We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and spouse retirement/birthday on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The parking area accommodated all our guests (100) with easy access. The outdoor patio hung with lights continued that esthetic into the outdoor space too. Clean bathroom with a lovely amenities basket including mouthwash, mints, feminine products... it's a really appreciated touch. This place does their own in house food and beverage so you don't have to coordinate with an outside caterer. The event I attended had taquitos and a great spread of salsa and honestly the tastiest guacamole I've had in ages! Yum!! Easy to find, plenty of parking, what's not to love? Oh and the owner is friendly too.

Kids and I had a blast at BRKTHROUGH when we visited KC. Our group was me and my two sons (14,…read more12). At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours). Not only do you try to get your best score, there is a leaderboard to show how you are doing against the other teams in the building. You can earn a prize if you obtain a certain minimum score, or win against the other groups. Other than the boys arguing over strategies, we had a good time. Even with young kids, we were able to complete a lot of the rooms. There are plenty of rooms that could be completed by those with physical limitations, but obviously not all of them. We had a good time and the time flew by. There is also a bar and restaurant and a few games to play after your time is up. We had a blast and would definitely return again! , with live leaderboards tracking everyone in the building. You can read more about the activities or book your session on

There are a handful of rooms each time that seem to malfunction. Other than that, it's a delightful place to pour yourself a drink or 3 and spend a few hours trying to escape their mini puzzle rooms.

I enjoyed the rustic, brick look. Had an event here and there was catering with food and bars. It's spacious enough for a large crowd. The third floor is much more spacious than the first floor. We looked at over a dozen venues in the Kansas City area and just knew from the moment we walked in that this was THE space. It is truly a Kansas City gem with wood flooring, high beams with Edison bulbs, brick walls, and beautiful staircases. A huge standout for us was they only have one event per weekend, so we had the space from Friday (when we moved all of our necessities in) to 4:00 on Sunday ( when we moved back out). The wedding party truly enjoyed preparing with hair, make-up, and wardrobe on the gorgeous third floor, the cocktail hour was on the first level, and dinner and dance were on the second level. Everything was perfect. When you book the Oliver, you get the peace of mind of the owner Steve and the event coordinator Caitlin. We met with Caitlin on multiple occasions and she was amazing. They have a great bartending staff, parking attendants, and security guards, and a great working rapport with many local vendors. If I had to touch on any drawbacks, it would just be the gravel parking lots, which can be a bit of a challenge with ladies in heels or elderly persons. We were a little concerned with it being haunted house season but this was not an issue at all. Overall, we could not be more thrilled with our experience and I would give it more stars if I could! An absolute ten out of ten!
