and when we requested additional Nespresso pods, housekeeping brought them up immediately. Priorities! The hotel is in a great location downtown. The decor is modern with some Arizona desert artwork. There is also a restaurant/bar, St. Cruz within the hotel. The $32 parking is off Broadway below the hotel and you exit out of Congress. There is a lot of construction materials down there as you follow signs for the hotel parking. The room was nice with leather seats by the window. The shower had amazing water pressure. The bed could be softer, but the pillows were too soft and the noise off Congress was loud. The elevators did close too soon, which could be an accessibility issue. Overall, it was a nice staycation with a great location to bars and restaurants. read more

We have stayed here twice now and this will definitely be our go to place when we visit family in Tucson! It is clean & stylish and has modern features yet still reflects AZ. Staff was friendly, the place always smells amazing, the rooms are spacious and the beds and linens are VERY comfortable! (And trust me that is a HUGE statement coming from me as I have a bad back & multiple autoimmune conditions). I also love that it's only a few years old because it definitely doesn't have wear & tear or feel like most of the older places in Tucson where they've tried to "dress it up" but you can tell it's actually still gross/grungy. ..All that and I'll add that the price was great for this hotel level! (The only negative was I wish they had a pool) If this area fits where you need/want to be, don't hesitate to book it! read more

I only stayed for one night because I was attending a concert at the Fox theater (which is literally across the street - SO convenient) The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and every single person who worked at LK was exceedingly nice and went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my stay! For being in the heart of downtown the rooms were whisper quiet (sure there is occasional traffic noise but jeez you're literally downtown in a major metro area you can't avoid that.) however I never heard a single door slam, a TV, people talking or just the general comings and goings of other patrons - and the hotel was fairly busy. And the Apotheke shampoo conditioner and soap was *chefs kiss* Highly recommend staying at this gem (Oh given it's in the heart of downtown I think the underground valet parking is a thousand percent worth the $39/day) read more

As a 60+ year old seasoned traveler my experience yesterday was the most embarrassing and troubling hotel visit I have ever had. After having confirmed my hotel reservations a mere 3 hours earlier, when I arrived I was told the hotel was overbooked and I had been chosen to be relocated to a hotel 15 minutes away! When I protested that I had selected this hotel over two weeks ago because it was across the street from the venue me and my wife were attending for our anniversary, I was told but the other hotel is cheaper and we will reimburse your deposit!! Gee thanks. After literally begging, I was allowed a room, not the one I had reserved but clearly the worse one in the hotel. And did I receive an apology? Nope! I would never stay there again, and I think my stays at Marriott's is over. How can anyone trust them-I learned the hard way, reservations apparently don't mean a thing to Marriott. read more

Restaurant food was okay. Burger was over salted. BLT sandwich was decent. Fries were floppy. Bartenders and front desk staff were nice/friendly. Recommend making sure to get a room on the building's south side (not on Congress!) if you do not want to stay awake until 2am due to noise. read more

I stayed one night while on a road trip. The valets were cool and the front desk clerk was friendly at check in. Restaurant staff and morning front desk were rude and inattentive. The floor layout itself is confusing and difficult to navigate with luggage. In the room itself the mattress is hard (not firm just hard) and very uncomfortable and the coffeemaker didn't work. I booked a room for college move-in, but when we arrived around 9 p.m. after a long day of work, packing for freshman move-in, and a lengthy drive, they had given our room away despite our reservation. Before I review the hotel itself, I have to mention the front desk manager, Jessica Hunter. Even before we booked, she went above and beyond to assist me. She's not only professional, but kind and truly cares about your experience at the hotel. She made everything seamless and was helpful, throughout our stay. As for the hotel itself, it's newer and modern. The decor is stunning both in the lobby, restaurant and in the room. Our standard king was on the small side (to be expected in a downtown area), but well equipped with blackout drapes, a massive smart TV, INSANELY comfortable bed and some of the best pillows I've slept on at a hotel. The shower pressure is phenomenal and the products they provide are great as well. The room has a Nespresso coffee maker, mini fridge and they leave waters for you each night. Everything is super clean and new. The AC is great! There is a shuttle right across the street that runs every 15 minutes to campus and it's about a 14 minute ride with the stops along the way. An Uber is about $7. We will for sure stay here again! read more

Beautiful hotel with lots of great staff, clean rooms, and amenities. But my god, unless you are interested in also attending a rave against your will, be sure not to book a room here. I was on the second floor (my first mistake) and the noise from a nearby concert was absolutely insane. Employees reassured us that the noise would dissipate before nighttime, but unfortunately that was not the case at all. My family and I have decided not to return to this hotel again. They were on the 9th floor and even they had to deal with the blasting pulsing noises from below. This is unfortunate because it's a nice hotel otherwise, but it's simple not worth the potential risk of noise pollution. read more
