THE LOCAL COBB salad. Churros with chocolate sauce.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful Cobb salad that truly exceeded my expectations. The freshness of the ingredients was immediately apparent; each bite was bursting with vibrant flavors. The crispness of the mixed greens, combined with the sweetness of cherry tomatoes and the crunch of cucumbers, and avocados created a refreshing base. I order "The Local Cobb with chicken." The presentation was also noteworthy, with a beautiful arrangement that made the salad not just a meal, but a feast for the eyes. This salad is a testament to how simple ingredients can come together to create something truly special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a healthy and delicious option! Please order from this place. Their attention to detail is immaculate. I ordered through UberEats, it was my first time ordering from this establishment and definitely will NOT be my last. Salad is huuuuge and can feed two.

A deli type arrangement and restaurant. There's a food counter on one side and seating area everywhere else. If you eat in, a server will come to your table and take your order and service you. Our server was very nice and friendly. We ordered two lunch specials. We both had a quesadilla and a side. My friend had the chicken quesadilla and salad and I had the mushroom quesadilla and a chicken and corn soup. The quesadillas are placed in a pita like pocket and are filled with nice amount of ingredients. The mushroom version had beans in it. The soup was thick and felt more like a stew than a soup.

Ordered the Lamb burger medium well and it was perfectly cooked . The bun was toasted to perfection and had such a nice light crunch. Appetizers were all amazing; Cajun fries Tokyo fries Shrimp Tempura Guac n chips Mozzarella sticks Everything was made fresh and came out hot ! Service was so great that they even let us know the Lamb burgers were being delivered as we arrived because they knew that's what we really wanted . So of course we waited and were not disappointed ! Our server Edwin and the rest of the team is warm and friendly . The vibe is great and the place is clean .

We were in Queens for the day and famished after a lot of running around. When we were on our way home, we decided to look for a spot that we could grab some take out to bring with us. We happened upon TLP and the menu looked promising. We tried to order from their website but it was down so we ordered in person. When I inquired about the website, the guy at the front said that it was down all morning but right as I was ordering in person, they got it back up. I was a little bummed because having to order in person meant we had to wait for our food AND we missed out on the 10% incentive to order off their website. Luckily, I always look at the positive: the opportunity to order some soju lemonade while we waited. The decor is cool. They have an eclectic assortment of Funko POPs. I recognized Game Of Thrones and Star Wars bobble heads. It was pretty empty but they have plenty of seating, both indoor and out. The outdoor seating is covered and they have a cute green wall backdrop for brunch pics. They have one bathroom which is pretty spacious and very clean. We did have to wait long. They packed up everything we ordered very neatly and it was all still warm once we got back home to the Bx. Everyone was happy with their order but I did have one issue with something I got, as I will explain below... GRUB RUNDOWN Shrimp Tempura - these were amazeballs! They're huge and they survived the trip. Tempura-fried Jumbo shrimp with spicy may, tempura sauce (tasted like hoisin) and scallions. I wish I had two orders because they were that good. Soup Bowl - they had New England clam and Chicken & Corn. I opted for the Chicken and Corn. It was ok, thick and not watery at all, but lacked a bit in flavor. Beer Battered Fish & Chips - these were less than ok in my opinion. I got onion rings instead which were very good but the fish was bland. They are small strips of fish so they were somewhat dry as well. I was also missing the tartar sauce they were supposed to come with so I was bummed about that also. I ended up just making some tartar sauce for it myself since I had all of the ingredients to make some. These were truly disappointing, considering I was thinking about getting their lamb burger instead. The Local Press Burger - hubby got this burger and they were very cognizant about maintaining the integrity of the food. It's a basic burger with cheddar, bacon, lettuce, onion, pickles and tomato. They kept the sauce on the side and the truffle parm fries were really good. The "secret" sauce tastes like any other burger house sauce but it does the job. Roadside Burger - my son opted for this one. It has American cheese, caramelized onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles and their secret sauce. He also added a fried egg and liked it. Loaded Fries - my son got these fries with his burger. They were definitely loaded with cheese, bacon, scallions and sauce. He liked them as well. Chicken Tenders - we got these for our toddler. The chicken pieces were pretty big a really crispy. I think they were a littlt too crispy for her but she ate some of it and I tasted them also. They were good. We got her BBQ sauce and fries to go with them and she liked it. Again though, we were missing the coleslaw that was supposed to come with the meal.

Ordered 2 turkey burgers and two beef burgers. One medium rare and one well done. Order was for pick up. Got home, started to eat the mid-rare burger and I noticed it was bright pink and the temperature was off. I broke it in half and it was raw and cold. I called the restaurant and he said to bring it back. Got to the restaurant then had the audacity to tell me "medium rare is supposed to be RAW." What? You could literally smell the ground beef wasn't cooked. Got a call while talking to the guy and someone's turkey burger was burnt! Showed him a picture and he said that's how it's supposed to be cooked. What?! It was burnt and the person said it tasted like a dirty grill. They said I'd have to pay to remake the burgers. Ridiculous. The audacity- he said I ate half the burger and wanted to get a free meal. I took a bite and then spilt it down the middle and then split the raw patty to show them. Rude service and horrible food.

Looking for a new place to eat we stumbled across The Local Press. I placed an order for the next day via Uber Eats. We were sold on their sandwiches and decided to order a Turkey Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, Fried Chicken Sandwich with Onion Rings, and Mozzarella Sticks. First off let me say everything looked and smelled delicious. I also didn't know you could select the temp for a Turkey burger. My hunny asked for it medium well. My portion of onion rings was awfully sad. I had about four onion rings in various sizes. My chicken sandwich was on the spicier side. I was aware of the spicy Mayo but the brine used for the chicken was spicy as well. I wish there was disclaimer for this. I also asked for my coleslaw to be on the side, but they decided not to include it with my order. The mozzarella sticks were burnt. Oddly enough I received more sticks than I did onion rings. I wouldn't order them again. My hunny really enjoyed his Turkey burger. I concur it was tasty and his sweet potato fries weren't bad either.

Best turkey I have had in awhile. I decided to order from here after looking through a few places and Local Press' food caught my eye. It's been a while since I was last year and just leaving another review. Came on a Saturday night, wasn't too crowded. Had the Hot Honey Chicken Wings and Waffles and an order of the Tokyo fries. The chicken was delicious but all I tasted was the honey. Wasn't spicy at all. The waffles were also really good, don't know what's in the batter but it had a savory AND sweet taste to it before I even used the syrup or butter. Tokyo fries were freakin' awesome! Crispy fries, all the sauces made it come together so spicy and savory. Only cons were our server was not too attentive and always had his back turned when behind the counter. Hard to get his attention at times and then to get the check, took forever. It's not the first time we had him as a server. Also the bathrooms, disgusting. Probably haven't washed that floor since Covid or so it felt as my sneakers stuck to the floor.

The Local Press is a gem in Ozone Park. I have only ordered takeout here but it did not disappoint. I ordered The South Western Salad with jumbo grilled shrimp. The portion was more than enough and the cilantro lime vinaigrette was very tasty. I would definitely order from The Local Press again and hopefully try some of their burgers.

All I can say is WOW! The Local Press is such a wonderful restaurant. I have been here a few times to try a variety of items on the menu and they never disappoint. Every bite is literally a party in my mouth. From the Asian tacos to the Local Press burger, everything on the menu is delicious (the sangria is also heavenly!). The ambience is very chill and the owners are truly great people providing the best customer service I have ever seen. They also play jams all day! Whether you're in the mood for a light snack or a full meal, you need to stop by and try anything from this place. I cannot stress enough how amazing it is! The local press is a great spot that offers a variety of different foods to choose from. I can tell the food is definitely prepared fresh since we were able to see chef Andrew and the others taking their time to make sure everything was presented perfectly. The food is a unique taste that only reminds me of a great home cooked meal. The portion for the price is excellent. I have been here quite a few times and I will continue to keep on going for as long as the friendly staff continue to provide great lunch and dinner meals. P.s I suggest trying either the buttermilk fried chicken with the biscuit or the Asian salad with grilled chicken ! read more

I'm not a writer of reviews, but to have this quality food near me makes me happy and motivated to tell all. Ozone Park, Woodhaven, Richmond Hill and Howard Beach we finally have a restaurant that cares about the food they serve. I sat at the table and watched them make the beer batter for my fish and chips fresh. The tomato garden soup was to die for; fresh vegetables with a slight crunch. Can you imagine that. A couple of days later I ordered the Cheese burger and what a surprise, it was charbroiled and thick enough to order it cooked your way. Mine came medium. Go online and check out their menu. Just ordered on DoorDash... FOOD IS AMAZING! Got the shrimp tempura phenomenal. Chicken sandwich is definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Cajun onion rings were bomb. There aren't many places like this in the neighborhood so it's a cute little addiction. I got the shrimp tacos, Mac and cheese and sangria. The sangria is amazing! The shrimp tacos were good but there weren't enough shrimp (mostly the topping they put on them). The Mac and cheese was a little dry. My one major complaint is the wait time. We were sitting there for about 15-20 mins before a server came to take our orders. read more

Don't understand why this place is called a restaurant. The only thing worth eating here is their burgers. Everything else on their menu is overpriced, poorly portioned and doesn't even taste good. I'm a regular in their and they never treat me as such the "toxic chefs" give me blank stares even though they would see me every week. I even started to smile more and they would give me stand offish looks. To be very honest even with the price gauging, small portions and non friendly environment I would've given them 5 stars and good review IF THE PLACE WAS EVER OPEN. They close abruptly, don't ever open shop and constantly change their hours. It's very frustrating when the best BURGER spot doesn't even take their own business seriously it's almost insulting to introduce an amazing burger then provide the worst service. Lost me as a customer for good. Hope this place closes down or goes under REAL management. read more

First time coming to this place yesterday... first let me say I will never come back to this place ever again... I was waiting for 45 mins until my burger and fries arrived on my table.. this is like the longest I ever waited for a burger in my life..they have 2 cooks standing there .. I don't know what is taking them so long to cook these burgers.. and finally the way the burger tasted .. was ok.. nothing special at all.... if u can wait an hour before your burger comes .. then this is the place for you .. and it wasn't even busy .. The food is very good but a couple of things need improvement 1. The wait is kind of long even for the appetizer 2. I requested grill cheese it's not on menu so guy comes back they said no They can't do that I have a big issue with that because if they can make regular sandwiches and put cheese why can't they just give me a sandwich with only cheese I don't think it's fair they didn't even offer me a price just to no and they need to offer shakes read more

I have been living in the neighborhood for almost three years and my boyfriend and I are always looking for a place near by to eat but has quality food. I am soo glad we found The Local Press. On Saturday after trying IHop and being told there was a 40+ wait we came here. From when we walked in we were greeted with smiles from a super sweet statf and the music was perfect (at least for me I love spanish music there was some Ozuna deff music to get you in a good mood). The layout was super simple and clean. The menu has enough options that you can please different crowds. We ate the tempura style shrimp which was bomb, so tasty with spicy mayo. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffle, which of course I tried. The waffle was super sweet and fluffy and the chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection. I had a pulled pork quesadilla and loaded fries with avacado. The pulled pork had good flavor, I would like to see them work with the flavor more though. The loaded fries were amazing I ate them all. The quesadilla was much bigger than I thought it would be I barely finished half. I really loved the vibe of this place and they have a brunch on Sundays with $20 unlimited mimosas for an hour. I cannot wait to come back and try something else from the menu. Such a chill place with good food, you cannot go wrong! read more

Wow I live in Howard Beach, and I never even knew this place existed! My friend asked to get lunch, and we wanted to go somewhere new. She recommended this place and I absolutely loved It! The food was so delicious and the prices were extremely reasonable. The place is not too big but also not too small. They also seemed to be really busy with takeout orders! A GREAT RESTAURANT in the ozone park area. Their tacos, burgers, steaks and their variety of different foods never disappoints me. Finally a restaurant like this came around my neighborhood, I got tired of chinese food, pizza, and spanish food. This restaurant has dine in and take out options. They have a parking lot in the back. It's clean and the decor is bright and it feels like I was in Greece. I got a chicken gyro side order which came with pita and tzatziki. The chicken gyro was well spiced and tender. It was plenty of food for me. My partner got a beef and lamb gyro pita. And we shared a spicy fries (fries with spicy feta). All of the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We will be back to try more of the menu.
