Had a really weird experience there that was unsettling. Ate there earlier in the day and had a good time. Checked in with my ID and vaccination status. Decent meal. Tipped well. Returned later, and had some bozo bus boy decline service due to "improper vaccination card." Mind you, the thing is issued by nurses and validated by the CDC, and I showed having a third dose. He tried arguing with me, I told him I didn't want to argue and just wanted food. It seemed like he wanted a fight or something -- really power trippy and rude. I think he assumed I might be drunk because of how late I stepped in, but I was completely sober, so I told him I would go visit elsewhere. Probably the first time I've felt discriminated against with the whole pandemic vaccination stuff. Horrible staff. Be careful who you hire. Will not visit there again. read more

We have gone here a number of times after work. The place is always inviting, clean and the staff are friendly and certainly attentive to your needs. We have tried the poutine with pork, the loaded tater tots (yes there is a theme in my reviews as I love the darn things), nachos with chicken, wings, and of course their beverage selections. The staff here are great. Very friendly and attentive. I like going here for the weekend breakfast. Good food and good sized portions for the price. This place has the Best burgers around. I used to live in the neighborhood before moving to Auburn and we have tried burgers at other places recommended by neighbors and None have come close to the Local. I now either come with my softball team after practices or make the drive for date nights just for their food. I also recommend Chicken fried steak and eggs with tots, breakfast tacos, and garlic wings. I have read other reviews commenting on slow service, but now a days with the service industry being short staff, that is to be expected. Place was pretty busy when we arrived, only one table was available. There was just the two of us, so we grabbed it quick and got some water while looking through the menu. Not too noisy and seemed like everything was on point at the beginning. Ordered sweet potato fries and the server recommended the shredded beef nachos to go with it. Our server was tending the other side, so I asked a different server about our order after 15 minutes and were told she would "go check that now". She came back with plates and napkins but no estimate on the wait. Another 10 minutes and we asked our server who was in the area cleaning a table behind us. She seemed annoyed that we asked her about the order and shortly replied, "It's because we're so busy, I'll go check on it now." Admittedly, there were lots of people there when we arrived, but most of them had their food/drinks already. There were more people who finished and left the restaurant in those 25 minutes than those who came in. After the attitude, we decided it was best to leave than wait another 10 minutes or more. Disappointing experience because we had heard great things about service here and their food was supposed to be really good. Best burger in WA I've had so far. Good price, good size, execution is everything you want in an ideal burger. Only burger I've had that tops it was the famous Au Cheval burger in Chicago. I've had probably hundreds of different burgers across the US, and even Japan, S Korea, China, and Thailand. As it is my favorite food, it's also my most picky choice of food. Appetizers were also great. This is food you'd never expect from a bar, pub, diner, or cafe. It's something you'd expect in a more established, higher quality restaurant. Let me start by saying that we've been frequent (happy) visitors for years at this establishment... which is why we were completely taken aback by our experience on 12/19 at approximately 6:15pm. My friend and I wanted to pop in for a quick shot while in the area when her ID was suspected of being fake... which it was not. Just for context, she is 27 with an enhanced ID that felt thinner than my "regular one". The bartender with braids was extremely hostile, condescending, unnecessarily confrontational, and treating us like we were guilty before proven innocent. The quick switch in her attitude was jarring... we felt helpless. She was not letting us speak and got in our faces telling us about her 12 years of experience as a bartender, while cutting us off at all attempts to remedy and explain... all while her blonde colleague was handing my friend's ID to Multiple different customers asking them if it is real. She got people to believe that the photo did not resemble my friend... rounding up customers visiting the bar that night to agree... it was a humiliating. At this point, I noticed that things were quickly escalating beyond our control, so I called my boyfriend, who is a bartender himself to come help us out. He witnessed my friend's ID being passed around, asked if they were refusing service to us, and to give us back our ID so that we may leave. They said no, so he requested that they call the cops. Authorities came, ran her ID, apologized to us, but ultimately escorted us out. Not surprised. Then!! The hostile bartender with braids requested to speak with us outside, (thankfully) with cops to facilitate. She attempted an apology to us, but also revealed that my boyfriend was never welcome back due to his "behavior"... because he asked them to call the cops... we tried to explain ourselves, but she got upset and started to snap back. You're in the wrong... severely... you cannot gaslight us and blame us for seeking professional help. We explained that we needed to call my boyfriend for backup due to how she made us feel which led to her frustration is increasing, causing her to be more snappy. Luckily, the cops recognized this behavior, told her that she's the one escalating things, and told her to stop. Cherry on top. This led her to abruptly turn her back and leave. I am grateful for my boyfriend who quickly and calmly came to our rescue and also the officers who continuously apologized to us and stood up for us. I understand why the bartenders had to do what they did, but there is always a better way to handle things. It's unfair that my boyfriend was wrongfully banned for helping us, for stating facts, and requesting authority to take over. His interaction with the bartenders was both short and calm. It's not okay that a bartender's bruised ego could be grounds for banning someone for requesting for them to call the cops. My friend experienced humiliation and an invasion of privacy, all of which could've been avoided with more professional behavior. What could we have done to remedy this escalating situation without requesting the cops show up? And the fact that we asked them to make the call classified us as "intimidating"... I would like to caution anyone from visiting this establishment due to their unprofessionalism with how they handled this event, especially with calm and cooperating individuals. The bartenders that night humiliated us, themselves, but also the business as a whole as they got other customers involved. I would feel so embarrassed as the owner of this establishment and I believe we were owed a public apology in front of all of the customers who got involved. However, that's not happening so all I can do as advise you all to not trust this bar as a place to spend your time. read more

This is a fun pub in Renton with an excellent selection of beers. It is a little rundown, but the food makes this place worth a visit. I had some chicken wings as an appetizer. They were cooked just right--and the chicken was very good. I had an ale with this that was really good--good recommendation from the server. For the main course I had the Italian beef. This was a big appeal to me because I am from Chicago and absolutely love this--and not many places have it. The Italian beef was very good and I also loved the roll--it brought back good memories. I have heard a lot about this place and wanted to check it out. The first time we went by and could not find it. The GPS took us to the wrong side of the street and walked through the alley. We quit. So the next day, I invited my brother to go for some drinks and we found the place. They have decent food option and the taste is not too bad. They lots of beer options and listed them on the blackboard. We literally drank down the just fir fun. The next day I was back there with a business colleague just hanging out. They have pool tables that are inexpensive for the games. A week later we were bar hopping with my wife and her co-workers and we ended up here again. The few time we have been here, we had good customer service. My business colleague already planned another visit later this week with one of his old colleagues and I will be joining them. I went here with friends for a bday party. This is kind of a dive bar, but really popular with the locals. Also, there's not a whole lot open in Renton after hours, so this seems to be the place of choice. I was told that their food was good so I was excited to to try it. I ordered the nachos and the wings. The nachos were actually okay. They didn't come with any guacamole, but they had other delicious toppings, accompanied by sour cream and salsa.
