Absolutely excellent weeknight dinner. They were busy, but we didn't have to wait, and they continued to fill up almost to capacity. For appetizers, the roasted cauliflower and Caesar salad were very flavorful and delicious, and sized to share among four of us. Although we considered several entrees, we all selected the king salmon and it was wonderful. Served with orzo, a pea puree, and tempura asparagus, we all loved it. Couldn't resist dessert: the homemade Vietnamese coffee ice cream and the olive oil cake plus a latte. All wonderful. The only downsides were: the noise level; the space is small and we almost couldn't hear our table conversation as the dining area filled up, and the fact that they temporarily have no liquor license (in June 2026), so no wine or adult beverages were available. For mains I got the pappardelle and my date got the glazed salmon. I really liked my pappardelle, the salmon was pretty good too. Note on atmosphere: probably just a bad day, we showed up right when they opened for dinner at 5, were the only ones there, and man we were molested my flies for all of the dinner. Went on Saturday for brunch with some friends. The place is really nice and quaint. The server started off strong but fell off quickly, she disappeared and we had to find a random server to get her even to cash out and it was nearing the end of brunch we were one of the last tables around. The food was not great, the beignets were over powder sugared and did not come with nearly enough jam. Breakfast plate was pretty run of the mill like any diner would have. My friend got biscuits and gravy and he was very disappointed they came with onions because on the menu it didn't say it had them. Honestly could be an allergy concern luckily just a preference in this case. Most likely won't go back or recommend it. I've had much better brunch in SLC. read more

$59 before tax and tip. 1 Duck roll 1 Little gem (salad) 1 Khao Soi - special 1 person. No alcohol. Came in with high hopes. SLC is a really sneaky good place for food. Unfortunately, for my experience, my expectations were not properly set. But do i really need to ask more qualifying questions? I got here early on a Friday night. I wanted to jump on a seat. While it picked up, it was never packed. I was sat fairly quickly and put my order in right after i heard the specials. As I was sitting there the table next to me cleared. The person who cleans the tables came over and sprayed whatever was in the bottle, then wiped it down. Usually I'm not a fan of industrial solution smell or used around food products; But this spray didn't really have an order like that. Then as I looked at my table I noticed the silverware sat directly on the table without the use of a napkin or plate. For the food order- I took the advice of previous reviews except for the main. The duck spring rolls were dropped, piping hot. Which was nice, but the duck was dry, which is unusual. The dipping sauce with sesame seeds was delicious. I asked for their red chili paste. The peppers were mild in flavor and heat. Salad was exceptional- lettuce was perfectly chilled and the way the dressing stuck, you can tell the leaves were dry. A piquant dressing with distinctive citrus. I would eat this again. The main was not without distractions. The first plate that was dropped was missing all the proteins. I asked and was told there should be chunks of fish in there. When I showed them, they wanted to take it back. I said they could just bring the proteins on a side plate. Nope. Or just drop in this plate. Nope, they wanted to send the whole dish back. The dish comes with salmon, cod and shrimp. The 3 shrimp (size was 31-40 count per lb) were very tough and chewy. Definitely long overcooked. I pulled 3 small bones from the very little, tiney flakes of salmon or barely present cod. The protein was sub-scant, maybe 2 oz. With 99% being the shrimp. But certainly not fish chunks. Maybe these proteins stewed all day and my scoop didn't get to the bottom. Idk. The flat egg noodles were on the al dente side of al dente. Curry was very flavor fwd. While it was described as a Japanese curry (eventhough the dish orgins are from Thailand) i'd say its inspired from. Japanese and Thai curry has a delicate balance that was not present. Oh, on this second plate, the cook forgot the mushrooms. Bottom line - This dish didn't make it out of being just a noodle dish "non grata" that missed its marketing. And carried little to no value. The server was delightful throughout the meal. I was never rushed. They didn't bring a dish till I had finished the previous dish. And the person who was clearing and wiping the tables was also very attentive and filled water constantly. The check came with an unsolicited discount. Which was very nice. As I was leaving, looking at other orders, I don't believe my experience was common. I don't have beef with how you want to cook your food, but the menu and servers play a big role in setting expectations. I believe you need to give diners the full picture. A mismatch between the description and the plate doesn't just disappoint, it sours trust. I've had my eye on Provisions for a while and love that they rotate their menu. We finally came on a Thursday night and were not disappointed with our order. We opted to share small plates rather than their large plates. We ordered their hamachi crudo, shishito peppers, crispy duck rolls, and steamed pork buns. They were all delicious and we'd order all four of them again in a heartbeat. We then tried two desserts: sticky toffee pudding and olive oil cake. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing. The olive oil cake was tasty but I wish I had more of the berry compote and more cake! We additionally had ordered their house wine and lychee yuzu lemonade cocktail. We came here last year for Thanksgiving dinner and had a nice time so we decided to come back. I am not sure what changed from then to now but this was a truly awful meal. My daughter and I ordered the Thanksgiving dinner (at $75 a person) and were treated to 1. Cold pumpkin soup (starter) 2. A frankly disgusting Thanksgiving dinner that was composed of two thin, small slices of turkey that (in total) were smaller than two fingers plus what looked like whatever was left at the bottom of the turkey pan (fat and tiny giblets). The vegetables were burned and the stuffing was cold. The only thing edible on the plate was the potatoes. I overheard the server telling someone that the kitchen closed at seven and our reservation had been at six. It seemed like we got all the cold leftovers from the lunch/dinner crowd. One person in our party had dietary restrictions and despite calling in advance and being told they could make the turkey dinner for him, we were then told they couldn't as the gravy had butter, the stuffing was cooked in butter so he had to have a dish that didn't look appetizing. The icing on the cake was when dessert came - as this person could not have anything on the menu we asked for sorbet. They brought out three teaspoon sized scoops of sorbet - and charged us $20 extra for it!! In addition to the $75 per person we spent on dinner. Absolutely insane and we would never return here. We made a reservation ahead of time for a large group of 12 on a Saturday morning for brunch. Our waiter was super efficient, friendly, and attentive! He made our experience really awesome here. I like the simplicity of the menu, albeit a little pricey for what you get. The brioche French toast was delightful, not too sweet, and perfectly cooked. They had a special for brunch, the chilaquiles, were well seasoned and crisp with a decent amount of toppings. You can tell everything is homemade here with adds to the nice touch and might explain the higher price that most menu items have. This is probably the perfect date night spot - a local restaurant, bespoke decoration (including festive classy decorations for the holidays), tasty food, even better mocktails, and top notch service. As soon as I sat down and looked at the menu, I looked to my husband and said "everything looks good so I'll eat whatever you pick out". This rarely, if ever, happens. I usually find two things that look good and convince him to order one of them so I can try both. Here there were so many good things it wouldn't have mattered. We had the beet panzanella salad to start which went beyond the over-used typical beet salad with more flavor and perfectly prepared beets. We ordered the elk with black lentils and the rabbit pasta for mains. The elk was very nicely prepared, and beautiful to look at. The rabbit pasta was initially bland, but the waiter and chef insisted on preparing a new one which we took home. The new one was much more flavorful with the hearty taste of the rendered bacon and the ragout. The mocktails were probably the best I've had anywhere - I like that the trend is catching on and the lychee drink was my favorite. Before we ordered, I liked that the waiter knew the menu well and had tasted dishes to be able to share what he liked. He also seemed to have a lot of respect (reverence even) for the chef. He didn't push certain dishes but could assist with recommendations given a particular palette or flavor profile you were looking for. That lychee yuzanade is a perfect summer cocktail, but no less delicious in January. If you're looking for a place for a quiet chat with your co-diners, this is not eat. This one has been on my list for awhile-as several people have told me I needed to check it out. Why, then, did it take me so long to get over here? Not sure, but it was worth the wait-and I'll be certain to return frequently now that I've discovered just how wonderful it is! Our server picked up on our personalities and played into our conversation and dialogue well. She made wonderful recommendations and was patient with us as we took a long time to decide what to order and then to finally pay our bill at the end. I've been here once for dinner last year and once for brunch recently. Dinner was an enjoyable experience because it's such a cute restaurant. However, be prepared to pay quite a bit. Parking is limited which can be a hassle if there are no spots left in the parking lot. For Sunday Brunch we had reservations which made it easy for our big group and little ones. It was pretty busy so service was a bit slow. I ordered the chicken and waffles and a side a fruit to share with my little. The chicken and waffles were so crispy to the point it was almost burnt. Waffles should be slightly crispy on the outside yet chewy on the inside but these were crispy throughout. The batter on the chicken had the same issue just overly cooked where it hurt your teeth to bite into it. The low rating was for the service. Our waiter seemed a bit out of it and wasn't friendly at all. He also added an order into our table that was meant for another table. I know mistakes happen, which is fine, but it was what he did after he discovered the mistake which was shocking. A runner dropped off some donut holes I believe on our table that none of us ordered. We told her we didn't order them and she just left them when we jokingly said oh guess you gotta leave then then. She laughed and shrugged her shoulders and walked off. A good 10 minutes passed and our server came over and asked if we ordered them and we told him no. I then saw him take the order, walk it to the bar, and then walked back and handed the same plate to the table behind us. As a former server this was a big no no because you never know if anyone had touched it already. He didn't even ask if we did, but just playing it off like he was just dropping them off did not sit well with me and just felt dishonest and could possibly put people at risk. One of the girls ordered some fruit for her baby which took 20 minutes to bring out a bowl of berries. We were all long done by the time he brought them. When the checks came turns out he added the donuts onto the bill of one of the girls at our table so he had to rectify that. All in all a nice place to grab a bite for the ambience but the food and service are not memorable. read more

Well, it's time for another review of Provisions, just off 3300 S. and 2300 E. When the boys get together and can't come up with a place, Provisions always wins! The six of us enjoyed another Sunday brunch at what's turned out to be one of our favorite places The wait staff is always attentive, helpful and keeps our coffee cups full. That's a big deal! Around the table, we had Eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, avocado toast, blueberry pancakes, and what I would consider their signature dish, chicken and waffles. Everything was presented extremely well. No complaints from anyone, and we LOVE to complain!! We always begin our brunch with a bowl of the beignets served with a fruit compote. Service was ok, our server was great and food came out quickly but drinks took a while. I was already half way through my entree when our drink orders came in. And the lamb chops had about 3 bites worth of lamb and the rest of the plates was just filled with potatoes...the prices do not equate to the food. I had to give my guest like 3 strips of my steak because I felt bad that she got such little meat. The service was decent, but not to the caliber I'd expect for the prices they were charging. My water was empty 70% of the time and I'd only get more if I brought it to my waiter's attention. The ambiance was nothing special. Where we were sitting, the tables are very close to each other so there isn't really any personal space. My favorite plates were the lamb riblet and cauliflower, both were incredibly flavorful and really stood out. The halibut was good, the Tom Kha delicious and a large portion. The only thing that was just okay was my unwedged wedge salad. After sitting on a few days I actually downgraded it to a 4 star. If I could I would probably go 4.5. The small plates were great. The service was excellent, but they make everything fresh so it may take a little longer if you order the duck. Went on a Saturday night with a reservation and it wasn't too busy. You can choose to sit inside or outside. If you feel like treating yourself to a nice dinner for date night I highly recommend Provisions. It's an experience! Our bill came to $150 for two people but my date was happy to pay it because of how great the food tasted. We also ordered one of their cocktails and a glass of rose. We were looking for a place to eat on Friday night and in our very hungry stuper, we landed on Provisions. We were able to make a reservation right away. This place was PACKED when we walked in. They don't have a ton of parking at the restaurant, and it looked like they had a back event space that was being utilized so we parked across the street, which was not a big deal at all. We had to wait for maybe 5 minutes before we were seated. I didn't catch our server's name but she was incredible - so friendly and had amazing service. Provisions has a delicious little summer menu right now with summery cocktails, and really unique and yummy entrees and appetizers. We were SO hungry and started with the focaccia bread app, but the table next to us got some grilled bread with what looked like whipped butter and we were kicking ourselves that we didn't order that. The focaccia was decent, but wasn't my preference and I probably wouldn't order again. It had blue cheese (which we ordered it without), asian pear, caramelized onion and balsamic. There was a mushroom appetizer special that night that was SO GOOD. Mushrooms are always hit or miss for me, and when they came out I was not expecting the amount of flavor they were packed with. So delicious. We were wishing we had ordered more of them. I ordered the ricotta gnudi for my entree and it lacked flavor for me. It had pesto and pistachios but I was left wanting more from it. I asked for some salt and pepper to add to it, and it still was missing something. This won't deter me from coming back, because the space was lovely and the other items on the menu looked good. read more

I made a reservation and took mom for brunch on her birthday. Although we had to wait a few minutes, once seated we were quickly greeted and our order was taken. The atmosphere is inviting and attractive. The menu has a nice selection of choices for brunch. I saw many eating the Eggs Benedict (I wish they had a vegetarian version on the menu, but perhaps they would have accommodated me). The Dutch Baby looked tasty and large. The popular Beignets were loaded with powdered sugar. We opted for the Avocado Toast and Blueberry Ricotta pancakes. The three slices of toast had a nice flavor, topped with hard boiled egg slices and radishes. The bread was good, but difficult to cut a bite from. If I were to create the dish, I would serve it with a little arugula and a warm fried egg on top. The pancakes were heavenly, served with a scrumptious lemon curd and real maple syrup that would have made cardboard taste good. But, the blueberry pancakes were perfect on their own as well. I was hosting a guest who was dining there for the first time, and unfortunately, they were unimpressed with how we were treated. The food was great, but the service fell far below expectations. Our server seemed disengaged from the start--barely making eye contact, scanning the room as if she had better things to do. I ordered coffee, but wasn't asked if I wanted cream, and when I did request it, her response felt begrudging. My coffee was never refilled, and we were never checked on throughout the meal. Once we finished eating, she cleared our plates and promptly brought the bill--no follow-up, no offer for anything more. My guest commented that the service seemed to reflect the overall vibe: inattentive. The dining area is beautifully decorated and has a really cool vibe. The kitchen is open so you can see the chef's cooking. The staff was really kind and the food was incredible. Came here for a friends birthday where we rented out the back cabin and it was a lovely evening. It was very intimate and held about 30 people. We had our own bartender and multiple servers who were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend renting that space for a special occasion. We had the crispy Brussels sprouts, charcuterie boards, taglirani and lots of delicious wine! Everything was fresh and flavorful and came out fairly quickly for being such a large group. Provisions is a reliably good restaurant that my wife and I have frequented often. Last night we experienced something surprising though. The older male cook behind the bar was cussing out a poor young female waitress repeatedly as we enjoyed our meal at the bar. He thought he was being sly about it, but he was directly in front of us and saying some horrible things in her direction, making not only her uncomfortable but the additional staff around him were notably uncomfortable too. It was extremely uncomfortable for us as customers to see him do this repeatedly without consequence. I hope that when we return, we can enjoy the usual good food and service we've come to expect without this creep harassing the young women that work there. read more
