Honestly, it's refreshing to not feel rushed at a dinner service. We enjoyed our conversation over a bottle off their (small) wine list instead. We ordered the spring pre fix and it was just ALL hits, no misses. I wrinkled my nose at the menu a bit because I don't particularly love fennel or mint or lamb or hell even salmon but I I have been converted. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and portioned. The bread...the bread was the best bread starter I've tried. My wife hates oysters and loved the oyster (she tries everything cos she's not a child). The gnocchi was pillowy soft and amazing, not gummy or dense or mushy. The asparagus?! Amaze amaze amaze. 5 perfect courses (6 if you count the 2x different items for the table) for $77 a person?!?! We finally got to try Sedalia's, and there's a reason they keep showing up on every list of "best restaurants" or James Beard nominations and semi finalists! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We dined here on a weekday evening and sat outside in their tent that was complete with a heater and an occasional appearance of the neighborhood cat. The exterior is so cute with pretty lights, and it felt super romantic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't remember exactly what all the dishes were when we were here, but we tried 1/2 dozen oysters in addition to 3 other dishes, a tuna and pear crudo, pasta with clams?, and a crab risotto. Everything was absolutely divine!! The oysters were perfectly complemented by a nice tangy mignonette with lemon and hot sauce, and the tuna and pear crudo-like dish we had was probably my favorite of the evening. We enjoyed the pasta dish, and then the crab risotto just completely wow'd us! We're quite the seafood diners, and the seafood at Sedalia's was unmatched. Our server was also excellent, and we had a wonderful time here. My only complaint was that I did realize I was still a bit peckish after getting home from dinner, so I would have appreciated maybe slightly larger portions. Sedalia's is one of those places that reminds you why great restaurants matter. The focus on pristine seafood is real, not marketing fluff. We started with a dozen oysters and they were excellent. Briny, cold, clean, and clearly handled with care. The baked oysters took things in a richer direction and still held onto that sense of restraint that defines the kitchen. The dayboat scallops were a standout. Perfectly cooked, balanced, and confident. No excess, just technique and great product. The tricolore salad and sourdough were simple but sharp, doing exactly what they should between heavier plates. Where Sedalia's really impressed me, in my opinion, was range. Beef heart was bold and deeply satisfying without being intimidating. The agnolotti was comforting and elegant at the same time. The octopus was tender, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully composed. Even the baked chicken thighs, a dish that can feel like an afterthought elsewhere, were excellent and intentional. Both desserts were worth ordering. Not overly sweet, not gimmicky, and a perfect way to land the meal. The wine program deserves its own mention. The selection leans smart, especially with sparkling wines and whites, which pair beautifully with the menu. It's curated by someone who clearly drinks wine, not just sells it. One of my biggest pet peeves when dining out is dropping a lot of money and still leaving hungry. Unfortunately, that was exactly the experience here. If you decide to go, try not to focus on the check--just enjoy the meal for what it is: a creative, one-of-a-kind culinary experience. The food, while inventive and well-executed in flavor, comes in very small portions. Our server explained the dishes are tapas-style, but even with that in mind, the sizes felt stingy for the price. For example, the fougasse was burnt, which made it tough rather than soft and chewy. On the upside, the oysters--both East and West Coast--were incredibly fresh. The mahi mahi crudo with mango honey was a bright, refreshing dish, and the standout of the evening was the grilled golden tilefish with bouillabaisse sauce. The tomato-based sauce was rich, balanced, and beautifully done. Our server was attentive and friendly, and you could sense the passion from the kitchen staff in every plate. Went here last night with my brother and his girlfriend. My brother made reservations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very small, intimate place, kind of dark (I used my phone to look at the menu), cloth napkins, cool background music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the daily selection of oysters, also the baked oysters with beurre blanc, smoked roe and chives. Then ordered the sea urchin crab fat risotto with furikake (my brother ordered the exact same things). My brother's girlfriend had the hamachi with passionfruit, aguachile and avocado and the fennel conserva toast with bacon jam and caesar dressing. The oysters and the separate dishes were delicious - the kind of delicious where you swear under your breath as you're chewing and shake your head in amazement. What was really cool was when the chefs brought out the separately prepared dishes and explained to each one of us as to what we were about to eat - I thought that was a really nice touch. We had a great experience, our server Danni patiently explained the menu to us, and made sure that we always had drinks - my brother's girlfriend and I had mocktail gin drinks that were very good, my brother had red wine. The restaurant has a separate wine and drink list to choose from. We came here during our anniversary as we had been wanting to try some good quality seafood dishes and heard Sedalia's was the place to check out! The venue is small, comfortable, almost nostalgic. You know you're here for good food when you sit down. We had plans to hop around to other places that night so we kept it light. We both got some white wine and tried the fresh oysters, grilled oysters, beef heart, and a type of crudo that they had on the menu at the time. Everything was so light, refreshing, and flavorful. If I was tasked with 3 words to describe Sedalia's, it would be Addictive, Fresh, and Orgasmic. Freshest seafood! I will go toe to toe with someone about this land locked state having some of the best seafood I have tasted, because of them! The consistently changing menu, had me returning almost weekly. Follow them on Instagram, they usually post what is being served that week/day. I was addicted to trying new items! The raw bar has me in a chokehold and those oysters with buerre blanc and roe...my taste buds had to have had an orgasm. I always go by myself and mostly sit at the bar where I get to observe all the cooking, dishwashing, etc and I just love it, they pay so much attention to details. I have yet to meet a chef, sous chef, server that was not attentive and kind. Also, the bathroom is clean and the drinks are strong. I hope they stay forever. read more

With one night in OKC we decided on dinner at Sedalia's hoping for really good food in a relaxed space with friendly service. The food and drinks were outstanding, the service was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a lovely evening. Oysters were crisp and flavorful, celery and marcona almond salad was tart and refreshing, the hake was flaky and fresh accompanied by a wonderful dipping duo of aoili and a mojo sauce that was divine. Spinach gnocchi was cooked perfectly. And the warm focaccia with salted cod butter drizzled with chili oil was irresistible - an absolute must have. We devoured it like we hadn't eaten in days (we had, trust me). And the homemade tonic is delicious on its own or with gin. It's also a must have. We chose Sedalia's to celebrate our anniversary and we are so pleased that we did! My husband and I enjoy fresh oysters, but since moving to OKC from Charleston (SC), we've struggled to find a seafood place that meets our expectations. Also dnt be afraid of the location it's not the best but maybe in time it will clean up. The oysters are the star and boy! were they good, the grilled and raw. The sauces they provide in a dropper which makes you feel oh!so high class. The potatoes were good even though they are basically grilled and you only get 3, even an extra order is only 3. We also got scallops from the raw bar and WOW they were the best raw scallops I have ever tasted! Each bite was bursting with flavor! I wish there was less cream because it masked some of the flavor. We also got the gnocchi with crab and I loved all the fresh crab bites and mushrooms! We got the grilled oysters which were tasty- yet again a little heavy on the cream. The only dish that was a disappointment was the duck breast. I wish I had gone with the black cod instead! The duck tasted very gamey (I'm a Peking duck kind of gal) - so my husband ate all of it. Disappointing experience this time. 2 out of 4 dishes were very good but the other two were tasteless. The two cold dishes were pretty bad. It was bit of a shock since I had higher expectations for the quality of the seafood here. The two raw fishes had pretty much no flavor whatsoever and rubbery texture as if the fishes were left open in the fridge for a day or two. Also chili oil had no depth as you would expect. The raw flavor of peas for the halibut made the dish even less appealing. Overall, the two dishes just did not work even though I am someone who enjoys new and different flavor. Funny how the chef asked me how the food was right after I had the worst dish i ever had from here. I just couldn't be honest at the time though. On the other hand, the hot food, that were cooked by a different person, were spot on. The scallop dish with gnocchi was perfect. Gnocchi actually had no gluten development so it was super fluffy and melted. Scallops were also very fresh and cooked perfectly. Crispy outside and soft inside with awesome natural seafood sweetness. I might try this restaurant one more time despite disappointing experience. One of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. For the price and the hype, I expected far better. The portions were ridiculously small and we left still hungry. The oysters bordered on bland, and the squid dish was completely ruined by undercooked onions that overpowered everything. The squid itself didn't seem fresh and may have been poorly sourced or stored. The only dish that was somewhat enjoyable was a crab and mushroom cream sauce, but it felt incomplete without bread to soak it up. Main entree- I had (pretty sure she said Mackerel)which was a mild fresh fish served over tomatoes- just ok. Duck Confit Pappardelle- fresh pasta was good, but duck confit-no flavor. Lastly, Honey Semifreddo- small piece lacked creaminess(very Small piece to charge on menu $14) the shocker of all was the so called Cheese Plate(on menu $14), it should've been served as an Amuse Bouche! This place was a unique little gem. My wife brought me here as a birthday surprise and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This restaurant has a new fresh menu every couple of weeks and everything is made from scratch at the time of order which is rare and very cool. The focaccia was definitely one of the best bites of the evening. It was salty and creamy and just soooo good. Then comes the crab, which is crunchy and tastes so delicate with every bite. This is one of those spots that ten years from now people will be like, I remember when they located on NW 10th and now they are the hottest spot in town with a year long waiting list, Michelin chef and prime location in the heart of OKC. I digress. My friend invites me to dinner, it's not what I was expecting and I could be fangirling because I've never had oysters before, but bayyyybee they were delicious! The cowboy bacon cream oysters are still living rent free in my taste buds. They make a speciality tonic and the only thing I would suggest is a signature cocktail. I ended up getting a soda and adding vodka and I didn't think to ask what kind of vodka but I know it was cheap vodka because I had a headache afterward. Service was fantastic, super attentive, knowledge of the menu all the good stuff you expect when spending upwards $200. Ambiance is interesting, it's a tight space, so if you're claustrophobic, stay away. It was very chilly, they basically built a patio and you're seated in an enclosed patio space. I can imagine how brutal it might get in the summers. So dress accordingly. The tables are small and not much space to put a bag or a coat. They do have a coat rack, one you would find in your home - so it was very much giving strong possibility of bedbugs. Okay I'm being dramatic. Anyway, go check it out! read more

Tried this place after 3 months. Such a disappointment. Server (ella) didn't know her menu and couldn't tell me about the dish I asked about. Forgot to ring in some of our stuff. Portions were SOOOO SMALL! Chef, I understand it's not always about quantity but $28 for 4 slices of sashimi and ponzu?!?! And even the tuna which is one of our favorites is only like 4 tiny pieces for $18! I'm just disappointed and mad of what changes were made. No longer a go to place of ours. read more

Everything here is incredible. Come with a group of 4 and share lots of plates and try everything. Every item on the menu is exquisite. Drove by this place a couple times and thought hm that place looks cool. It's a small building but they renovated it in a really neat way. Customer service is top notch, it's almost like a mixture of high end classy service with cool vibes. Although I'll admit it was a slow day, still they were very friendly. Okay the food.... Everything I had was delicious. Their seafood is fresh and the flavors are done very well. Unfortunately the whole time I could not stop thinking about how expensive everything was. I'll pay for high quality food any day but their menu felt like it was at least 1.5x too expensive. I'm sure they have their reasons but I feel like many customers will be surprised when they sit down and see the prices. I probably won't go back because of this reason. What a fabulous experience! We didn't have a reservation, but stopped by just to see what was available... two spots at the counter with a personalized heater waiting for us. But even before getting in the door, a representative helped us park in the small front lot. All the wait staff (which is also the kitchen staff) were friendly, informative, and happy to share their passion with us newbies. We were on a semi-strict diet...so all raw dishes were shared: 3 types oysters, sea urchin (Uni), bluefin tuna (toro), and scallops. Since our daughter has wanted to go to Sedalias all year, we took her there for her 45th birthday. What a gem! They have fantastic fresh seafood: oysters, fish stew, hake, scallops and much more. We especially loved their homemade focaccia bread and house-made sauces. The service is friendly and attentive. It's important to have a reservation because it is a small restaurant, and it's busy every night. Don't let the simple place and location influence you; this restaurant is really great! Excellent service and food was very good. Not as spicy as some Thai restaurants but the flavors were on point.

The food wasn't bad- it was fresh. There was only one kind of mid oyster and it was served willy nilly. Half the stuff on the menu wasn't available. TINY PLACE.
