Stopped here on my way home from Canada. Had a chicken salad, which was delicious. It had huge pieces of chicken, tomatoes, blue cheese, apples, walnuts and craisens. Also had an onion soup which was awesome. Kiddo has a hamburger which was made fresh, nothing frozen here. The restaurant was clean and restrooms were clean and modern. A hidden Gem in Dunmore. Squished between a client and Big Lots, The Loading Dock can be passed by easily from the street. From the outside, it doesn't look rather appealing but once you go in you are completely surprised by the beauty of this little restaurant. On first inspection we gave our number and was told there would be a 20 to 30 minute wait, but to our surprise we were seated and had gotten our drinks within 10 to 15 minutes. The menu was large, but not intimidating with lots of options for the more picky eaters. The food was very good! I got the ranch and bacon chicken wrap with fries! It was great! Some very good fries. A follow guest ordered the chef salad and it was HUGE. The portion of large! A single full size salad could feed two people! All in all this restaurant is quint and clean. I love this place! I have been to it when it was in its old location behind Big Lots and once since it's moved to its current location. The place can get very busy and it's with good reason; the restaurant is pretty great overall. The service is very attentive and I had no issues what-so-ever. I had a buffalo chicken salad, which was pretty good, but I wouldn't call it "buffalo" since they use their own sauce that's more sweet that hot. The beer selection is fantastic (the reason I started coming here in the first place) and the prices are very, very good. It's a great place overall and I'll definitely be trying to come back here when I'm in the area! read more

I stopped here while exploring the area around Scranton, PA while on a skiing trip. We arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday night and were seated promptly. The prices are great, and so is the amount of food you get for the price. I ordered a cheesesteak which was good and full of flavor. The only thing I'd change - add a little more cheese. The French onion soup is covered in cheesy goodness. If you love buffalo sauce + cheesy fries - go for the firecracker fries. You won't regret it! Our server checked on us consistently without hovering. Our drinks were always full. I ordered the "Orange is the New Ale" and it was surprisingly pleasant. It reminded me of a hard orange soda. The outside of the building isn't appealing, but what drew me in was the yelp reviews. There is ample parking directly in front of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive. Always had great food here before, but appetizer platter was horrible. Nothing has any flavor, wing sauce tastes like syrup and nothing else. Pirogies gummy and filled with tasteless paste, as well as being soggy from being tossed in the wing syrup. Stuffed mushrooms almost completely raw, tasteless and covered with raw bread crumbs. Allegedly they had crab in the stuffing but I didn't taste anything at all, maybe a vague sweetness from what looked like marinara sauce. Big hunks of raw celery in the stuffing. Guess you should stick to the beers. Service was terrible as well. Won't be back, too many restaurants that actually try in the area. read more

When you're feeling adventurous and want to take part in the craft beer parade go here. They have a good and large assortment of craft beers from different places in the US. I tried the Funk out of Pittstown,PA. Luckily I had walked here so no problem walking out but definitely had the great IPA kick I like in an IPA. Other names I loved where Florida Cracker and Wicked Weed. A sense of humor is a good sign in a craft beer. Located in a typical strip mall in modern America but go in, be courageous and enjoy the friendly staff. Also the menu looked decent and the portions are huge. read more

I was hesitant to come inside, but so glad we did! We were greeted by an amazingly friendly gentleman at the front door who got us seated immediately. Our server came almost instantaneously, and got us our drinks and the beer menu. Such a great selection of local and interesting craft brews, as well as the usual offerings. We ordered perogies, French onion soup, salad and a chicken hoagie. The food came out quickly and was fresh and delicious. The salad was so big, I barely made a dent in it! Even the expediter that brought our food was just so friendly! We had a great time and wish we lived closer - this would be our new hangout! I don't get it. I've tried the Loading Dock twice but have not been impressed. There is a significant wait (45 minutes the day after Christmas) and you can't go to the bar while waiting for a table to open. (They only announce tables from a waiting area detached from the bar. Get a buzzer!) There is a sizable beer list with about 25 options, but without prices or volumes. To figure out how much a beer costs, and in what size, you have to cross reference TVs that rotate through the beer list. If you are not careful, expect considerable sticker shock as I once accidentally ordered a $9 pint. This is my biggest beef with the Loading Dock The beer prices are high--way too high for the area. I should be able to get a decent IPA for $5. Most of there selection is over $6.5, and many of the beers served in 10oz glasses. Moreover, their beer selection is eccentric. They generally do not have trusted brewers like Great Lakes or Sierra Nevada. Of the beers that were from craft manufacturers I was familiar with, the beers offered were not staples. I had to Google each of the different beers I was considering. Even then, I was not excited about my selection. Probably because after all of the deliberation and $6.5, I expected something truly extraordinary. Like the Loading Dock in general the wait and the price did not live up to the hype. The food is... fine. They have decent bar food. I ordered the signature wrap, trying to eat a bit on the lighter side. My plan backfired. Their "special sauce" was too sweet for my taste. The "large portions" others have praised in my experience translated to half a plate of fries. It was fries with a side of sandwhich. A pickle with a sandwich would be appreciated to help balance the oiliness of a thousand fries and the sweetness of the wrap. If you are traveling through, the Loading Dock will do. (It's conveniently off 81.) But if you are a local, there are better options available. read more

Food is great, portions are super and the prices are astonishingly reasonable. $8.25 for a dozen of the best clams my wife ever had??? They're $12-13 most other places without the butter garlic bath. The place was packed when we first arrived, about 5:45 on a Friday night - apparently that is the norm though! I do have to say we didn't wait for very long as a lot of people were ordering to-go and they're quick to fill up tables. Amazing beer selection on tap! Sours and ciders available = my kind of place. Aside from the beer selection, the food was delicious! My husband and I stopped here for dinner while in the area to meet up with my friend that lives here -- she suggested the Caesar parmesan wings and the signature wrap. The wings were perfectly done (nice and crispy with adequate amount of sauce) ... but the signature wrap was seriously mouth-watering and HUGE - I wanted so bad to finish it but just didn't have the room. First time at this place and will be the last and to be honest it was not about the food. Me and two other guys were working near it and one said the food was good and we should go for lunch. Maybe 20 people in at the time .. yeah ok.. Walked in the owner seated us .. waitress brought our drinks ... meantime 2 other tables were seated like 5 minutes after us I watched them get their drinks .. and then the waitress took their orders ... uhhh we were seated 10 minutes already and our orders werent taken yet ...finally after sitting for like 15 minutes the waitress finally took our order... After another 20 minutes my one friend jestured to the owner to come over , he stands like 10 feet away and yells yeah what do you want .. so my friend yelled back that we have been waiting like a half hour for our order and people that were seated 5 minutes after us arriving have their stuff and why dont we . He then goes to the back and said it will be right out and that his burgers are made fresh and take awhile to make ( 30 minutes ??).. and we all felt like we were getting yelled at for asking ... I understand this is not a fast food place but 1 burger and 2 wraps should not take that long to make and then to be almost told off ... and yelled at ?? Never again.. Had dinner here one night after we discovered our intended target was closed for the night. The menu is varied - Italian, Asian, American - but it's all the typical type of food. The crowd is just as varied - co-workers, families, couples, guys watching the TV. It's a little loud for me but about what you'd expect for a bar/grill. The food was good. I had the chicken stir fry and my friend had the salmon. He cleaned his plate, and I had enough for 2 more meals. Service was friendly and prompt.
