We had a fabulous lunch here today. This was our first time here. The wings with the Orion sauce is absolutely scrumptious and I could literally drink the sauce. The wings are in my top three favorites ever. The KH5 burger also was literally incredible. It has this tasty jam on there, and the beef was fantastic. The food here was delicious. The Buffalo Mac and Cheese was creamy and hot. Yet the chicken that was mixed in still had a crunchy coating on it. Walked right in the front door and found seats at the bar. The bartender was attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu. A good selection of beers on tap. Kraft House No 5 is a cozy, easygoing neighborhood restaurant. We easily got reservations for a Friday night same-day and were seated promptly upon arrival. We came during happy hour and the deals were great, my husband was so pleased with his $6 old fashioned and my draft beer was half off! The chicken sandwich was awesome and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. My husband was incredibly impressed with the burger as well; it was perfectly cooked and the bun was so soft. He originally wanted asparagus as his side but they ran out, so he subbed Brussels sprouts and honestly they were awesome. Will definitely be back again to this spot!! read more

Regular stop on our rotation, we stopped in for happy hour and dinner. Found two seats without reservations - BUT still highly recommend reservations. Started with Fried Pickles and Wam Burrata. Full Bar and great drafts make picking a supporting beverage easy at Kraft House - note that Bartenders are super friendly and so supportive/attentive while the vibe is chill and casual. No one is rushed here, take your time and enjoy your drinks and food. We ordered house Cab and a Manhattan, both were perfect for our two Salmon Fillets. It had been a long time since I had visited this spot, and I'm glad I decided to go back! The staff was all super friendly. My girlfriends and I were catching up and they did not rush us at all. We started with the nachos which were really tasty and a little different than your normal nachos with a flavored sour cream, and we all really enjoyed them. For dinner I got the classic girl dinner or a with Caesar salad with chicken and a side of fries. The fries had a nice garlic and rosemary flavor and were perfectly crispy. The salad was good, the croutons made it great! I don't know if they make them in house, but they are light and fluffy and perfectly crunchy. My first time there last week. I was very pleased with the menu choices and my entire party of five enjoyed their dinner. My Cobb salad was not only generous in size but very good in taste and presentation. It included strips of grilled chicken breast, avocado and egg as well as bacon. We will be back. The service was incredible... We were looking for a different place to eat so we decided to go to Powell. Kraft House 5 seemed interesting and had no wait. The decor is really cool and the environment is laid back so we felt right at home. The waitress was fantastic - we got incredible service - our brunch started out with the big pretzel and beer cheese which was really good ( it came with a steak knife - I never thought about cutting a pretzel up - what a great idea) Wifie had their KH5 hamburger which was really good she really enjoyed it with the potatoe hash as a side. I had the Benny which is their take on eggs Benedict. They use beer cheese instead of the traditional hollandaise sauce, the eggs were sunny side instead of poached, and they use ham instead of Canadain bacon but that made it unique and quite tasty. My mom and I decided to check out the Kraft House as it has been maybe 10 years since we were here. I loved the inside decor, very eclectic and I love the boat on the ceiling. Our server was very nice and friendly. My mom and I ordered a glass of wine and decided to just have appetizers for dinner. We went for the roasted cauliflower, was very bland. Next, we had the buffalo shrimp, which seemed to be just shrimp with buffalo sauce on them. Not sure what i had expected, but something better. Lastly, we had the wings. They were ok, not the best but better than everything else. The ranch sauce they served was weird, not your normal ranch sauce and they charge for it. 50 cents. All in all, was a ok experience, but with so many other great restaurants in Powell, I will skip this place. read more

We were downtown enjoying Franklinton Fridays, and decided to stop here to grab drinks and some food and get out of the heat for a bit. We sat on the roof and had a fun view of all the action happening on the street down below. Service was chaotic, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Forgivable seeing as it was a pretty hectic night with larger than normal crowds. The saving grace was the pretzel - this was one of the biggest soft pretzels I've ever had, and the honey mustard - if I could have ordered an entire jar to take home I would have. And I love honey mustard, I've had a lot of it, I'm picky. We did order dessert and after about 45 minutes realized it probably wasn't coming, cancelled the order and left. Things were still chaotic when we left, but I'd probably come back for that pretzel, just not on a weekend. read more

I had dinner at Kraft House No. 5 on a rainy evening, I was trying to find a patio but with the rain I was happily surprised to find Kraft House No. 5. They have an extensive list of beers on tap, as well as many wines to choose from, and a fully stocked bar. I had 2 beers and the burrata starter, and the burrata came with sourdough toast, micro greens and balsamic, and a few other good toppings. It was great and very fresh tasting. I got the fried chicken entree and it came with collard greens and mac n cheese. The food was so good, seasoned well, and cooked well. The portions were big and I had enough to bring home plenty of leftovers. It all came out hot, and the bartender/ waiters/ waitresses were super attentive. They have the big glass bottles of water placed on tables so I had plenty of water throughout and didn't worry about refills. Kraft House No. 5 is cute and cozy, and the food and beer selection is great. The only downside I saw was the tiny parking lot. It's only four or five spots, but there is a large public lot not too far away from the restaurant! If you're ever up in Powell, definitely give it a try! read more

Kraft House Number 5 is one of the popular bars and restaurants in Powell. It's right in the middle of the downtown. This place gets pretty busy most times. It has a pretty good happy hour. There's deals on drafts and food. I had the Blake's Cider. It's about $6 for a pint. This has a very sweet taste. It goes good with a salad or something that's light. There's some healthier items here, including a few that are good for vegetarians. I had the Kale Spinach Salad. It's about $7 for a good amount. The squash was very sweet, tasting more like this was apples instead. The draft list is good. Food is better than at many bars. The prices are just kind of really high for this. read more

I was pumped to visit this location after walking past it for the last couple of years! The inside is eclectic and the bar looked really nice. Our server was the best part of our meal as she was super friendly and had some great insight into the food we were about to order. We started off with a couple of the craft drinks that were presented on the menu. The Mint Julip was very odd as there was just bourbon and a giant mint cube in the center of the drink, even after the cube melted, there was no mint to be found. We started with the Burrata and it was amazing, the flavor profiles all fit nicely and the fresh sprouts on top were fantastic. The second round of drinks were equally disappointing, the quantity of the tart cherry added to the drinks made them almost undrinkable. I ended up ordering the fried chicken on the menu and it came with mac and cheese and bitter greens. The greens were cooked perfectly and there was a ton of bacon, the mac and cheese had spiral pasta and just the right amount of cheese, the fried chicken was flavored well, not too much salt or seasoning, but the chicken was bone dry. Overall the experience was fun, but the drinks and food was lacking in my opinion. I may come back for another chance, but I'm not sure at this point. read more

We stopped in today for Sunday brunch and had the whole place to ourselves! We opted to sit on the patio, which is a good size and provides a little bit of people watching. Our waitress was super attentive and our food came out very quickly! Everything on their brunch menu looks delicious and their beignet flavor and omelette specialties change by the day. I opted for the chicken and waffles and the lavender honey that topped the dish was fantastic. I'm not a spicy person, so it can be hard to find chicken and waffles in the area that don't come with hot sauce, but this was perfect. My fiancé greatly enjoyed his meal as well! read more

Sunday brunch is what brought us to Powell. It's a long ways away for us, but meeting Family trumps the distance. At 1, the place was barely half full. It's a large place and felt empty. Menu has some variety, so you should not have any problems finding choices. The execution is middling. Most of the food was on the partially cold side, but we opted to not mention that. The kitchen staff should have caught this. The beignets du jour are particularly tasty. Our server worked hard and knew the menu, my guess she was more geared to dinner and not AM shift. Bar looks great, but that's for another time. With all the competition in the area, these guys need to up their food game. read more

Okay, so I've made it back. Multiple times. To the bar, to have a couple drinks and a bite, with friends and family for various events. I got the chicken sandwich, which was a touch spicy - not as spicy as I like, but I think I've reached the point where "normal people spicy" doesn't phase me. The fries? Still awesome. The poutine? Not too shabby - not the best I have had, but we three polished the plate. The service? Both bar and table service was great. All in all, the food has improved, the menu is still tight, and the service is still good. When you want something different (it's still in the "artisanal" realm, so don't expect to get something basic) - it's worth checking out! read more

My friend and I host a brunch meetup and our last event was at Kraft House No 5. It was a pretty good choice I must say! The food was very good. I had the "Benny" which is what they call their eggs Benedict. I was pretty impressed with it. It had very good flavor and was a very good sized dish. Everyone else I talked to in our group also enjoyed their food. I was a little disappointed they no longer had a giant Bloody Mary bar that I've heard they had in the past. The place itself was small but had a very nice look to it. I could see it being a nice place to be a regular at. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was also food. I'll definitely go back. This place is trying to copy the success 101 Beer Kitchen but misses the main idea of 101BK. You could even call this place Easy Street Cafe 2.0 since the owners are the same, they even have the same Easy Street wifi network still setup inside. Let's start with the bad. The food. It is terribly overpriced and underwhelming not good. First I ordered the lobster rolls which were $13. Presentation was excellent, the food looked great, the portion was shockingly small. It was pretty much a hot dog bun sliced in half topped with some onions and a couple tiny pieces of lobster. Maybe I'm jaded since I've had real lobster rolls in Maine which were $7 and included an ENTIRE LOBSTER on a bun. This had as much meat as a couple of the legs. Worth about $5 in my opinion. Since my first $13 course was sparse I ordered the wings second. These aren't bad. They were $10 and I was told you get three wings for that price but received 4. They're pretty much the same as Rooster's does, wings with the wing tips still on, but they go a step farther and leave the leg attached as well. At Roosters it's about $5 for 5 wings so it's twice the cost here. The skin was nice and crispy and had a great seasoning. I tried all three sauces. The honey was amazing and you could tell it was made with honey. The sweet wasn't bad either. The hot was spicy and flavorful. I had a beer and it was $7. This particular beer should have been no more than $5. The guy sitting next to me at the bar wasn't please with the level of service he got, but the service I received was adequate, but not exceptional. Here's what they seemed to have copied from 101BK. The atmosphere. Open, rustic concept (dark stones, wood, roughness), all the staff wears tshirts and jeans, menu items such as Shrimp and Grits, Mussels, Hanger steaks, "made from scratch", a kids menu that they can color, craft beer selection, etc. But what they missed was the entire point of 101BK...a good cheap place to have excellent food and brews. Most of the meals on BK's menu, not the apps, are $15 or less. The kids meals are all around $5 and include two choices of sides, including healthy sides, here they are $6-7 and have no choices and no desserts, doesn't say if it includes a drink either. This place so wants to be 101BK and steps up to the plate but they obviously strike out when it comes time to swing. I was severely disappointed. The good. They have valet parking which is great since parking in Powell sucks. They have an abundance of staff, so service shouldn't be too bad. The place is very very clean including the bathroom. The tap list is decent as well. I'm not sure if they offer any happy hour specials like other gastropubs offering half off the taps from 3-7 or so. The food has potential but is overprice and lacks flavor. I think the chef is on the right track but needs to tweak the menu a bit and the prices. It was a close call between 2-3 stars for me on this one right now, I could see them easily getting four stars as they find their place in the exploding gastropub boom Columbus is currently experiencing. I will come back and try some other things on the menu and update my review, but I'm afraid after talking to the other patrons that they may strike out as well. After trying out the Crafty Pint which I gave 4 stars I had to lower the rating here to 2 stars. The wings at the Crafty Pint were some of the best I've ever had and the other food I had was exceptionally flavorful and well priced. Not to mention their draft list was 40 beers long. Excellent dinner via take-our. We both order the squid ink pasta with seafood. The portion was HUGE, chock full of large shrimp, scallops, and mussels. The sauce was light not overly lemony -- delicious. Meal was ready on time for pick up. Got it home and it was still hot. Service in the restaurant was very good and everyone was wearing a mask. :) Definitely recommend that you try this place. read more
