Great location with a view out birds on a feeder and the Wasatch mountains behind. Great sunset. Fondue was just a velveta cheese type cheese dip. That was disappointing. Just call it what it is. Poached pear salad was the highlight. Fresh and light. Bison sliders can be good, but they are not here. The bun had way too much heavy bread and the dry bison patty really needed some better way to make it not feel dry and heavy. It is almost like the cooks have never tried these. Pretty awful item. I'd come back but be careful to try to find the good items on the menu. read more

This is the play. Service is kind and efficient. Ambience is elevated diner, but they lower the lights a bit for dinner. Again, about par for a resort spot. They deserve kudos for food. I was iffy about mussels in the mountains even though I've had fish, quail and even oysters at other resorts. However, I saw orders of mussels on at least half the tables so we dove right in. They didn't disappoint, with the mussels or escargot. Also love that it's a whole bowl of escargot and not the skimpy half dozen you get elsewhere. Salads, steak and fish are solid as well. Loved that I could swap fries for salad. Definitely my recommendation if you're dining at Snowbird. read more

Spent 5 days at Snowbird with a group of 6 ppl, and this was our favorite dinner. The lodge bistro has a pretty ambience and romantic vibe. Everything we ordered was delicious. Shared the bone marrow and French onion soup appetizer. Several of us ordered the duck which was on the smaller side, I ordered the half chicken which was perfectly cooked and plentiful, couldn't even finish it all. Someone in our group ordered Dover sole which was described as delicious with the best lemon sauce that paired perfectly. Most of the group had several old fashion cocktails which were very much enjoyed. We all shared the beignets dessert which we all agreed was delicious but we preferred without the chocolate sauce. Our server was absolutely fantastic. If you are coming to snowbird, definitely make a reservation at the Lodge Bistro. read more

Most people go here while staying at snowbird or Alta/surrounding areas. We got the Elk Special which was absolutely delicious. It comes with asparagus, blue cheese, mashed potatoes, and blackberry (I think?) sauce. We got the winter pear salad to share also which had great dressing. A few good things, but mostly bad about this spot in Snowbird. The mussels are fantastic, and paired with a salad is the perfect meal at this spot just across from the Snowbird Center. Now the bad. The gnocchi is awful. It's objectively too sweet with the apricot gastrique, the gnocchi are undercooked and underwhelming, and the base vegetables are under seasoned. 7 gnocchi and a ton of vegetables for $30+...give me a break. Highway robbery, even at resort prices. The service....ooph. We had the same waiter at Wildflower, and he was just as flippant and absent at that location. We ordered a cocktail before placing a food order, and told him we'd get a glass of wine with our main dish. Fast forward to our appetizers being complete, and immediately our mains are delivered before our appetizer dishes had even been cleared. We asked our busser if we could order wine and he said he'd get our waiter. 5 minutes later our waiter finally arrives. I order a Riesling, and he says they are out. A friend ordered another cocktail...they are missing an ingredient. You have 4 white wines on the menu, and variations of standard cocktails, it's a Friday night, and you don't have one of the wines/cocktail ingredients? WTF? I ordered a different wine. 10 minutes later the glasses finally arrive, our mains already half eaten. This whole restaurant is badly mismanaged. The food is good if you avoid the gnocchi, but pray you get a more attentive waiter than we did, and that they happen to actually have ANY of the beverage options you choose. read more

We stayed at the Cliff Lodge and came here one night for drinks and a snack. We ordered the wagyu hamburger which was amazing. Even more amazing was the personable service we received from the bartender and the drinks he made for us. We loved his whiskey sour and old fashioned! Went here for dinner twice and have nothing but good things to say! First off, they have a great happy hour it's 50% off apps from 5-6pm. The first night we went we just got apps and salads and took advantage of the happy hour. Staff was super friendly, too. Second night we got drinks and had a proper meal. Everything was delicious. The meatballs and coconut shrimp were both great. Mushroom and hazelnut pate was just ok but the crackers were really good. Both of our entrees were special and they were both perfect! TLDR: Bread 4/5, Steak tartar 3/5, Hazelnut spread 3/5, Beet salad 5/5, Ceasar salad 4/5, Duck 4/5, Kobe bavette 5/5, Toffee pudding 5/5. Shoutout to Ryver and Mike! River was an excellent host, and Mike was an exceptionally attentive server! We brought our own wine to pair with our dishes, as they offer the option for an uncorking fee. We also ordered black coffee as a palette cleanser. For our meal we started with an amuse bouche, a grits base, with roast beef, and topped with pickled onion, it was a great pallette cleanser, as it was rich in taste but had a flat finish. We requested their bread as our second course, a whole clove garlic sourdough, with a fresh herb butter, brought out with vinegar and oil. It was flavorful yet still acted as a pleasantly pallette starter. Our third course was their mushroom hazelnut spread, and their steak tartar. I used the ailoi from the tartar to bring out more flavor for the hazelnut spread as well as requesting a small amount of salt. Their tartar was an interesting take on traditional tartar, it's secondary components were capers, egg yolk, and pickles. I personally didn't appreciate the secondary components as I felt the acidity pulled the attention away from the raw steak. Our main course was the two-way duck, with cherry confit, and the Kobe bavette. The duck breast didn't pair well with the confit, but the duck leg and confit was exquisite! My favorite dish of the evening was certainly the Kobe bavette! The bavette was cooked to perfection! And the tomato confit brought any and all hidden flavors to the surface! I wasn't honestly displeased with the pickled mushrooms.. Not appealing.. Our dessert was the toffee pudding, it was exquisite! Mind you, I'm not one for sweets.. but the toffee pudding had me reeling! The decadent toffee deglase was matched perfectly with a robust and creamy ice cream. Probably the best restaurant at Snowbird. Timmy, the bartender, is awesome. The food here is great and since the restaurant is a little harder to find, you usually don't have to deal with kids running around. The all-you-can-eat mussels is a great deal. You could eat dinner here every night while staying upstairs and probably wouldn't get sick of it. Er, uh, just kidding. Go to Steak Pit! And the powder sucks, too. read more

The Kobe Babette seemed much more like a regular skirt steak rather than a Kobe. 2 stars. The butter chicken was actually decent. The flavor was decent, a little heavy on the rosemary but it was quite soft and moist. 3 stars. The braised short rib was the best dish. 4 stars. Great flavor soft. Breaks apart nicely. Absolutely LOVELY meal! We started out with bread and butter, which was wonderful. The bread had a perfectly crisp outside and moist inside with garlic cloves were baked into it. The steak tartare was to die for as well! The aoli paired very well with everything incorporated into the dish and the quality of the meat was astounding. We also had the mushroom & hazelnut pate, which was good but wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. They were offering an use bouche and brought us a small bite of creamy milled grits topped with roast beef and onion. The green bean Caesar salad was basic but still delicious! The beet salad, on the other had, blew me away! It had candied walnuts which paired wonderfully with the red and golden beets. As our entree, we had the Kobe beef paired with pickled mushrooms and fingerling potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were delightful. I was not the biggest fan of the pickled mushrooms but I do recognize that others would find them pleasant! We also had the duck, which had a wonderful vegetable medley and a sweet cherry confit. Both the breast and leg meat were wonderfully cooked. Of course, there is always room for dessert! The sticky toffee pudding was delicious! It had a warm caramel sauce at the bottom that melts over the tongue. All in all, both the dining experience and the food were excellent. I recommend that anyone skiing or lodging up mountain have a wonderful dinner at The Lodge Bistro! read more

Back when the Lodge Club was a private club this was the best restaurant at Snowbird. It was always under the radar, but anyone who knew the food up here knew this was the best. Even the food and beverage manager, in the day, said they push the Aerie as the top place, but the Lodge Club had the best food. Then the private clubs went away, and perhaps the economic climate changed. Whatever it was, the Lodge went into decline to my mind. However, I'd been seeing good things happening. I just never got around to being able to get up for a meal. My economic climate had changed too. Fast forward to Thanksgiving. It had a plated menu that spoke to me and the family. I am not a fan of the buffet. The food will never match cook to order plated food. The service was a bit scattered, but the quality of the food and level of service was right on. My wife ordered the pork chop. That's nearly always a path to disappointment unless you can truly trust the restaurant to cook it properly. That's medium rare. They nailed it. The crust and spicing were perfect. It was pink and juicy all the way through. My Wagyu Bavette steak was perfect. One had the turkey and it was good as well. Until I get back for a regular dinner, it sticks at 4 stars, but it looks like a lot more people should be coming here. It's a bit hard to find, but it's worth it. read more

Additionally, it took a simple appetizer that was ordered from the onset 1.5 hours to arrive. No communication, only that it was coming soon. Seriously this place is ridiculously amazing. No joke, the pork chop special with the potatoes is literally the best pork chop I've ever had. I forgot what kind of sauce was on it but but I'd put it on everything. I'd drink it straight. I'd like to have it hooked up directly through an IV. It was so good that I made sure to sit down and write about how life-changing it was as soon as I returned to my room. Our server, Dave J, was really friendly, and was a cool dude, all around. He knew the menu, and steered my party in the right direction for what to order. I ordered a Manhattan and he asked if I'd prefer it up or on the rocks, which is something that almost nobody does. Spot on with that, too. Very few servers anywhere do that, so it's super rad when someone asks that. You couldn't ask for a better server. Really though, it was A+ service all around from everyone from the hostess to the person who kept our drinks full. Seriously though, let me get back to that pork chop for a minute. I'm going to be dreaming of it tonight. I'll be craving it for weeks. I'd eat it every day if I lived around here, was rich, and could do so without weighing 500lbs. This place ruled with the fury of 1,000 suns and I'd shout from the rooftops about how good the food & service is. You all killed it tonight, so thanks for a great meal and great service! read more

Just finished a meal at the Lodge Bistro. Started with the coconut shrimp and it was delicious. Then on to one of thee best burgers I have ever had. Cooked to perfection, tender and juicy! The sauce was amazing also. Finished the night with sharing a piece of key lime pie, and a berry dessert. Both fantastic! All while sitting outside with a gorgeous view. We will be back! read more

Meh. I had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Under-spiced batter soaked in some herb-ey kind of aioli to make it sound fancy on the menu. It was a chicken sandwich covered in mayonnaise, and it was $14. Maybe the chicken was home-schooled or fed only gold nuggets and champagne or something. Our waiter was very nice, but couldn't outweigh the mediocre food. I was staying at Snowbird for a church women's retreat and this was our Friday night dinner spot. My friend and I were seated on the patio with breathtaking views of the mountains. It was a nice evening, not too chilly and I love to eat outdoors. Our waiter was attentive, almost too attentive. Since we had not been here before, it took awhile for us to read the menu to make a decision. Plus we were talking so that also delayed the process. After checking with us about 4 times, I think he got frustrated and suddenly we had a new server. This one was perfect; pleasant and patient. We both decided to get just appetizers since we weren't too hungry. My friend got the coconut shrimp with jalapeno dipping sauce. She's not too crazy for spicy jalapeno dips, but she loved it so much. She said the shrimp was perfect also. I had the Goat Cheese platter and a cup of French Onion soup. I love goat cheese and this one came with a tomato chutney and some pesto. Plus, it had these large crackers that I think were pita bread. Anyway, I usually HATE chutney but this was amazing good. I was suprised since I usually brush any chutney off my food. 3 stars alone just for the tomato chutney. The goat cheese and crackers were awesome too. My soup was made the usual way: with bread and cheese on top. It was flavorful and somehow the bread still had crispy edges even after sitting in the soup awhile. I was impressed. Great place. Would have given it 5 stars if that original waiter hadn't been so impatient and frustrated. read more

The gourmet grilled cheese was extremely hard to eat. The bread was too hard and they should've mentioned it would be a triple decker on the menu. The mushroom burger was very dry and had no flavour. They could've maybe provided a sauce or aoili to liven up the burger so it didn't taste like we were eating cardboard. The view was beautiful and ambience was great. Second night in a row. Tonight the beef short ribs. Are you kidding, after an incredible romaine wedge like heavenly salad, I dove into the beef short ribs. No ribs, just an orgasmic chunk of fall off the bone meat with just the right amount of balsamic reduction. I was in heaven. This chef is clearly one of the top. Still dreaming of the romaine with the fresh blue cheese, most tasty thick bacon chunks and the sun dried but still most (not too dried) tomatoes. YUM! The sauce with the chunk for shot rib was perfect. I have no reason to eat anywhere else on my stay here Please, just try, you will be hooked. read more

The food was excellent, we shared three appetizers- steak tartar, pork bellies, and shrimp/scallop special. All worth writing home about. Entrées - gnocchi (awesome, blue cheese not overpowering, as is too often the case), potato crusted salmon (perfectly cooked, very tasty), and short ribs (excellent, although a little bland. Boneless, always best flavor with bone). Wines very reasonably priced. Great dessert! Overall, very highly recommended. Had gone to top restaurant in Alta earlier this week, which was a HUGE disappointment. The Lodge Bistro easily beat, in menu choices, flavors, and price. read more

The food was disappointing my meal $105 and one of the worst meals I've ever had. It took 45 minutes for us to get our food. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and when it came there was a orange sauce on it that tasted like fish. I could not swallow my meal because it was so bad.
