We came in on an early Sunday afternoon (1545-1600). Service was initially slow, taking almost 20 minutes to take a drink order. Our server, Mika, was incredibly apologetic about it taking so long and jumped right into taking our order and bringing us drinks. Food was okay, not as good as expected at this price point, but the portions make up for this. The chairs! This is altogether something else. Hard, metal chairs with not padding. Not exactly comfortable. If you're lucky enough to get a booth, everyone will be more comfortable and willing to stay. Place is not bad, just don't set your expectations too high. read more

Came in late afternoon on St Patrick's for the special. Sausages over mashed potatoes with peas, cooked onions and brown gravy. Very good! Now the funny part is we said we both want the same. It came out with an extra plate and 2 spoons! We looked at it and we're totally puzzled. Lol we never share, we only eat one meal a day. She put in another order but it took awhile for it to come out. The compensation was a card for free Deviled eggs. We don't even like them here. Tried to give it away , but next table didn't want it either. Sooo we will be sure and make sure we say 2 orders. Glad we weren't in a hurry. I came here a few nights ago for the first time with my son and daughter-in-law. I recently moved to Mustang and I'm a Foodie. They said this was one of the better restaurants in town. It was busy when we came in for dinner and took a hightop since the other tables were filled and didn't feel like waiting. We started out with the Bacon Onion Dip. It was cheesy goodness with kettle chips. I highly recommend this for an appetizer. I would be cool with having a beer and this watching a game. I love deviled eggs and they told me they do fried deviled eggs , but they said they were kind of plain , nothing like I make at home. Of course a week after moving here I had to make them a plate of mine. I had the Bison Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Onion Rings. It came with 2 pieces , one being the butt end and it was the best and tastiest piece. The brown gravy was the right thickness , not runny , and good flavor. Onion Rings were good also. I've loved bison/buffalo for a few years now since I first had it in Montana. My daughter in law had the Bison Burger. It was not bad , but I've had better. My son had the Cheesesteak and he and I both thought it was a letdown. We had a few places in Vegas where we used to live that were so good and authentic. The meat was chopped in very fine pieces , not shaved or chopped bigger and hardly any green peppers , just tiny slivers. Also not a lot of seasoning , kind of plain tasting. Fries were okay. The service was pretty good for it to be as busy as it was. The server did forget our extra ranch and my daughter in law asked for guacamole on the side and she forgot that too. She did apologize and we weren't charged for it. I think it's a nice restaurant and I'm sure I will return again another day. It's very popular. read more

Came by for lunch with a work colleague. Their Fried Devil Eggs were decent. I wasn't too crazy for the Lokal Club. Not sure what that taste was. I prolly just needed to try something else. My friend got the Chicken Fried Steak, which was humongous. She had to eat it with a knife and fork. It was almost for a mountain man who can put the whole thing in his mouth to eat it. The 2 little ladies struggled with what we ordered. Our waitress was nice and friendly, location was clean enough. Will prolly come back and try other stuff. read more

Second time visiting the Lokal and I'm always impressed. They have specials often and I was able to get $5 house glasses on wine on the night I went. Immediately upon entering we were greeted and service was fast and friendly. For appetizers the buffalo chicken fries are amazing and highly recommend it. For dinner I had the blackened salmon which was very flavorful and delicious but I could do without the lemon sauce. My side was rice pilaf which was good but it was more so simply rice and missed the veggies you'd see in rice pilaf typically. Nonetheless it was good. I'd definitely be back and highly recommend them. read more

I keep trying this restaurant because it's not a big chain with flair buttons and 3 menu inserts. I do recommend any of their fried chicken (strips, steaks, sandwiches) because it's clearly hand breaded; also love their pork chops. Tonight I was craving a juicy cheeseburger and they missed all the marks. A burger served with no mayo, mustard, ketchup (and they forgot the pickles) then cooked well done is just a dry mouth experience. When the server, who brought the meal to us bar-side, asked if we needed anything else, we requested ketchup and she pointed to the bartender and told us he would have some...so we just sat for a couple minutes till he was done with his other tasks to get his attention for ketchup.... And mustard and pickles...Anyway, serving a well done burger without mayo or anything to cut the dry on dry bite is poor execution. They didn't ask my preferred temp so maybe they just enjoy cooking out all of the moo in a burger. The place is fine, service is pretty typical for high school staff but the period of time between visits keeps getting longer and longer so overall this Lokal location is just a decent meh with a downward curve read more

So everybody knows that going out to eat is ridiculously expensive nowadays and what you find is that the servings are smaller and the price is bigger. I'm going to say that I hope they never change the size of their portions of their food. We had the best meal that we've had in such a long time today. We had the local salad and the Indian taco and of course we typically share. They were both amazing! And plenty of food. We were both stuffed! Katie was our server in the bar and she did a great job taking care of us! Looking at the size of other people's plates... Like the tenders with mashed potatoes and asparagus! Made our eyes bug out! They looked so amazing! We can't wait to come back and try some other items! The only downer is the water taste funky. Stopped through - wife had been here before and was requesting we eat here for dinner on a Friday night. Before Mustang Broken Arrow football game. Hunger fixing was the goal -my first time here... Had a Miller Lite to start - definitely worth the decision! Baseball game was on the bar TVs what a crisp picture as well as KU and kstate football. Not a bad seat in the place really.... and the food was TASTY. Daughter loved the catfish!!! Portions were large. The hospitality from the male server from Broken Arrow was warm and friendly! The boss decided all the food choices. The girls split a chicken with fries. And the boss had us split the avacado m chicken sandwich. The flavor and the size was perfect! The Moz sticks app- dynamite. Had a banana pudding cheesecake as dessert... Fire. We will return again. Layout was nice and spacious. Bathrooms were clean. Do not come here if you have a large group eating together. They will put you at a small table and squeeze extra chairs at the table leaving no elbow room to eat. Even though they have room to combine two tables to fit your group together. Half of my food was cold and soaked in oil. They also forgot the aju sauce that went with a sandwich that someone in my group ordered. read more

Once the food came it was hot and had very good portions. Flavors on the grilled vegetables and blackened catfish were notable. The restaurant is big and has a great interior. I usually start with talking about the food but I believe the staff and service need to get the gold star here. We were seated quickly and everyone here was amazing. We even got a visit from the manager and made sure everything was good. Thank you for that. Now the food. My son and I stopped in on Sunday morning while out doing "guy stuff". He dad steak and eggs and I had a patty melt. His steak was cooked to his liking and they said they gave him two scrambled eggs but it sure looked like it was more like three or four. My patty melt was really good and fresh. I don't know why restaurants use marble rye bread but I prefer a good seeded Jewish rye for my sandwich. I think it gives it a better flavor. But overall it was a good patty melt. My sandwich came with some french fries that were delicious. If I had one thing that I wasn't that impressed with it would be the deep fried deviled eggs. I am a deviled eggs connoisseur and that is not my preferred method. Overall grade "B+". I would go there again if I was out in that neck of the woods. read more
