We absolutely enjoyed our time at legoland this afternoon. We bought Activity Pack for additional $7 and I don't think it was worth it. I loved that everything was interactive. My 5 year old and 2 year old loved making my a car and racing it down the tracks. They have a small playground inside and a few attractions. One is a laser gun ride, does not have any restrictions. Another is an aerial carousal ride which does require kids to be 3ft tall. Both lines went quick. They have a large duplo section, mini Kansas City. Starbucks onsite for the parents. We spent about two hours in total there. We will be back - my kids had so much fun! read more

A decade after f visiting and still Amazed at how much they fit into a small space. Definitely get the best deal on their website to visit Lego land and the aquarium. The 2 rides are pretty fun, my pre teens still like visiting and love Lego's. Decided to turn a no school day into a visit here after a year after my last visit. I've been for birthday parties and had season passes when my kiddos were littles. A bit of a bummer that the 3D Lego theater was down for maintenance but love that they have 4 different movies showing when it's up and running. Race track, ninja obstacle course, virtual game for an extra $7, snack bar and so much more were visited. Easily spend the day. Love that the tickets allow same day reentry but not a fan of the parking situation, it's a bit confusing but not terrible. Not enough to detour a visit but a heads up to prepare . Activity room as also closed, so if your wanting to ensure an all access visit, probably good to call ahead. Love that it's an option and worth the day visit! read more

The LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a must-stop for us whenever we vacation in KC. We have two young kids who love building, and this was our second trip. It was even better than the first because I got to experience some of the activities geared toward the little ones as well. There's so much to do! Between building stations, rides, hands-on activities, and checking out the Lego city of KC landmarks, it took us a couple of hours before our son was completely worn out. I also love that it's within walking distance of Crown Center shopping and the fountains. My biggest complaint is that it can get super busy--think mass chaos, kids running around, and people shoulder to shoulder--and it isn't always as clean as I'd like. Pro tip: Book ahead to take advantage of coupon discounts. It helps save a little and ensures entry during busy times. Always love taking the kids to Legoland. This was a first in KC. They have a huge space and plenty of great activities for all ages. Kids love the 4D theater (watched all four movies). Plenty of building activities. It was a little crowded, which you can usually expect and a popular place. Definitely keep an eye on your kids because they can duck into a number of attractions that are not really accessible by adults. Highly recommend for anyone that want to spend hours in Lego bliss. I took my four-year-old granddaughter to Legoland. It was my first time, but her second. The first time she went, she was too young to remember. We both had a wonderful time. Really enjoyed it. The only thing we were not available for viewing. They have four different shows that run for about 30 minutes each, but they couldn't get the sound to work. Other than that. We had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it for children aged 4. They have different areas where you can build with the Legos. They have a four-seat ride where you can shoot lasers; you look like you're in a tunnel. It's not scary, but it is dark. They also have a ride. It reminds you of a toddler helicopter, and you have to paddle in order to go higher. So the faster you pedal, the higher you go. Make sure you go online to label land.com to purchase your tickets. I purchased the combo so we had a full day, which included about 6 hours at Legoland and Sea Life. I highly recommend waiting until the night before to purchase your tickets if you're not strict about timing, since the number of attendees per session varies. I paid $70 for both of us for both activities, so it's like $35 per person, which included taxes and service fees. read more

This is a place I'd been wanting to go to since it opened. And a short while ago, I was afforded the opportunity since my sister and her kids were coming to town and they were wanting to go. Sidenote: I'd been curious why they had the restriction of needing a kid, but after this visit, it was rather obvious why (kids running around all over the place and many of them had parents who weren't exactly paying attention). A random adult without a kid would be extremely out of place here. This is actually a relatively smaller venue than what I was expecting. There were some hands on building stations, crawling tunnels, a ride, and a few exhibits. The exhibits were my favorite and included the local stadiums, a set piece of the downtown view, and some local points of interest. And there was a cool store at the end where there were all kinds of Lego sets that could be purchased. My parting thought, and really the one I had the whole time was "This would've been so much cooler 30 years ago when I was a kid". It hits hard in the memberberries, but as a nearing middle aged adult, it just lacks the mystique and cool factor it had in my youth. Still an interesting place to visit, and doubly so for the kids, but I could definitely relate to the parents that clearly weren't as interested. If you have kids that love Legos, it's a must stop place. If you're an adult feeling nostalgic, buy some sets of Legos and skip the kids. read more

We bought our tickets online - and added the robot pack for each kiddo. When we got there the people checking tickets just handed us our lanyards and pointed us towards the entrance. We had no idea what we were supposed to do. The place itself is hectic and difficult to navigate - they seem under staffed and the ones there don't appear to enjoy their jobs. I don't understand why they have ticket times when it doesn't seem like they monitor the number of people inside to ensure everyone can enjoy the activities. The line for the Merlin ride was fairly fast, but the safety check from the staff to ensure everyone is buckled in is longer than the actual ride. If you have a kiddo super into Lego - it might be worth it? But it really felt like it wasn't worth the money. Oh and we would have never known the lanyard came with a robot build you pick up in the gift shop after if we hadn't been buying something and my husband was wearing our daughters. The Bad Employees seemed to lack proper training. Where you buy tickets at they had 4 employees trying to help with purchasing tickets through their "self service". Those 4 employees should take the place of the self service machine! The employee that was on the second level when you come in was rude!! Like she doesn't like kids and is in the wrong place! What an amazing place!!! This was my first time and we brought my son for his fourth birthday! I would say ages 4-7/8 seem to be the perfect ages for this place. My kid ran around and loved every part of it. He especially loved the earth quake table and the build and test Sports car area. I fell in love with the Lego exhibit of Kansas City!! Omg so so cool! It had all the popular KC spots and there was so much attention to detail! We didn't buy any of the overpriced food or souvenirs but we did bring our own lunch and ate it there. 2.5 hours is how long we spent here but my kids probably would have wanted to spend another hour or so. The tickets are pretty pricey when you factor in a family of four but we did it as a birthday surprise! They lose a star for cleanliness because legos were visibly dirty. I was looking at the mystery bags for Disney series and really wanted the Coco movie character - Miguel and Dante. The staff helped me with it and put it aside for next day to purchase! I'm curious...was this place only subpar because of Covid restrictions? Or is it just a tourist trap? I am glad my four-year-old was impressed because for what I paid, I was not. I would not recommend anyone go here unless they have $5-10 discount tickets. It was very crowded but that did not bother me as much because I expected it with it being a holiday weekend. Seeing the different displays created with legos was cool but there was not enough to do. You can make a Lego car and then ride it down the tracks and you can stand in line for 15 to 20 minutes for a two minute ride on some 12 person apparatus that goes in a circle and up and down. The 3-D movie was nearly impossible to see. Maybe because we had to sit in the first row, it does not work from that view but if that is the case than those seats should be removed. Thankfully it was only 10 minutes so that was not too hard to deal with. I guess I just expected more hands on things to do, so maybe it is my own fault for not googling. My kids can play with Legos at home. I expected there to be something different than what we could do at home in a $25 Legoland amusement park. read more

I love Legoland and am not even necessarily a Lego enthusiast, so to speak.. I came here for a date a few years ago during their Adults Only night. Playing and being a kid for a few hours with other adults doing the same thing was great fun. I've since also brought my 14-year-old nephew with ASD and he loves it. He is a HUGE Lego guy and there are so many things to do, see, and experience. Plus, the mini town they've built is awe-inspiring. To think, adults have this as a real, skilled job! They make a pleasant, fun experience and add to the ambiance and excellent customer service. My only complaint, if I had one, is that it's a little pricey. A fun half-day for families with young children! We had a great time and enjoyed the creative atmosphere the building areas and play zones offered for kids. MINILAND and other city-specific features make this attraction truly unique to Kansas City and Crown Center. If you are an adult fan of LEGO, there are subtle touches throughout you will appreciate, like a larger-than life-size build of the Lombardi Trophy (wow!) and other cool features like a 4D movie theater. For big kids, the VR experience is a must and totally worth the wait and additional charge. We have been back a few times now and the Annual Pass option is definitely the way to go for the value, even if you only visit twice as a group. If you are visiting on a holiday weekend, during summer or Spring Break, expect the crowds that you would find at any other experience or attraction during this chaotic peak time. If you approach with the same patience you would have at larger attractions such as theme parks during these busy periods, you will no doubt have a great time with your family. Visiting during the week means little to no lines or crowds, a totally different experience that's worth taking advantage of if you/your kids are not comfortable in busy, often chaotic settings. It's not like the LEGOLAND Theme Parks of Florida/California, but it doesn't try or claim to be. It's a different experience focused on parent & child building and creativity that's more similar to an indoor family museum or science center than theme park. The staff wasn't friendly at all nor were they very helpful when we we first arrived. There were several kids coughing and lots of runny noses, yet I didn't see a single worker cleaning or sanitizing a single thing. This place is garbage now. It was fun a couple years ago but they have failed to keep up on taking care of it. The laser game only has one working laser no matter which level of difficulty you choose. The Kingdom Quest ride has a broken screen that doesn't work halfway through the ride. The ride operator said it has been like this for a long time. The bathrooms smell like the city dump and it's overall filthy. Definitely not work the $25 per person to get inside. read more

I came into Lego land thinking it's a joyful place for kids and I've seen that some the employees are very rude and have serious face and don't make any kids happy they just rush everything all disrespectful , my kids went to ride Merlin's apprentice and there this girl she tall and has glasses and she dark skin and she made my kids feel very uncomfortable but this employer name Brandy she has helped so much and she talked to me in Spanish when I was confused about everything I will thank her so much she made our experience great!! read more

This was our first experience at LEGOLAND, and we can hope it was only mediocre due to COVID and it isn't this boring all the time. We took a few visiting friends and their kids but it was quite disappointing. When we asked the desk for a bucket of legos to use, they didn't give us any. So we wandered around and picked up random pieces that were left around by previous guests. Kind of lame. The trip cost $100+ yet we got to scrounge and use leftover pieces from other guests that didn't coordinate with any of the attractions. We were unable to build a car due to the fact we could only find one wheel laying around in the lego friends area. We did find the pizza crust for the pizzeria in the Lego Friends area, but then we couldn't find the pieces for toppings. This remained the struggle the entire time. So again, maybe it's much better when it isn't COVID. I'd suggest waiting until those things get worked out. read more

We bought annual passes for our grandchildren. We've been twice. First time was fairly packed but still fun. Second time wasn't packed but the staff seemed over it. One of the most fun rides is the shooting game roller coaster. Why does it close at 3 when they close overall at 5? Also it was my grandsons birthday so after that ride I asked for the code for a picture. There was no picture. The two attendants seemed intent on chatting with each other and I'm pretty sure if there was a picture to take they just didn't. It was his birthday, I actually really wanted that picture. Many of the helpers seemed listless and behaved as if they've had too much "kid" time. I get that but maybe transition about or something. I would post the picture but there wasn't one! read more
