The best thing about the Library is no cover. I heard the drinks were cheap but I was already done drinking for the night so I didn't purchase anything and it was late when we walked in. The music was really good and it was oh so crowded but it was Saturday. I expected to see mostly college kids and they were there but it was a pretty mixed crowd. I don't know what all the hype is about this place. Maybe because Fort Worth does not have as many options as Miami,Vegas,Austin and other big cities. A popular bar in Fort Worth where all the cool peeps hang out on the weekend. This place is a hit-or-miss for me because there are days where there is a line out the door and other times, nobody is there and I can roam around freely. The one thing that bugs me about coming here is the smoking atmosphere. I hate walking out of a bar/restaurant smelling like smoke plus the smell is just disgusting. So I only come here if my best friend asks me to come. Drink prices are reasonable and shots are very cheap (way cheaper than the clubs down the street). I rarely visit downtown any longer; however, I've been venturing down to the Library. The manager, Jessica, makes it such an enjoyable experience that I'll be returning with my friends. I cannot stand bars wherein the staff makes it a point to avoid eye contact (service). Jessica is the opposite of that. 0 stars. I almost hate judging an entire bar because of 1 bartender. However, your job as a bartender is to serve drinks and be nice to customers. I went in to play pool with my wife and play the juke box. When I played a song the bartender threw ice at me and told me to play something he wanted to hear or he is unplugging it. I walked away and he shut the song off that I put on and turned on what he wanted to hear. It was Sunday afternoon and there was only 5 other people in the whole place. I could almost understand his actions if the place was packed and nobody wanted to hear what I was playing and my music would cause the bar to lose customers and money. However, no matter what the circumstance, if you hire a bartender that throws ice at customers and controls the juke box, then you get a bad review. read more

It was a little on the wild side though and even I got wild myself which I apologize for guys(both staff and patrons). I liked the wild side when I was young and was acting like I was young again, but now I'm almost 40 so there is no excuse for it now. But , I have become mostly laid back and chill. Went here for my birthday last year and the bartender was a jerk. We ordered two lemon drop shots (my friend never had them) and the bartender did not make them right (being a bartender myself). Even when it was empty, it still took 10-15 minutes to get our order taken, & another 15-20 minutes after our drinks were empty to get the tab. I have been a fan of The Library since my days as a TCU student. Free cover always and the drink specials on Saturdays are pretty insane. The music is pretty decent and the crowd is a mix of young professionals, college students, and other people who don't necessarily fit into those two categories. The Library is always a great place to go if you're in downtown Fort Worth and would like somewhere to go that's economical and good for large groups. read more

We had one drink and decided to bar hop, but we did come back to finish out the night and it was a little more full. I liked the upstairs where the pool table and air hockey were. Eh not the best spot but it's cheap. I wouldn't recommend staying there all night, just a cheap bar to get started at then move around. Bouncers are rude and always have something smart to say. My boyfriend dresses very nice every time we go out, never baggy clothes or skinny jeans and the bouncer always looks him up & down just looking for any reason to keep him out. (My bf is white!) I've seen them let white guys in with hats and turn away Mexicans and blacks bc of loose slacks/jeans and hats!!
