We were really disappointed with our meal here. It's unfortunate because the ambiance was great and it's located right off a beautiful golf course, but for the prices they charge, our meal was not worth what we spent. The steak was underseasoned, overcooked, and probably the smallest portion of steak I've ever received from a restaurant. It was smaller than the veggies on the plate. The broccoli was so hard and undercooked, I couldn't stab it with my fork. Also not salted. The best thing on the plate was the twice baked potato, which is disappointing when you spend $46 on this plate. My friend's pasta was also an insanely small portion and also tasted really strange. It was a papardelle truffle pasta and the sauce tasted sweet...? Almost like a Thai curry in my opinion. If it was good, we wouldn't have minded the tiny portion but it wasn't and didn't come with a protein either. Our friend who got a burger and fries had the best meal out of all of us. The mocktails were also good. Honestly, I think this place needs to stick to pub food. That seems to be their strong suit. Service was okay. I understand they were busy. But nothing noteworthy to comment about there.

A great lodge tucked away from tourist. Only knew of these fantastic spot because my cousins live a 1/2 mile away from there. Very nice ambiance and cozy, get there early for the happy hour, great prices on drinks and 20% off the yummy food options, service was exceptional and food is very good

Came in during the holidays, and the place was packed. Was seated pretty quickly in the bar area, ordered up some tasty libations, and was eager to try the meatloaf. Needless to say, it was great. From the carrots to the mashed taters and the bacon wrapped turkey meatloaf was . Also tried the calamari, which was on point as well.

We were in the pub area, so an interesting area, but the food and service was perfect! I'll try the actual restaurant next time. If you're in the Truckee area...give them a try.

    prime rib special

This place is the best!! Conveniently located right next to Tahoe Donner, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The restaurant has a cozy and relaxing ambiance, and all of the waiters and staff were super friendly. We got the octopus appetizer (cooked by Ryan), the prime rib special (cooked by Ryan), and the ahi tuna special (cooked by Jack). Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection!!

Great food drinks and ambience. The service was awesome. Avoid downtown truckee traffic. Love it there.

This place is mid. Apps are premade and came out like they had a buffet layout in the back and spooned as orders come in.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's actually pretty spacious inside. We did have to wait a little bit to get a menu, but once we got one, we ordered our drinks and food. We got the Margherita pizza, and it was SO good! I loved how crispy the crust was. When you picked up a slice, it didn't just flop over. It stayed nice and crispy. It had so much flavor, and I was seriously so happy with it. I also got the Help Wanted drink, and it was really good too. I think I found my new favorite pizza spot! If you're ever in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'm already planning to go back so I can try more of their pizzas and appetizers!

The quality of the food, and the care that used to go into preparing and presenting it, has completely fallen off a cliff. During my most recent visit this week I noticed that much of the kitchen staff seemed to be different from the team I've seen over the past few years. The pizza was genuinely disappointing. The crust lacked flavor, the toppings were sparse and it felt like something that had been rushed out of the kitchen with little attention to detail. Even the presentation was careless, which was surprising because this restaurant used to take pride in what they served. It's frustrating to see a place that I used to recommend decline this much. I really hope the upper management takes a look at what's happening to the restaurant because the Old Town Tap I used to enjoy no longer seems to exist.

If you ask me for places that stand out in the greater Reno-Tahoe region brew scene, The Good Wolf…read morewould be near the top of the list. For years now, I've been saying these guys make some of the best, most unique beers in our area. And anyone looking for a solid pint or some creative things to try, would do well to swing by. Firstly, I absolutely love the location. It's a cozy little spot in the north Truckee industrial area. But step through the doors, and you enter a space that can only be described as a mix of hippy commune and witch's lair, with some delightfully quirky decor, and an incredibly friendly staff. Really does feel like a hidden gem. But as for r the beers themselves; in short, I think these are some of the best quality, and most niche types of brews you'll find around here. They have a smaller menu, but what they have is dominated by their Forest Beer series. These are concoctions made with all sorts of foraged ingredients from the forests, fields, and farms close to Truckee. Always changing, it is something to try out. The Borrowed Bines used fresh cut hops, the Bay Shore uses locally culled bay leaves, the Range of Light uses picked juniper berries, and the Dirt Candy uses mushrooms that grow in the woods. They also have been breaking into brewing their own apple cider, which is delicious but quite strong. Plus, they will usually have N/A options with their house lemonade or brewed soda on tap, too. So yeah, the menu almost certainly has something for everyone. Prices for everything are pretty typical.for the area, usually around $8-9 per pint. Though my one sort of gripe is that the smaller 4-5 ounce tasters are like $4 each, a bit pricier than most other tasters, so that makes it quickly more pricy to try out a lot of their menu. If you want any beers to-go, sadly they only offer a few at this juncture, and in bottles. And there is no food here, just a few snacks for sale. But make sure to browse their swag stands, as they have some eclectic merch. All in all, I definitely encourage any beer fans to come and check this spot out. Been one of my favorites for years, and I'll bet it can easily become one of yours, too. Cheers, all!
