Open till 9 on Thursday. I could place online and it's available but I'm driving so I call at 8:15pm to place a pickup order. No answer. So I go to do online and says can't place at this time. So I call 2 mins later sounds like they answer and slam phone shut and hang up....Odd. So I call again and ask to place a pick order and what sounds like a high school aged girl says we're not taking orders at this time. I said oh can I ask why I mean you are open right. And she said it's been a slow day so we decided to close the kitchen. That's odd it wasn't a slow day when you didn't answer the phone and then slammed it closed because I presume it annoyed the high school girl. Seamed like a nice local, healthy place to try for first time. But not gonna deal with little high school attitude. read more

I have been to this establishment a few times over the last two years. While the food is usually very good, the service and attitude of the employees has been less than stellar. The last time we went was a prime example. For one thing, when you ask a patron whether their gluten-free option is an allergy or a preference, it can come off very rude the way it is ask. If someone wants something gluten-free, then it should just be made gluten-free. No questions asked as that is rather intrusive. The second thing is we were eating lunch and there were about eight other people in there. It was 2:05. We didn't realize what time it was. They could've simply said. "Hey we're closing in the dining room" and we would have left. Instead they started putting up chairs and mopping the floor. There was an elderly couple in there, and I am on crutches due to A knee surgery. We all had to leave over wet floors and they seemed to care less. Even locking the front door and asking us to walk down the wet hallway with no rugs to leave. It was merely 2:10pm. They were downright rude and could've cared less for the patrons safety. read more

Was in Powel and decided to stop in for brunch. Right off the bat their scones are so good, They are seasonal and on this day it was cheddar and bacon so good. I started off with the Breakfast burrito this burrito is loaded. Starts off with a huge piece of egg soufflé, tomato and corn salsa, fresh avocado, crispy red skin potatoes, black bean, cheddar cheese on a flour tortilla. Yes, all that on one burrito, it was outstanding. I also ordered a side of the crispy roasted potatoes, these are seasoned perfectly and a great addition to the brunch. My only issue is it's a pricey brunch but the food is fresh, and very tasty. read more

Cute café vibe with a little retail area when you walk in. Parking can be tricky, limited parking spots, so just be prepared if it's busy. You grab your own table and order at the counter. Food is brought to you. The lunch menu was decent, though the breakfast menu looked even better, and I expected a few more coffee options. I had the smoked turkey club, super fresh and really good! Had a great lunch outside in the patio at the Locust Table. The menu is small yet packs a lot of variety, all fairly, healthy fresh options for salads, quinoa bowls, sandwiches, breakfast options, and treats. You order inside at the counter and the food is brought to your table. I ordered the Thai peanut quinoa bowl with chicken, a half heirloom tomato salad, and a chocolate chip cookie, all of which were very tasty. The portions are not huge, but they are filling and well-made. I look forward to returning. read more

As a vegan, I was wildly disappointed in my breakfast burrito. The locust table came up as vegan friendly, and while *technically* vegan friendly, the vegan option is just the breakfast burrito without the egg and cheese lol. (Fries and ketchup are technically vegan) So you're paying full price for a burrito that is mainly beans. The salsa on the side was fresh and well salted. I just genuinely feel that there is a lack of effort when claiming to offer vegan options. I'm sure the dinner is nice and breakfast for omnivores, but plant based baddies shouldn't waste their time despite the vegan tag filtering to this restaurant! read more

Recently had brunch here with friends and it was delicious! I got the avocado toast with an egg on the side and my son had a grilled cheese. My friend had the lemon French toast and another one of my friends has the egg sandwich. It's not a typical sit down restaurant and you order up front and they bring out your food, but the food came out quick and the staff same to check on us regularly. Lots of great lighting and they were even playing the Palms which is always going to help with the vibe. read more

Yesterday was my second visit. The first time was for brunch and I thought it was really pricey for the amount of food and the fact that it's counter service. For example, my kids got the waffle and it was so little food that I had to order them something else afterwards. I gave it another try yesterday and had another negative experience. One of their main menu items for lunch is the quinoa bowls, but they were completely out of quinoa. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and I was surprised when it showed up at the table. It was fairly small with no side for $15. It was a good sandwich, but pricey for counter service with no side. There's lots of other good restaurants in the area that I would choose instead of this place. read more

It's been a few years now, and I still occasionally pop in. Alas, my most recent visit was a big "miss." They're still clean, the service is good. But I checked the health scores (they hover around 70-80/100!? That's a little worrying). And add to that - they switched from roasted turkey to "sliced turkey", removed the side salad, and increased the price of the smoked turkey sandwich, and it's lost flavor. For $17, that sandwich, by itself, is not worth it. I'm going to have to keep an eye on posts to see if they improve their food quality, but as it stands, I feel I greatly overpaid and their quality is dropping to make it a worthwhile stop. read more

Was at a coffee house down the road that didn't have scones. (Imo all coffee houses should have scones! Did a quick yelp search and found this great little brunch spot called the Locust Table. This brunch spot also does carry out coffees and bakery items as well as full service brunch. They carry blueberry, peaches n cream and a savory ham and cheese scones. I chose this peach scone and was super surprised when I found it also was made from whole wheat and had pecans in it-- Both bonuses for me! Will return for a proper meal in a month or two as everything that servers brought out and passed by me as I stood there ordering, looked amazing. read more

Love the Egg Sandwich and breakfast foods! Self serve coffee you can refill as much as you want while popping up your laptop if fun. Light and airy atmosphere with lots of window light and plants. This was a lovely surprise! My friend suggested it and I was happy to go along. I opted for their quiche which had sausage and kale along with a small salad on the side. I also ordered the pumpkin scone and then the ooey oatmeal cookie for later. I ended up taking most of the scone to go too. The quiche was just wonderful. Perfectly cooked with a flaky crust and the flavors made it special. The scone was huge and paired well with their coffee. I tried the cookie on my way back to Indy but had to save it for later because I didn't realize it was covered in powder sugar and that doesn't go well with driving. If you like Fox in the Snow's egg sandwich, you'll most definitely want to give Locust Table's egg sandwich! I stopped by after an appointment at Skin & Sugar to pick up an online order. I could never tell just from looking outside if this was a traditional dine-in spot or if I could order at a counter, turns out it's the latter . The interior and homey and welcoming. The woman who got me my order was really nice and their retail selections were very tempting. I ordered an egg sandwich (sans arugula). The herb focaccia was fantastic, the eggs and bacon perfectly made, and I really liked the sauce it came with. I also got a blueberry lavender scone that was moist with still-juicy blueberries baked inside. It was that good after sitting out on my counter overnight, so I can only imagine how good they are fresh. I'll most definitely be ordering here again soon! read more

If you are in Powell looking for breakfast and bypass Anne's Southern Kitchen (my fave) to come here, then definitely skip the avocado toast (a big miss), and sorry to say the breakfast burrito is only marginally better. Waffle looks better as does 2 egg breakfast with sides. I truly want this place to succeed and thrive in Powell. We need a place like this. We were in Columbus on my bd, started looking for a place to eat lunch that was different. Didn't know what we wanted, and yelp was not really helping, lol. Decided to try this place. The ladies were very helpful with the menu. It's very open, and bright and clean. Our food came out quickly . We both got turkey clubs, it was real turkey breast, thick bacon, fresh veggies and bread. I brought half home, which evened out the cost. It was very good, and we'd eat there again. read more

Casual breakfast and lunch restaurant. I came to meet a friend for lunch. She ordered the chipotle bowl and I ordered the veggie burger and fizzy bloody Mary. The veggie burger tasted very fresh and homemade. I did not need any condiments. Note this is the type of restaurant where you order first and they bring you the food and you pay at the table. Nothing wrong with that style I just like to know that ahead of time as I was using the restaurant as a meeting place. The menu is small with multiple healthy options. I only came for lunch and never saw what the breakfast menu was. It would've been fun to be to order breakfast too. The inside decor is trendy minimalist design. This is a perfect location for a breakfast, brunch, date, fast weekday breakfast, study area or spot on the weekends. It smelled so good inside & the staff was so nice. The options were very diverse, but definitely pricey. You get what you pay for, but all local, fresh ingredients. I got the bacon and roasted potatoes, a quick snack after the farmer's market around the corner. I sat outside & the bees were horrible, so I for sure recommend sitting inside, no matter how nice it looks. The food came out reasonably quickly. I will be back here on a date or with my friends. We have been here a few times and the results are very consistent and very good. I've had the chicken sandwich (great), huevos rancheros (great), breakfast burrito (good), and my wife loves the granola (great). I had the chicken noodle soup today and it was good but not amazing (I'm a soup lover/snob). My wife says she wishes they had a bit more variety of food and more importantly drink options like lattes given it's a brunch/lunch place. She also wishes they displayed the calories on their menu. The other issue is the prices are quite high. The chicken sandwich, which isn't big, is $16 and it comes with no side so I spent $6 for a cup of soup. This is a casual place so that seems high. But the food is great and convenient to us which is why we go back. read more

The Locust Table has a friendly, chill vibe while they bring luxury service and experience to everything they do. Our most recent visit today featured a group of 10 and they delivered incredible dishes. The breakfast burrito is one of the best you can buy in Columbus; loaded with black beans, organic eggs, sausage and of course fresh salsa. The Belgian waffles are homemade, made to order with complimentary Ohio real maple syrup. Perfect amount of cinnamon, fruit and cream on top of the waffles. Cool having the trains zoom by and the kids enjoyed their fantastic Star Wars and sponge bob crayon kits that were offered up right away. Also the coffee is a must mention here, great starter along with a strawberry banana smoothie. Seriously amazing. In the loaded Powell restaurant scene this is a MUST VISIT. Having the vaccine means I can get back to visiting different coffee shops in the Columbus area. This is my second time visiting The Locust Table. Unlike the first time, I decided to sit here with my school work and enjoy the atmosphere. And lovely it was! This time I ordered a cup of coffee and the gooey butter oatmeal cookie. I wanted the lavender earl grey scone, but unfortunately they were out. I ordered at the front and the cashier asked whether I wanted to sit inside or outside (inside) and told me my table. I was given a coffee cup to fill up my coffee, as well as some half and half. The waitress brought my cookie to the table about a minute later. I do recommend this place if you want to work on your laptop, and they seem to encourage it here, given the number of outlets in the dining area.
