Stopped in on a Thursday night while in town for business. I was a little leery about a strip mall bar but it was within walking distance of my hotel, The Quality Inn, and all the reviews seemed decent. Plus, an employee at the State Store down the way highly recommended their beer selection. The restaurant area was pretty packed but I had no trouble finding a spot at the bar. They have a large draft selection which is broadcast on a tv above the taps. However, it only shows a few selections at a time and you have to watch the whole loop to see the complete list. When I asked if they had a printed list one of the bar tenders begrudgingly pointed to the TV and said there's the list. Alrighty then. But later, when I commented on the extensive list to the other younger bar tender he magically made a printed list appear. Inconsistent staff manners aside, the beers were excellent (a bit pricey though) and paired well with my salad, wait what? Yeah, I was that guy that ordered a salad in a beer bar. Don't judge me, it was their Signature Salad and it was fantastic! I added shrimp for an extra charge and no lie they were some of the biggest I have ever seen. The house balsamic was incredible too. But be warned the salad was obnoxiously huge; big enough for a family of four to share. In fact, as I sat at the bar watching other orders come out "huge" is the best word I would use to describe most of their dishes. But they all looked amazing. Besides, the great beers and the delicious salad the salt & pepper shakers were a highlight. Kitschy, but added some character to the dining experience. Overall, if I'm back in town I'll definitely stop in again for some beers but I'll definitely have to try something other than a salad. Maybe the grumpy bartender will have a recommendation. It pains me to do this, but with the move and obvious growth...comes a watered down experience that leaves me with no other choice but to give the new location just 2 stars. Went both Saturday evening and yesterday (Monday). I always find it odd when you get better service when the place is jamming, versus us being one of 6 tables in the place and almost begging for service, but that was the case this past trip to the area. Some of the food (wings) were just as great as I remember, but my caesar salad was dripping in so much dressing, it was just overkill. The "gourmet" spicy ranch grilled chicken wrap was some chicken in a wrap with cheddar cheese, seriously two small pieces of lettuce in the entire thing and no spice or ranch to be found. Fries were also as great as I reviewed when I visited the original location. Service was friendly enough, but the place has lost that welcomed feel that I enjoyed on previous visits. I'll admit, the craft beer prices had me shaking my head. $8.50 for a pint of any beer is not cool. Besides Miller Lite, all of the craft options were overpriced. We are not in NYC or Philly. DUNMORE, people. We went to Ale Mary's on Sunday and their pints were $3-$4 for some of their craft offerings. Happy to see them doing so well, but I have lost the excitement to return, sadly. read more

We are traveling & guy at motel recommend this place. When we arrived we were told 10- 15 minute wait & it was about 20 minutes. We both ordered the 8 oz New York strip. My husband got the French onion soup & French fries, while I got the house salad & bake potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly & was very good. The Loading Dock is always on point. It starts with their meticulous owner, who I'm pretty sure has OCD but in a good way. He will walk around like the bald eagle that he is making sure everything is clean and tidy. EAGLE EYES is what I call him. This makes the restaurant very clean and welcoming. The only downsize to that personality is I bet he is difficult to work for... Oh well, not there for a job! The food is good and portion sizes are great. I will recommend this place for anyone in the area looking for a nice size meal with a great price. I'd give it a 3.5 stars but I can't. So by default I give them a 4 star rating. Enjoy. read more

I will NEVER go here again. We came in and said we would take bar seats or a table. Another couple came in AFTER us and the host / owner decided to seat them ahead of us. When I confronted him he said, "Mistakes get made." No they're not made. You and I made eye contact when you tried to seat them ahead of us. I said we are waiting for the bar as well. Came here after work one night (around 8:00pm) and the place was packed! I was with a few coworkers and we were able to get a seat at the bar after a local offered to move over a seat. I noticed that people kept coming in and the turnover on the tables were really quick. When we ordered, we each tried different meals and drinks. All the meals were great (BBQ Burger, Local Sandwich, and Wings with special sauce). The drinks were cold and they offered a wide variety. If you order something with fries as a side get ready to have your friends help as it takes up the entire plate! I only have ever gotten your salads or the veggie wrap, being a vegetarian, and it is delicious. I almost always order to go orders, and the occasional 45 minute wait is much deserved considering how crazy busy this place is all the time. The wrap is ways consistently awesome, and I love their fries. The portions are huge, a salad could feed a small family for days. The prices are reasonable. When I occasionally meet a friend for a beer the bartenders are always attentive and friendly. The owner, Anthony, is the epitome of customer service. He is welcoming to all, remembers so many of his patrons names, consistently checks on his customers, and the place is immaculately clean. I love you, Loading Dock. read more

I know so many people that love this place but I just don't get it. It's obvious that the food is prepared well ahead of being served. My burger must have been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour or so and then reheated in a microwave. I can't say that's what happened but it definitely tasted that way. The soup tasted like it came from a can. I tried the wings and they were pretty good. They do give you very large portions but I'd rather have smaller portion with freshly made food. Unfortunately, too many people associate large potions with good food. Not a fan. read more

Great service. We sat at the bar and only had drinks and an appetizer. Had the onion rings, came with a ranch dip, but the bar manager offered us a spicy dip which was incredible and kept bringing refills as needed. My favorite restaurant around NorthEastPA! Of course food choice is fairly subjective, but I've never gone anywhere else that was as consistently fantastic. From the large portions to the best wings sauces, there isn't anything negative I can say about this place. Having a large and consistently rotating selection of craft beer also helps. The only thing to be aware of is that if you go after 6:00 on pretty much any given night, you will be waiting for a table. read more

The fam went here to celebrate my moms birthday and we had the best time. We got so much food that my dad joked he was going to need to put the leftovers in the bed of his pickup truck! The waitress was amazing and fun and helped add to the birhtday festivities by making my mom feel special! Had a great meal there tonight! Came here because of a recommendation and the people that recommended it was spot on. Portions were huge!! I had the Buffalo Chicken hoagie which was awesome. I tried the seafood bisque of someone else that was sitting at the table and it was so good I ordered one togo to have for lunch tomorrow. Everyone at our table was very happy with all their food which included the appetizer portion of fish and chips(larger than most other places full portions), burger, nachos, and Loading Dock signature Salad which was not only huge but extremely good! We were traveling and a local highly recommended this place. I have to totally agree with the previous reviews. The owner runs a tight ship and it shows all around. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We ordered wings, a burger and cheese steak. Nice size orders and a heaping side of fries. I also really appreciated that once our food came every single employee that walked by our table stopped to ask if everything was ok and if we needed everything. I really hate it when a place drops of your food and then you don't see the waiter or anyone else for 20 minutes and then they ask was it ok? Really nice place inside to eat, huge portions for your money! Servers tend to be really rude. Avoid lunch time because that's when it's really horrible. I waited 1 hour for chicken for my salad. (Literally!) The salad I ordered originally comes with chicken but they forgot it. (The loading dock signature salad) After waiting one hour, I still didn't receive the chicken, the person I was dinning with finished their food. Finally I decided to get up and leave, I was done waiting. Upon leaving I was questioned why I wasn't paying for my salad. (when I didn't eat anything at all). A family-friendly bar with an excellent selection of brews, enormous food portions, and the option to watch sports. It's usually absolutely packed, but I've been there on Thursday nights and it's a good place to watch a game. The food varies in nature, and anyone from a vegetarian to a meat-lover can enjoy a meal here. The beers are, however, pricey (NYC prices), but the food is relatively cheap. As mentioned previously- the portions are enormous. The staff can sometimes be short tempered- so know what you want to order. It also closes relatively early, so if you want a late night meal, or if you want to watch o a West coast game- this might not be the place for you. read more

We have been going to the loading dock for years, long before they were in the new place. We have always just walked in and sat at the bar. Tonight, a busy Friday night, we fully expected a wait. We were told we were put on first available and went to stand and wait. After about 10 minutes, 2 bar seats opened up. We walked over, took our coats off, and proceeded to sit down. The bartender asked us if they had called our names. We said no, because we have never once had to reserve BAR SEATS. The bartender AND owner then proceeded to tell us we could not sit at the bar, they were not our seats, and that we had to wait. Needless to say we put our coats on and left and we will NEVER be back. read more

One of my girl and I top 5 restaurants. Every time I have ever been here the service has been at least an 8 out of 10 and the preparation of the food has always been a 10 out of 10. Place has a wide assortment if tap beers as week as a bottled selection and all of the staff are knowledgable to help you with your selection. Mixed drinks are always spot on as well. The new location is tastefully for all with emphasis on the food first and bar second. Everything is always tastefully done and the entire staff exudes the same level of respect and confidence. Great place for the friends or to take a date... Even the parents if need be lol . My only complaint about the food and restaurant as a whole is that I do not get to go enough!!! read more

In a small down that has seen much better economic days....this joint is packed nightly. The only down side here is that you may wait for a table even at 9pm on Wednesday. Best brew selection in town. Fries are an amazing experience that feels like the perfect intersection of curly fries, steak fries, and baked potato wedges. 8 bucks will get you a meal that you struggle to complete. Pretzel melts are the best value though I wish they used fresher/thicker cuts of meat. Service a tad slow and curt....seems like they are perhaps slightly jaded by how popular the place is. First, the Loading Dock has awesome food. However the customer service/management needs work. After finding a bone in my Chicken Wrap, I contacted the waitress which promptly took the rest of the meal and told me that she was going to talk to the manager. Obviously I knew the meal would be taken off the bill. What I was surprised at was the manager didn't even come to talk to me, nor was I offered to a meal on the house. There is no doubt if a restaurant takes the rest of your meal you should not have to pay for it, because they took it. But I was most surprised that the manager didn't come by nor was I offered something on the house after I could have swelled a bone. Luckily I was able to stop my insulin. Food is somewhat typical Chili's, Friendly's, Applebee's type, maybe a little better. The really nice and unique aspect of this restaurant is not only do they have a revolving selection of micro and big beer on draft, but a pretty cool big screen TV above the bar that gives all the stats on the current selections, including name, brewery, alcohol content, IBUs, and even the amount left in the keg - pretty cool. I really want to love this place. I simply can't. The wings are good, sometimes great. 2 visits ago my dining partner had a screw in his salad. Thank God he's a patient eater and discovered it. We told who we though was a waiter, he made a joke and took nothing off of the bill. The service is touch and go. Some are great most are God awful. Closed on Sundays even during football season ? WTF? Oh so that "waiter" turned out to be the owner. Do you want to eat at a restaurant who serves screws you bite into then laughs. Our whole bill should have been comped. If you're looking for a lot of bang for your buck then this is the place for you. The food is not the best in the area but it is not bad and you get A LOT. One time I got a chicken Cesar salad wrap and it was really hot like the lettuce was really hot and wilted but that's the only bad experience I can think of food wise. The service is good but there is one waitress who I have had a couple times who is always very rude but it's just the one lady. The ambiance is very nice, very nice set up and the wait is never too long. read more
