Had a great time here. We arrived late around 9. Was able to locate this restaurant without much hassle of driving around. The place was still a bit crowded even at 9. However since the majority of the crowd had left, we got the seats fairly fast. To the readers: Would definitely recommend reserving a table or be ready to wait for a while. The menu had limited veggie and chicken option. We tried the garlic parmesan wings, freshly made fries, salads and the chicken tenders. Food was served fast. They had a great selection of beer. Staff was polite and helped us in making some good choices from the menu. The desert selection is not on the regular menu, do ask the server specifically if you feel like eating desert. We tried the lemon cheesecake and it was delicious. On the outside, it was located near the state house and the place was safe to drive around. There was a small parking lot behind the property but considering the crowd, it may fill up quickly. Street parking was available. read more

The fish and chips was fresh, lightly battered, and not oily. The cole slaw was not super creamy, how I prefer it, and not sopping wet with lots of sauce. It was very good. The tarter sauce seemed to be home made because it also was good. I rated this place lower not because of the food, but because the service was dismissive and the music too loud for a small place. They had servers who were constantly on the move, but when they approached the table, they all seemed to be bothered they had to come at all. This was not only at my "table", I shared half a pew bench with a group of 4 otherwise for little o' me, it was going to be a 20 min wait. The hostess seemed unsure how to handle a party of one and settled on asking if I would share a table. Most of the tables had the same reaction from their servers. The band took up a corner of the small bar area (odd for a brewery to have such a small bar area), and was of a bluegrass nature. They were good, but so loud most servers could not hear a shout to them or an order being made. I saw many people leave based on this problem. I would suggest ordering ahead for takeout and leave the poor serve attitude and deafness at the restaurant. read more

Very nice restaurant with a cool vibe, and the surrounding downtown is very cute and fun to walk around after you eat. Our waitress was really nice and you could tell she loved her job. She checked on us often and answered questions about the menu. We went with a paddle of their beers. The stout won the day, although my partner enjoyed each one. I went with a blueberry mint mojito. It was just okay - a bit too heavy on the mint for me but I guess they meant business when they put mint in the name. We ordered poutine to start. Made with real curds (yay) and huge. I was feeling full after we finished that giant plate. Lovely gravy and done right! For our meals, I went with the lobster roll and a side of butternut squash (cannot resist that and it was awesome). I felt the meat was a little weird, almost reminded me of lobster salad with a claw thrown in. My partner got the flounder po boy and it was amazing. We ended up switching. Loved the tartar sauce too. Overall, a nice dining experience. Their menu has a ton of stuff and I saw several items I'd like to try so if we're in the area I can see us coming back for sure. read more

A few years ago, I would've given this restaurant a high rating. Their food used to be good. I had the haddock sandwich, which is now a pre-frozen square on a bun that was so flat and soggy that I did not recognize it as the brioche they said it was. My husband ordered the brisket, and it was mostly fat. The remaining part was very tough. This was a huge disappointment and I won't go back. Passing through and stopped here. What a fun vibe. It's a small restaurant and pub. Even though they had a wait we were seated quickly. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The menu is traditional pub food for the most part. There is a fantastic selection of local beers. We had the chicken wrap and bangers and mash. Both were very good the price is extremely reasonable. Also tried a beer which was good. There was live music and that increased the noise level, however the band was very good. Would definitely stop back if ever in the area. read more

We found this little gem via Yelp as we were searching for something new in the Augusta area. Glad we found it! It's really nice inside. There is a cool wood bar were you can sip a house brewed beer while you wait on your food or enjoy it right there. There are lots of tables to sit at as well, but the night we stopped in there was a bit of a wait, so we opted to order to go since we had to pick a friend up at the bus station. The host was really nice, helped us with our selections and placed our order right there at the host stand. Then we moved on into the bar for a brew while we waited. I had the Stout which was pretty good. It wasn't a robust as I'm used to with other stouts I've had, but it was smooth, creamy and dense. As far as the food, we opted for the SHRIMPCARGOT (Mushroom caps stuffed with Garlic butter, Gulf Shrimp & Brie, served with a side of French bread). This was a garlicy buttery goodness right there! Not a single drop of garlic butter was wasted. For dinner I opted for the Vegetarian dish of the day - which was a pasta dish with Tomatoes and Asparagus in a black pepper cream sauce. I had them add some wood fire grilled shrimp too. While the flavor was scrumptious but, there was very little veggies in it. It was more of a huge pile of pasta with some shrimp, so that was the only frustration. But overall pretty yummy place. read more

We have eaten here several times over the years. The last two times we have eaten here (past 4 months) it has not been the best. Waitresses are inattentive, you have to ask for water and don't get it until the end of the meal. Food was just so-so - ordered the meatloaf dinner and it arrived cold. Like refrigerator cold on the plate. Sides were cold as well, indicating the meals are pre-plated. How she didn't recognize that the meal had no steam rising from the top or the plate not being warm, I just can't imagine. No drink refill offerings. Meal came back warm from the microwave. Yummy. . . . We will give a month or two and hope it goes back to how it used to be. Makes us sad. read more

When we walked in, I saw a blackboard with specials that advertised a fried clam appetizer. I have been on a quest for the best fried clam in Maine and keep a running score in my head. (Hit me up if you want more info) Fried clams are not a regular menu item here but they should be. These clams were better than places that feature the word 'clam' in their name. Top 3 in the state! Fish n' chips is awesome! The fish is always fresh and delicious are and the fries are always solid whether here or sister Restaurant Run of the Mill. I highly recommend 'the full Monty. My friend ordered the Greek salad which she found fresh and enjoyable if a bit over dressed. We come for the food as we have never been a huge fan of the beer offerings but that was quite good today as well. read more

The ambiance of this place is awesome. There is ample worn and tarnished wood features inside which give it a feeling as if it is both warm and inviting as well as trapped in time. The soups were great! My partner had been craving a French onion soup and she said this one was fantastic. The wings were nice and cripsy and the homemade sauce really went well with them. The meatloaf was great as well as the chicken special which was stuffed with spinach and feta and topped with a mushroom sherry sauce. The only criticism is that both of our meals came with mashed potatoes and both of them had big chunks of what must've been parts of black potato that one would normally cut out and discard. read more
