That's the purpose of calling ahead and making reservations, to let them get prepared for you. Work _with_ the establishment, not against it, and they'll take care of you. We had reservations but waited a bit at the front before being acknowledged. Once we were seated the experience was amazing. The ambiance was top tier and was decorated nicely for the holidays... but not overdone. The drinks were spectacular and the short rib grilled cheese was so delicious. We were consistently checked on to see if there was anything else we needed. We will definitely be returning! We were told their seasonal drinks change twice a year... maybe more often will keep people coming back to try new things? A great place for a girls night or date night! read more

Our first visit and we'll definitely be back! I'd give 5 stars to the design aesthetic. It's beautiful, with a ton of attention to detail, down to the bathroom and the speakeasy special events room hidden behind a bookcase. And little adorable forks with the dates and charcuterie! I'd give 3 stars for the seating options. This is lounge-style, with no at-table seating, just couches, chairs, and bar seating. If you're a couple, you may share space with others. This would be great for a group of 4 with drinks and nibbles. It was a bit awkward for two who wanted a date night and had food where you had to hold your plate in front of you to not make a mess. It would be nice to have some options for tables, maybe. We'd give 4 stars for the drinks. My cosmo spin was delicious, but my husband thought the "high fashion" was too heavy on the bitters. His second drink, "lost in Louisiana," he really liked. And holy hell, 5 stars for the dates! They're $8 for 3, but they're worth it and we ordered two batches. The charcuterie board was also good - a good price and a decent amount of meats and cheeses. 4 stars for the food overall. We both also had the short rib grilled cheese, which was nice, but nothing special. Service was also 4 stars. Some lulls in service, but overall, attentive and nice. For a limited menu we expected the food to be exceptional but the gnocchi was mush, filet mignon was bland and not seared looked like it came straight out of a bag, truffle fries not great but the aïoli tasted good, family sized asparagus serving had five asparagus, paid $20 for 5 prawns, ordered dirty martinis that were not shakin well. Overall it was far too expensive for what you actually get. For a family of four we spent a total of $260 with tip. It was actually insulting to get the food we got at that price. We have been to Provision a number of times and are always happy. The service is excellent, and the selection of cocktails is always intriguing. The Meringue is one of the tastiest drinks I've ever had. Knowledgeable staff, and tasty small plates. This is a beautiful little bar, it's a great place to start or end a date. Came in an hour before close on Saturday night. One of the bartenders seemed inebriated and maybe that's why service was a lil off. We weren't acknowledged by the bartenders for a bit. The bar back was nice enough to get our first drink orders. This place has such a cozy yet mysterious vibe- everything here is matte black with dim lighting - I loved it! Service is so nice - our server made the best suggestions for drinks and kept checking on us. This is a very unique venue, especially for Castle Rock. We've visited twice in the past few weeks and both were exceptional. This is not some place you go for a full blown dinner, rather, this is where you go after that dinner. There are a few tables, but mostly sofas and club chairs with some tucked into nooks and others in the open. Our servers, Bree and Collin, were awesome! It is, for me anyway, a cross between a cocktail bar and a speak-easy. They offer some pretty awesome drinks and a light appetizer menu. Nice, cozy, upscale cocktail bar. Great place for an after-dinner drink for two or with friends. We ended up being right by the hostess stand and front door, so I'm guessing it's even cozier as you get further back into the place. Cool menu with lots of seasonal and every-day drinks. I had two different drinks off their whiskey menu. The first...I forget the name...was their version of a fairly basic Old Fashioned/Manhattan. It was good, but not at all large. Love the single-cube ice cube though. For my second drink, I went with the Velvet Revolver, which was also really good. That'll probably be my go-to on future visits, assuming I don't want to experiment with anything else. My wife drank wine like she usually does. Service was a bit slow at times, but at least she was friendly, and luckily we didn't go thirsty for too long. read more

Can't believe that I've never left a review on this place. I've been all over the country and I can say for certain this is the best bar/lounge I've ever been to. ALL of the drinks are PERFECT! Haven't had a bad drink ever. I don't even care for gin but they make me enjoy their gin drinks as well. The bartenders and host are all AMAZING. I have nothing but great things to say. It's perfect. The set up and layout is accommodating for small to medium sized groups. Music is played but it's not loud which is perfect. FINALLY! This is the speakeasy Castle Rock needed! HH, Date night, GNO, night cap, this is your spot. I've been missing the downtown bars and overall quality of cocktails DTCR has to offer but have always been disappointed. Provision will be the only place I go when I'm craving a high quality cocktail and a classy lounge atmosphere. The ambiance was on point. I felt like I was being transported out of Castle Rock completely. The interior design is so well done. They have perfectly placed seating and it feels intimate and cozy but you can fit quite a few people in here. My fav thing about the building itself was that they kept some of the original brick and it's exposed so you can see it from the inside when you walk in. It's a tasteful nod to the old OG Castle Rock. Now to the DRINKS bc they need their own section. I would say I'm picky on this. I can make my own drinks and usually do bc everywhere has average at best in creativity and flavor profile. If a place adds egg white to a cocktail then I know they know a thing or two about mixology. Please take my $15 for a drink if it's good quality. This is that place. I'm a gin girl so I tried several items on the menu. But the beauty of an upscale place like this is they can make anything you want. Describe what you like, flavors, bubbly, etc and they will fix something up for you. If you don't like it, they'll take it off your tab. I'd say the drinks are strong and like I said, I had several...I can report that I didn't have a hangover the next day. Top shelf isn't overrated. I am going to have to come back for food because I didn't get to try anything the night I went but their grilled cheese looked so good! I'll have to update my review after I try it. From memory, the menu was actually impressive for a bar. I expected charcuterie or tapas at best but we definitely could have had dinner with our drinks. Overall I highly recommend this place but also hope it stays a hidden gem. I didn't realize they accepted reservations so I'll be taking advantage of that in the future. My husband and I stopped in on a Thursday night for drinks and dessert. Hubby ordered an Embers cocktail and I had the Meringue. The Meringue was one of the most delicious cocktails I have ever had! We shared the crème brûlée and it was perfection. The music was a volume that allowed for easy conversation and there was plenty of seating available. You need a reservation on the weekends though. As former Denver residents, one of the things we've missed most living in Castle Rock are high end cocktail bars. Death & Co., Tartarian, and Union Lodge No. 1 are some of our faves. This is why we were SO excited about Provision opening in Castle Rock. We finally visited last night for our anniversary and while there were some incredible highlights, I left feeling really disappointed. First, the good! When I walked in the door, my jaw dropped at how beautiful this place is. YES! Castle Rock has been needing a sexy, adults only bar perfect for date nights, ladies nights out, etc. I LOVED the vibe... but more on this later. THE DRINKS! YES! I see others saying that they're expensive and they are. BUT, they are worth it and the prices are on par with any similar bar with truly artful libations. My husband and I each had 3, and The Gettin' Mezzy was by far my favorite. Smoky, sweet, and creative perfection. We eventually ended up sitting at the bar, and this is always our favorite place to be because watching the bartenders/mixologists is always like getting a show. Upon first observation, the gentlemen crafting the cocktails looked young- did they have the chops of the people at the well known cocktail spots we love?! The answer is yes! These youngsters certainly have talent and are sure to age well, like a coveted whiskey! Because Provision is newer, I certainly would expect some kinks in their operation. We experienced the following- We had a 6:30 reservation. I watched the hostess seat a walk-in right before us which is absolutely fine, but then suddenly no room for us and we had to wait about 10 minutes. Eh- it happens, especially as a place and a staff is learning it's flow. When we finally were seated, we were seated next to a couple with an infant- WHAT?! Don't make me out to be a baby hater! I'm not, but the thing is, Castle Rock is kiddo central! Literally every restaurant and brewery has families with children and even the smallest and the best behaved change the vibe. Sometimes my hubs and I want an ADULT date night, especially for an anniversary. I thought this was supposed to be the place?! Ugh. As we were waiting for our drinks, wondering if we were celebrating a baby shower or our special day, my phone rang. It was the host, wondering if we were coming in for our reservation. Yes dude, you've already seated us. I took this opportunity to walk up front and kindly ask to be reseated so that we were not sharing our table with a newborn and we were- yay! We were finally settled in, happily enjoying each other and socializing with fellow patrons. We ran into a number of friends and neighbors- so fun! At this point I could have absolutely overlooked the aforementioned hiccups as growing pains and doled out a 5 star review, but... But this is where my night came crashing down. My friend Jen recently had an ACL surgery, and I was so happy to see that she was out. As I watched her making her way back to the bar on crutches, I quoted Forest Gump and loudly teased her over the din of the bar, "run Jen, run!" Immediately a giant man in a white thermal (I think he was the manager's/owner's sig other?!) rudely admonished me, "you can't yell in here, we're not that type of bar." Excuse me, Mr. Fun Police! I also thought you weren't the kind of bar where babies got to join mom and dad, and yet that happened, so... Yes, I'm a loud and boisterous person. I'll own that in my excitement I might have been a little too loud for a brief second. However, I'm far from a disruptive patron. I've worked in the industry, If you are running a place like this, I appreciate that you're trying to maintain a particular atmosphere. If a customer seems to be getting loud, watch them for a minute before berating them. Was the small incident a one off that should be dismissed, or are they really problematic? Let me tell you, I was not the latter. I asked for our bill, which was well over $100 for 6 drinks and two teensy snacks, tipped 30% because it certainly wasn't the staff's fault that their boss is on some sort of a power trip, and moved down the street to another place where customers aren't treated like dirt. Provision, you may be busy now and you have INCREDIBLE potential, but being downright mean to customers who are willing to drop big money on nights out at least a least a couple of times a week is not the way to success long term. You're definitely not embodying the peacefulness of the dove as you claim to. I will not be encouraging friends and neighbors to head your way, and the drinks and the bars at Dos Santos and Tribe will continue to quench my thirst and need for local adult nights out if I'm not headed to Denver. read more

We hosted my mom's surprise birthday here. Tyler and his team were incredible to work with! They were so attentive to all the guests. They made sure the food was out one time and that all food requirements were taken care of (ie gluten-free). Everything tasted great! The ambiance was incredible too. Not a huge fan. The environment is very cool- the front desk ladies are not. The place seems like it would be a very cool lounge vibe type place. Which it should be- they treat it like a speak easy. You have to have a reservation- you can't just sit at the bar- the front desk girls act like they are too good for every person that walks in. The manager was very sweet and very accommodating. Personal opinion- if you want it to be speak easy - change the lay out. It needs to be closed at the front- & a secret entrance to the back. I think the way it currently is they should just let people come in, first come first serve. If you want a seating area, that is a reservation. First thing I noticed when we walked in was how AMAZING it smelled in here. Ambiance is perfection! Dark, cozy, modern, classy. The birch trees are such a fun touch to the decor.
