Excellent service, food, and drinks. There was almost no one there at the time, so it was on the quieter side. I can imagine it gets very loud when busy though considering how much sound echoed. Only reason I can't give it a 5 is because of how pricey it is. I get that it's the Fairmont, but you can go elsewhere downtown and get more for the same/better quality. read more

Located in the Fairmont Pacific Rim. It has got to be one of the busiest hotel bars I've come across - it's busy all the time and with a really elegant, classy atmosphere. Came here for cocktails and appetizers during our stay at the hotel. We got a high top next to the window so it was fun to enjoy our drinks, oysters, and sushi while people watching. Service was friendly and fast, cocktails and food were delicious. We had a great time here! read more

I found this oasis away from the crowds and noise at Canada Place back in May 2019 and have returned whenever I'm in Vancouver. The quality of their drinks and food is a step above other places I've frequented in the city. It doesn't hurt that one can enjoy one's meal in peace and quiet ... It's like being at a high-end hotel in Tokyo, peaceful and serene. This time I brought my sister-in-law (SIL) to experience this venue ... she ordered a Sashimi Salad ($27), and I had the Sashimi Platter ($80) and two pieces of Ama Ebi ($14). We had several Empress gin and tonics. I love that they bring you a bottle of high-quality tonic water ... I like my gin & tonics mixed 2 to 1 (gin to tonic water) so I appreciate being able to tailor my drinks. I love the sashimi platter ... There are three thick pieces of eight kinds of fish artfully presented. One disappointment, they don't present the heads of the Ama Ebi deep fried ... that's a crunchy taste treat that I love. We were going to eat upstairs, but were mistakenly told that the brunch was à la cart when it is prix fixe. We weren't that hungry and we were also trying to avoid alcohol. We went downstairs immediately seated at 1:30 PM on a Saturday next to an open full length window. The day was very pleasant in the shadow of the sun so this was very nice. Our server arrived properly to take our order and express no disappointment when we ordered tapwater rather than sparkling. My wife is vegetarian so she did most of the ordering, but I saw Bison Carpaccio on the menu and placed an order for that. I support eating bison whenever I can. My carpaccio came with arugula and sliced pickled onions and Parmesan cheese slivers, but interestingly, no capers or pink peppercorns. It tasted very much like roast beef, which is to say it was delicious. My wife had ordered the truffle grilled cheese, which she devoured along with the rosemary fries it comes with. Nice to the usual garlic fries. They were crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. We probably would've been fine, in terms of being full, if we had not ordered the beet salad with pesto. But we did, and we did our duty by it. We spent a lot of time at the lobby lounge bar. Came here 3 times for sushi because it's really good. They use real crab for cali roll as well as they have great miso, salmon motoyaki roll, lobster roll was great and of course cocktails! My favorite was strawberry cocktail, my husband also took mocktails they have great selection. Also they prioritize hotel guests so you don't have to wait long. We also enjoyed live music in the evening. I am not sure about rest of the food menu didn't look healthy to me so we just took cheese board which was OK but nothing special. Food & drink here pricey as heck but absolutely hits the spot in my belly! If you like having sandwiches for dinner ... yikes ... I heard the Pesto Chicken was good. We're staying at the Fairmont and we decided to grab a quick drink and bite here before walking around the city. For drinks, we ordered the port poached pear and harvest peach cocktails. They were okay, nothing amazing and definitely not worth $24 each. Crazy expensive for drinks. For food, we ordered the spiced chicken sandwich to share and we loved it. Very tasty! They also gave us little complimentary snacks - sesame sticks and wasabi covered peas and a trail mix. The service was just okay. Our server was sweet but we didn't see much of her and it was slow. We unfortunately waited awhile for our food to come out and to ask her for the bill. Great ambiance! There's high top tables, regular tables, and lounge seating and it's very modern. We enjoyed the live music which happens from 5-10pm. I personally wouldn't come back here if we weren't staying at the Fairmont. Over $80 for two drinks and one entree but hotel food is always pricier, especially at a nice one, so I get it. But overall great vibe here and convenient if you're staying at this hotel! read more

The space is beautiful, just like the rest of the hotel. The food was disappointing though. I have been to a few sushi places in Vancouver, from mid tier to expensive ones, they all didn't disappoint. This meal was disappointing, especially given the price point. The lobster roll didn't really have any unique flavours. The roll also fell apart really easily. The flavours just didn't work really well. The miso soup tasted bland; I have had better at ayce places. The nigiri was average at best, the ingredients just didn't taste premium. The waitress suggested was hotate motoyaki nigiri which was torched scallop, and it was really good, probably my favourite out of my entire meal. Given the miso soup was $10, the lobster roll was $33 and the nigiri ranged from $7-8/ piece, I was truly disappointed. read more

If you're curious as to what the lunch omakase by masayoshi @ pac rim looks like. Well, this is what a couple of food bloggers in vancouver uploaded on instagram VS what was presented to us when we ordered it. (i get that they probably got sponsored to make this reel but the difference was just ridiculous) My friends and I wanted to try it since we saw it on instagram and the video made it look so appealing. We all love omakase experiences and conveniently we were going to willowstream spa thats upstairs at the hotel in the afternoon. Unfortunately this meal was short of an experience. The food was mediocre. The whole meal was plated nicely on a little platter for each person but the server did not explain to us what was presented. The only thing that came out separately was the little dessert at the end. (which was really good) After the dessert came out we were still hungry so we had to order a salad. It was a super light lunch to say the least. With tax and tip it came out to $140 per person. Didn't really think this meal was worth it at all. The Pacific Rim Fairmont is a luxurious hotel with some great bars. You pay for the pleasure, but it's worth it. The Lobby Bar is huge, taking up most of the gigantic first floor lobby of the hotel. It can be intimidating, but screw it. Let the people at the front seat you, knowing you are as cool as anyone else. A band was playing, but we were sat at the very end of the bar, and we might as well be in San Diego. That's how far we were from the band. It didn't matter. Our bartender was friendly and gracious. I didn't get his name, but he had straight long hair. I was envious. My cocktail was good and my wife's Chablis was crisp and dry. Entertainment was provided by the eclectic crowd, making the band superfluous. There was a lot to look at, no matter what your taste might be. The Lobby Bar at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel provides a fabulous experience. Who needs a room. I would sleep in the Lobby Bar. read more

3.75/5 but I'll round to 4 Located in the Fairmont hotel, this lobby lounge is a very casual, easy dining experience. Servers, sushi chefs, and hostesses were all kind and service was prompt. Food however was not my favorite. We wanted the omakase and I made reservations about a week out. I thought my reservation was for omakase, but they had told me I needed to give them a 24-hour notice. I called the hotel to confirm after I made my reservation and she told me I could just make an omakase reservation online so that was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, there was lots of variety to choose from. Pac Rim lunch: 3.75/5. This platter was about 50 CAD and included sashimi, nigiri, and two rolls, and a mini seaweed salad. I would say this was worth it for the quantity to price, but the flavors and fish were not my favorite. The seared salmon roll (forgot the name) was really great and the most memorable on the plate. Otherwise, I didn't find the fish too flavorful. Chirashi bowl: 3/5. The price was expensive for what it was and portions were quite small compared to other places. The uni was really great and fresh though! I wouldn't come back personally but it was a decent experience. read more

This review is strictly based on service, drinks and the entertainment (aka people watching). Im obsessed with this bar for all reasons listed above. This is one of those hotel bars that doesn't feel like a typical "hotel bar" (bland with sad plants) this hotel bar is the place to be on a work night or Friday night. I've come to the lobby bar for many different events, coworkers drinks, mom and daughter drinks and sometimes my bf and I will just pop over to have a drink and people watch. This bar is full of characters and we've seen many men strike out here which is honestly quite entertaining to watch because it's so not subtle. This bar feels like many people go to be seen. I like that they're also a live music venue and the layout is perfect for both a cozy winter night inside or a warm summer night with the indoor outdoor style space. Situated in the beautiful lobby of the pac rim, it's the perfect place to roll up and have a cocktail before dinner at Botanist (upstairs - highly reco) I also like that the pac rim is an upscale hotel with zero pretension when it comes to the experiences I've had there with staff etc. it's just a fun joint all around and I'll certainly be back! Drinks are yummy, abit pricy but hey at least you'll be entertained too! read more

Surmised to see how quiet it was on a Sunday especially since they seemed quite set in specific times.. started with lovely spot prawn miso soup. Wow, from a 2 star to a 5 star rating! The Lobby Lounge Raw Bar is one of my favorite brunch places in Vancouver. Besides having a beautiful ambience (piano playing in background), the food and service was spectacular. Brunch is a 5 course cocktail brunch set menu and I highly recommend adding the cocktail pairing. $42 a person + $28 on top if you want the cocktail pairing. First course is a choice between Red Tuna Tataki or Torched Wagyu Beef Salad. I went with the salad and it was a good opener. Light and tasty. The cocktail pairing was bloody Mary, but I chose the Light-Zaiten instead, which was gin, green tea, rosemary and cucumber. Very refreshing and happy with my choice. A palate opener. Second course is their Signature Bacon and Sable Miso soup. This was the best miso soup I've ever had. So delicate, smokey and full of umami flavor. Cocktail pairing was called Beer Makes Miso Happy - Grand Marnier, wheat beer, ginger and lime. I wasn't crazy about this cocktail, but it paired well with the soup. Third course is a choice between Wild Salmon Motoyaki Benny and Kurobuta Pork Kakuni. I chose the Benny, which was topped with ikura, miso hollandaise sauce, avocado and sweet milk bread. Salmon was not overcooked at all. Such an interesting and delicious spin on fushion eggs benedict. The egg yolk was medium rare. The cocktail was Pepe Le Pew, which was Lillet rosé, sherry and sparkling brut. The cocktail helped cut the richness of the Wild Salmon Motoyaki Benny and who doesn't love a little bubbly in the morning? Fourth course is the Sushi Omakase and since I am a huge sushi fan, I was in my happy place. 5 pieces of sushi - red tuna, scallop, salmon, dungeness crab and hamachi. Fresh and well prepared. Cocktail pairing was Sparkling Junmai Sake. It was on the sweeter side and I still enjoyed it. Fifth course is the Yakult Shooter which was 3 things, plum gelée, pear, matcha green tea, black sesame powder, yuzu pear. Dessert was likely my least favorite dish, but that's fine, I was full anyway. Don't expect anything too sweet, but it also made sense to end on a lighter note. Great finisher. The cocktail pairing, Wakayama Beach was perfect, - gin, yuzu, basil, coconut water and ginger. Hi there, My name is Shayne De Wildt. On January 1st 2021 at approximately 8 pm I was staying at the Pinnacle Hotel on the 8th floor. I called to place an order. I have Cerebral Palsy and a speech impediment and the lady who took my order could not understand me. I am unimpressed with how this situation was handled. Rather than ask for clarification I could hear them talking amongst one another in the background. They were laughing and I heard one of them ask the other whether or not I was Handicapped. This made me very upset so I hung up the phone. I do not appreciate being laughed at very publicly because I could very clearly hear them. This is very unprofessional, hurtful, and unacceptable. Came here for the long table omakase experience. It's a good bargain for omakase at $50! We each had a miso soup, 4 appetizers, 6 pieces of sushi, 4 pcs of nigiri, and 2 different oysters. The chef explained all the dishes, but I wish they used their ipad wine menu to list the omakase of the day instead! The miso soup was quite salty, and one of the sushi rolls was squished. Other than that, the food was pretty good! The scallop appetizer was amazing. Definitely come here with a group of friends! read more

The Lobby Lounge is arguably one of the best lounges in Vancouver, with a gorgeous interior design, a team a good-looking staff, amazing and fresh sushi, comfortable seating and a stunning location. Food-wise, I would rate their Japanese cuisine quite high up, among the ranks of Miku, Tojo's and Minami! Chef Taka Omi is truly a culinary genius, creating absolutely gorgeous sushi rolls which are both Ocean Wise (seafood sustainable) and delicious. I have heard a few complaints about the service here but I don't blame them because the Lobby Lounge is usually extremely packed (even at 9pm on a Thursday night!) but we were fortunate enough to have an extremely accommodating waitress who kept our drink glasses full! I was actually here for a company event but after looking at their menu, I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford coming back! PS. The live music was amazing! The male artist's rendition of Sia's Chandelier was unlike anything I've heard before. read more

3 reasons why I'm a fan of the Lobby Lounge: 1. Yummy cocktails. I usually tend to only get 1 or 2 because they are $$$$ priced. But, you know what you're paying before you come in here. I mean, it's the Fairmont. This isn't a place where you take shots and leave. Come in, sit down, enjoy a cocktail, and appreciate the ambiance. Oh, and enjoy the spiced cashews. They're my fave. 2. The live music. They have live music every night of the week and every person I've heard, has been wonderful. Maybe a lot of people don't come here for the music, but as a live music fan, I most definitely appreciate it. 3. The sushi bar. As a sushi snob, I have to give credit where credit is due. And the sushi at the Lobby Lounge is ah-mazing. Fresh and full of flavour, it hits your sushi craving right in the spot. i hadn't seen Karen in a while and we decided today was the time to remedy that. Her friend Ken Lee suggested the Lobby Lounge for a leisurely brunch. He said we should make sure we got there early enough as there was a 5 course brunch that we HAD to try and we needed enough time to savour it properly. We decided to go that route and share everything. The waiter also suggested we get the drink pairings to go with each course (brunch is $42 and drink pairings was $28 i believe). we chose to split one order of drinks as i was driving and didn't want to have to take a taxi home. it turned out that the drinks were small portions but for the most part i only had a sip or two of each. absolutely delicious for the most part. a few were a bit strong for me but they were really interesting combos and i would like to try a few full size cocktails at the bar one day. so we decided that we would make sure we ordered everything on the menu and split it. for example, there were a few times when there were a choice between two items for one course so we got both so we could try everything. the staff was amazing - very friendly and tolerated our questions with charm. i've posted pictures and i think in this case pictures really are better than words. everything is stunning to look at and even better to taste. unfortunately i did not like the dessert at all so we stopped by the gorgeous little food and gift shop in the hotel lobby and we got some boo buns for later. later ended up being sooner. i got one with pumpkin cheese cake filling with a fondant on it to make it into a ghost. it was one of the best buns i've ever had and probably the sweetest as well. I used to come here for high tea all the time and haven't been for a good 3 years. Their menu is exactly the same still. My favourite is the scone here. If anyone can recommend a better place, do tell!!! I do like how they have several pieces of sushi along with some sandwiches. It makes the experience a bit more east meets west. Also, I can only handle so much sandwiches in one seating. The assortment of dessert is diverse in texture, flavour and style. I quite enjoy it and especially love the Matcha mousse cake. For tea, I selected the Flowery Earl Grey. It was delightful and the floral fragrance was impactful without being overpowering. Highly recommend this tea if you are an Earl Grey fan. read more
