We came here for a quick bite. The chef was able to make the gnocchi vegan by changing the sauce to the bell pepper one they use for the salmon dish. We also enjoyed the hummus which is already vegan. Both items were full of favor. 100% recommend

Loved our dinner here on our last night in Tahoe. We were not staying at the hotel but with two little ones, the gondola to the Ritz is a fun and free activity so we came up to spend the evening. The staff were so kind and accommodating-I can't speak highly enough of the level of service and quality of food here. They immediately got us two high chairs and a kids menu so we could order quickly for the kiddos. We really appreciated that the kids menu wasn't just fried food and burgers/fries. They had pasta as well as salmon and roasted veggies which we ordered for our 2yo and baby. I ordered the pork ramen and my husband got a chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious and came out quickly (a must when dining with tiny humans). My only slight complaint was that my margarita (mocktail) was expensive and mostly ice though it tasted great! Would highly recommend eating here even if you're not staying at the Ritz. Felt like a special occasion place but still approachable and kid-friendly.

We had a nice late lunch here after snowshoeing on the mountain. We walked to where the ATV picks you up by the ski school and took the short ride up to the Ritz Carlton building. At about 2pm it was easy to find a seat. We ordered two Wedge Salads and I got a glass of rose. The veggies in the salad were pretty standard, I could have used more onions, and the salad dressing was really good. This is a nice stop to try and check out. Afterwards we took their gondola back down to the village.

The Living Room is super cozy with couches, fireplaces and tv's. We opted for bar seating and met Bryce. He was great with recommendations and really wanted to craft cocktails for your palette. The Ritz Carlton guest favorite is Smoky Pine, which was Bryce's recipe. Not into drinking? He makes a great mocktail, just let him know if you tend to lean more into savory or sweet drinks. The bison chili is gluten free and dairy free if you opt out of the sour cream, so I did that. My husband did the Ritz Carlton burger and loved it. Not staying at the Ritz? You can hit the slopes and grab lunch here at living room, then hop back on the mountain.

I love eating here every time I am in Northstar. It is open seating and has beautiful fireplaces, couches to relax, and IG worthy backgrounds. Jennifer, perfectly timed all my courses and offered incredible service. This hotel, in general, remembers. Jennifer remembers that i like Black tea for instance and my name after only meeting me once. Ambiance is always lively and the bar has delicious winter cocktails and whiskey to warm you right up. This is a great place to meet friends and share fondue, bone marrow, smores and scrumptious burgers.

This is great place to have snack, lunch or dinner while you are in Ritz-Carlton, Truckee, ca. They have a great service ( should be 10 stars ) and cocktails drink ( should be 10 stars too. if it doesn't listed on the menu you asked the server or bartender to make it ). They make New York sour for me. The food was was just ok. Brisket nachos does not come with salsa and you can even order side salsa.

Drinks were tasty if overpriced. Food was pretty good, though we only tried a couple of things - a salad and nachos. Service was top-notch. They have really good staff here. The popcorn they provided us when we sat down was burnt... Two days in a row. Very bizarre. Better not to serve it. 1 star for the popcorn, 3 stars for the drinks and food, and 5 stars for the service... I'll call it a 4.

Beautiful space and amazing food/drinks! Great place to unwind from the day. First Order: The Bee's Bows Second Order: Squad Goals & Steak Fries Environment: Absolutely beautiful 3-story open space with a huge spire in the middle of the hay houses three fireplaces on multiple sides. The space has plenty of couches, chairs and conversation areas to enjoy with family and friends. Verdict: Great service. Definite must to enjoy drinks and light snacks before or after dinner. Beautiful space to pass some time without technology. Tips: find a space near the fireplaces. They are able to customize food options. Next Time: might try to just have dinner and drinks in the living room.

I'm giving this place 5 stars for the service mostly. Our server, Ashtiano, was the sweetest. He made a drink recommendation which I didn't end up liking but I pretended to like it but he somehow knew and took it off my bill. We were just there for drinks and appetizers so we didn't order any entrees but I got the french onion soup and asked for extra cheese and got exactly that. It was very good, I would get it again.

Hamburger, side salad and brisket nachos.

Fantastic burger (bun is too big tho) and great side salad, and great brisket nachos. I'd get both again. Service is hit or miss. We asked for extra sauce for nachos and he never came back and then we had to ask another person and she finally brought it but our nachos were completely cold by then. Great lobby to hang out when you're staying at the Ritz.

Naysha is the most amazing server! She not only is super polite, informative, patient and helpful, but she also found our credit card and returned it to us!!! She deserves many bonuses and accolades, thank you!

We got lucky and managed to grab some seats around the fire pit both days we were there. Something about this communal pit puts folks in a good mood --- the first day the woman next to me whipped out marshmellows and sticks from her some ice cooler and shared them all around the fire. It was great! A lot of laughter and stories about the slopes ensued and we weren't simply strangers around the same fire anymore. The second day we purchased a smores kit from the bar and roasted marshmellows with the kids again. This seemed to unleash the kid in others near us. Two pairs of folks who didn't know each other, struck up a deal and pooled their money to get their own kit which they shared. The bartenders are fun --- have them make you thier specialty drink a "Dirty Snowman," (hot chocolate, vanilla flavored vodka and Bailey's). These folks also make an awesome hot apple pie (the drink, not the pastry). My kids give the hot apple cider here two thumbs up. If you have proficient ice skating kids with you, unleash them on the rink on their own. They can burn excess steam within your full view. It's a beautiful thing to be able to drive home in peace with an exhausted skier/skater snoozing in the back!

My fiancé and I were celebrating our ENGAGEMENT with a party of 9. We had been looking forward to this place for SO long and were so excited to spend an entire evening here. For VERY important context, both my fiancé and I were restaurant and bar managers for several years. Neither of us have ever raised our voice at anybody working at a restaurant, bar, etc. We are literally an entire crew of service workers or former service workers who are very respectful of the entire industry and its practices. When we walked up, the older blonde woman working the front was extremely hostile and rude from the jump. I was trying to ask questions about the venue, food options, etc before we went in, and she began barking at us for IDs immediately. Not a single hi, welcome in, etc. Just immediately aggressive. My fiancé, who is 27, gave her his Oregon ID. Considering this state is literally a few hours away, you would think they are fairly familiar with this ID, but apparently not! She began aggressively and repeatedly bending the ID to the point we sincerely thought it was going to snap it in half. Despite it being obviously real after looking at it under a light (Oregon has very specific and complicated patterns, it's widely known as the hardest ID to make a fake of), she said she didn't believe that it was real. We were a bit baffled, and insisted it definitely was. She asked my partner what his zip code was, and because we had just moved, he gave her our current zip before realizing she meant the one on his ID. She laughed and said "nope, i'm keeping this! This is a fake". She said because he said the zip code wrong, she wasn't going to give it back. At this point I got angry. I told her that 1. It is 1000% a real ID and 2. It is completely illegal to hold somebody's ID hostage. Her and her coworker got really defensive and told me to "just calm down" despite her continuously bending it and laughing. She kept saying "I'm allowed to keep it if it's fake" which it WASNT. It is completely illegal what she was doing. This is THEFT OF PROPERTY, so I was absolutely not going to calm down. My fiancé called his parents to hopefully get a photo of his passport to diffuse the situation. The older woman who was holding us hostage demanded to TAKE HIS PHONE and speak to his mom. She then grabbed it and walked all the way down the sidewalk, spinning around and giggling. It was one of the most bizarre things I had ever witnessed, and frankly, we believe she was intoxicated. Her coworkers looked incredibly embarrassed and wouldn't even make eye contact with us. She finally came back and we took the ID and phone back from her. She never once apologized for stealing our property, almost breaking it, and falsely accusing us of committing a crime. Not even an inkling of remorse. Just giggling. I told her how absolutely unprofessional and illegal everything she just did was. Luckily, we have legal resources that we will absolutely be exploring this week, because no patron deserves to be held hostage, have their property stolen, and not even receive an apology. Not only did RMU tarnish what was supposed to be one of the happiest nights of our lives, they lost out on thousands of dollars (that we spent elsewhere that night) from our party because their hostess had a major power trip. To make matters even worse, we had other folks join up with us later that night who also stopped by RMU and had equally unpleasant experiences. They all said that the same rude hostess was bending the ever loving life out of their IDs and being incredibly snarky.

The quality of the food, and the care that used to go into preparing and presenting it, has completely fallen off a cliff. During my most recent visit this week I noticed that much of the kitchen staff seemed to be different from the team I've seen over the past few years. The pizza was genuinely disappointing. The crust lacked flavor, the toppings were sparse and it felt like something that had been rushed out of the kitchen with little attention to detail. Even the presentation was careless, which was surprising because this restaurant used to take pride in what they served. It's frustrating to see a place that I used to recommend decline this much. I really hope the upper management takes a look at what's happening to the restaurant because the Old Town Tap I used to enjoy no longer seems to exist.
