Our third time here, we all attempted to be relatively healthy on this night, going with the bourbon chicken with sauce on the side. We started by splitting a side Caesar salad, which was very flavorful and good. None of us were impressed with our chicken. Thinner than it has been in the past, it was also overcooked and quite dry. The side of vegetables are fantastic, and the mashed potatoes were enjoyed as well. They've now included a scoop of Cole slaw with the chicken, which was also very good. Service started off slow, but was ok, although we did have to ask for drink refills after our glasses sat empty for a long time. Hands down the best kept secret in Castle Rock. The Library is my favorite local dinner spot and I hope nothing ever changes. Cozy atmosphere, great food, loving service, and perfect volume level for a sport bar. The menu is adventurous for a sports bar and provides options other than just the regular old "burger and fries." The owner and the manager will recognize you everytime that you come back and it feels like a private club, more than a public restaurant. For the win: Start with the Soft Pretzels with ale cheese dip and ale mustard, next either the Western Burger with a side of coleslaw and fries, or The Reuben. Greeted as soon as we walk in. Went here with family party of 6 plus a three year old. Staff were friendly. Service was on point. I ordered the gumbo, which I would rate 3.75 out of 5. It was good, but not good enough to order next time. I also ordered the mahi-mahi sandwich with fries and side ranch. We love The Library! It's like we finally found a place that feels like home. Although it's a bar, don't let that keep you from dining there. The food is delicious and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I really appreciate the owner Alex and his hustle. His wife was there too the first time we went. Let's put it this way, we were there 3 times in 2 weeks. Although we don't dine out much, my mother suffered an injury and I'm wearing a few too many hats at the moment to include all meals at our house so they have been a lifesaver for a decent meal, a nice salad, comfort food and a friendly face to say hello when I've run to grab takeout. Starting with the appetizers, the Oysters on the half shell were incredibly fresh, and the Soft Pretzels with ale cheese dip and amber ale mustard were the perfect combination of savory and indulgent. I love this place, the atmosphere is great, service is great, food is good but this restaurant needs new chairs so bad ! There's not a comfortable seat anywhere on the patio and every barstool wobbles to the point it's hard to sit without keeping a foot on the floor. I have been remiss at giving this place a review , but every time has been a pleasure. The wait staff is always accommodating and the food is well beyond what you would expect from a tavern or bar. I love that they're from Guadalajara, where my family is from! Ok I wanted to like this place...it's dark and feels a bit unkept...sticky tables and less than enthusiastic staff. I ordered Huevos Rancheros and received a folded over fried egg with red enchilada sauce on top....ummm GROSS! My friend immediately said she would share her chicken sandwich. The library is a great local spot to go visit. If you want to hang out somewhere and watch some Colorado sports, or anything else good on TV, this is a good place to start. The drink menu is pretty big. As you can see from the photos, they have a massive bar. I don't have much to complain about here except their bourbon pricing. It's a bit higher than what I would hope for. They also have a fairly extensive food menu. I like going here with friends or family because there's a lot to choose from, so everyone is typically happy. It's not the 10/10 food from a high end restaurant, but that's not what this place is either. You can come here and have a good sandwich or burger while watching some sports. My mid-twenties son loves The Library. He's a fan of the burgers and the people from what I can tell. I stop in with girlfriends from time to time and it falls into the "it's fine" category for me. Parking can be a challenge in this area, but as long as there's no major ice, I don't mind walking to where I find. We've never had to wait for a seat which is a bonus. Service is always fine. The fried shrimp dinner, any number of burgers (and they have plenty of options) and the onion rings are my go-tos. I've tried the cheesecake for dessert before too. The restaurant is clean, easy to find, approachable for anyone who wants to stop by and pretty expected. A consistent option with a nice chocolate martini. read more

I wont go back. The owner would rather fire an employee then coach her through things. I was only there because she raved about his bar. She made mistakes for sure but apparently there is no wiggle room or areas of improvement. Tried talking to him and he didnt want to hear a word i said. As an owner you should be worried about your bottom line. He didnt properly set the standard or she would have been gone already. Embarrassing an employee in front of customers and sitting at a table watching her every move can be uncomfortable especially for a 23 year old. The Gym Co didnt survive and i dont see this bar surviving. When interviewing, make better choices. If she or anyone else screws up, hold then accountable. If you cant, or the bar manager cant coach her through, then you give them a week to improve and if they dont, time to part ways. Dont cry to me about your bottom line, you hired her and thats on you. But her coming to my bar to unwind and convincing me to go to the Library has no worth. Absolutely no growth or coaching with this person. Thanks for letting me try to talk to you and try to explain to you that i was only there to return an industry favor and support this employee.
