We stopped here to spend the night on a spur of the moment trip to Chincoteague Island. We checked in with a perfectly lovely young lady who gave us a quick rundown of the island. When we got to our room it was very small, but clean and neat. The hotel is under new ownership, and had been fairly recently renovated. It was a very pleasant stay, even if a nearby rooster was very insistent that I get up earlier than I had originally planned.

Older motel, but spotless. Owners are terrific. Enjoyed our stay and would come back.

The innkeepers Erica and Eddie were so welcoming to me when I stayed for a weekend to celebrate my brother's wedding.

We are Marriott people and were looking for a property to overnight at in Chincoteague. Our room…read morehad a balcony (w/chairs) overlooking the water and it was lovely. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We generally do not stay at Fairfield Inn properties, but we were able to get a waterfront room last minute on a holiday weekend (and I read several reviews talking about the cleanliness and remodel). It is walking distance to charming coffee shops and a quaint downtown.

The management staff here have no consideration for their patrons. During the COVID-19 pandemic…read morethey posted pictures all over the hotel requiring guests to wear face masks. The photos they chose to use were all of Asian women wearing masks. I know it was not their intent to come off as racist but as an Asian person, I find it upsetting. The subtle implication is that Asians are the cause of the virus and that you should protect yourself from us. When a friend of mine who is also Asian voiced her concerns about how this offended her, the on duty manager promised to remove the signs and reprint them with less offensive selections. The manager then proceeded to leave for the day without fixing it. 4 hours later the new manager on duty refused to take down the pictures and told my friend she would have to wait until tomorrow for the next manager to come back and speak to her. I will never stay at this hotel and I don't suggest you do either. There are plenty of hotel options where the staff is more hospitable and representative of humanity than this one.

This place is responsibly priced for the area and is a fine place to stay the night…read more The inn is old and is nothing fancy, but it was clean, quiet, and in a good location. They have a few bicycles, but some are in rough shape. The breakfast was light but delicious. There is plenty of free public parking behind the inn. So park behind them and walk through the back to the front door. The staff is friendly and did a good job cleaning the room and serving. I did not try dinner, but it was packed; I don't know if that indicates quality. But all the tables were full. For the price compared to the other hotels, it's a good choice for a couple. I'm sure you could have kids, but there is nothing on the grounds to keep them entertained. And because of that, if you stay there, you don't get the noise from screaming kids or the frat boys getting wasted next door. It's an excellent option for an overnight stay.

Review of pre-fixe 5 course dinner…read more A bygone era is alive and well here. I appreciated the service that emphasized decorum and gentleness. The courses were so different; a lot of thought has gone into the menu and prep. The crab bisque was delicious and appropriately sized. I loved the subtle touch of sherry. A smart way to begin the evening. I found the amuse bouche plate that consisted of a single scallop, French onion scone with strawberry preserves, Gruyere cheese, and other foods, to be a bit confusing. The salad plate was top notch, enjoyable. Red snapper, the main course, was right in there. A lovely fillet, placed on a bed of delicate mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable medley, was excellent. The chocolate fig cake dessert looked superb but some of the other chocolate components weren't complementary. The whole dining experience was very relaxing.
