So happy I came here on Monday 04/27. I was explaining to Betty that it was my only day off and really needed a haircut. She took me in very last minute after calling around 12. The salon is very clean and beautiful. I absolutely loved my haircut by her. I told her very specific instructions but was not too strict with the style because I know that sometimes a trim does require more of a structured cut. She educated me on what would be best and started my trim, wash (with a little head massage), and blowout for a great price. DO NOT BOOK LUZ. She will not listen to your instructions, and she WILL chop off your hair. I asked her for trim with a few long layers, and she chopped my hair to my bra strap with a LOT of layers starting at the nape of my neck. She barely glanced at the photo that I brought in for her to reference, and had to ask her coworker "what's the English word for bangs?" in Spanish. Unless this business booked an English-speaking client with a Spanish-speaking salonist, who then PRETENDED to know English to get my money- neither I, nor my mother, nor my cousins, nor my friends, nor my coworkers will ever return back to this place, I WILL be leaving a review on social media for all others to hear about LUZ and The Loft. I will make certain that everyone who enters our health clinic knows about LUZ, her refusal to accept instructions, and that she's a chop-shop. I will not be back. I went for a blowout with Julie Annette. I also called beforehand to get a price and was told the blowout would be 55$. For a basic wash and dry, I walked out paying 90 DOLLARS. My hair is FLAT. There is no volume. I could have done this at home. The point of a blowout is to use tension to create big hair. On TOP OF THAT, I zelled her and she said "i didn't get it, can you pay with card?". Ummm what?? I literally had to ask her to check her email and she said oh never mind I got it! So unprofessional. Okay so she's openly trying to charge me TWICE. I have heard from someone else that this place is full of scammers. You can see from the photo that this is not 90$ hair. It was 85$ and I tipped 5$. Not even the nice luxury salons in Downey charge this much. read more

I called to schedule an appointment and asked the lady at the front desk what the ballpark price would be so I know what to expect and she told me $285. I arrived and Luz was very sweet although we had minimal communication because she didn't speak much English. I didn't mind as I use these times as a little me time. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she got started. I should have clarified beforehand the price as well as time because I ended up being in the chair for almost 6 hours and was charged $560. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my hair and she took her time and did an amazing job so I don't want to take away from that. I would just say I think the language barrier and I should have confirmed beforehand the price and time it was going to take because it was a bit of a sticker shock for me at the end. Okay, so this happened about 2 years ago when I went and the reason I'm writing a review now is because it still haunts me. So, I decided to make an appointment since it was the closest one to my house. When I arrive it's quite literally like some abandoned place. It was me and 2 other clients WAITING to get attended when there was literally just ONE person working. About 30 minutes passed and I finally get attended (WAYYY past my appointment time) by some young woman who I guess was barely clocking in? And she had her kids with her, but you do you girl. Anyways, she was nice, but I remember vividly showing her I wanted WISPY bangs....tell me why she gives me a full set of bangs. UNBELIEVABLE! She had me looking like lord farquad for about a month! Keep in mind I texted Betty what I wanted and that I had a dance to go to right after When I got there, she was dying someone else's hair and forgot about my appointment I sat in a chair waiting for almost 30 minutes and she finally got started on my hair After she has her "assistant" wash my hair Betty was brushing my hair so rough. My scalp was soar after leaving the salon I don't have a sensitive scalp I simply asked for her to curl my hair and give a little trim with curtain bangs which came out looking so nice But the service was terrible She proceeded to charge me $130 for a trim and to curl my hair which she was so rough with I don't know how she works there The place is alright. Great location and everyone is very nice. I went in for a hair cut. When I arrived, I was lead to my chair where i would be getting my hair cut. The woman cutting my hair appeared to be scared to cut my hair. She's ask me how much I wanted to cut off and she'd cut off a small piece and ask me if it was okay. After the 4th time of her asking if it was okay, I said it was fine because I was tired of her asking me. At one point she kept cutting my hair at an angle to get the curtain hair look and my hair was coming off but it looked exactly the same. She eventually told me that I have thick hair and it was difficult to cut my type of hair. She asked another hair stylist to cut my hair because she couldn't cut mine. The woman that took over did the best she could but she also did not cut hair well so i just asked her to stop so I could go home. I was super upset and it was noticeable that i was upset and was told I did not have to pay because i was very unhappy with the service. I went in at 1pm and left a little after 3pm, for a haircut. People around me were getting color done on their hair and they looked amazing. If you're looking to add color to your hair I recommend you come here. Clients were coming out of there looking great with their new colors. I do not recommend you come here if you need a hair cut. read more
