Sorta cheese curds... I think it's cubed Munster - but serviceable.
    Eric B.

Interesting interior and the service was really efficient. Food OK. Cheese curds are not cheese curds, they are deep fried cubes of Munster. They are decent, but not curds. The fish sandwich was dependent but visually, not so great... what's with the square, thin flavorless piece of melted American Cheese on the very square fried fish... ala a McDonalds Filet-O- Fish. The "cheese" added nothing as it was flavorless and visually not speaking. Salads were nice but a bit on the spendy side. Fish sandwich with coleslaw or fries was 15 bucks. Cosmo was 10 bucks. So altogether with a tip... fish sandwich, one drink, cheese cubes and a salad was $70. Food wasn't terrible... but it just didn't feel like a $70 experience. All in all it was a shoulder shrug.

    Spicy pepp pizza

Stopped in Tuesday evening of their "soft open". Taps weren't working yet but that's why places soft open, so no worries. Canned beer was still very good and service was excellent and very friendly. But the pizza...oh boy is the pizza good. Got the spicy pepp and it's different than any pizza I've had before. On an almost focaccia like crust, crispy on the outside but soft inside. Cooked perfectly with plenty of toppings. Really excellent, this is going to be dangerous to have so close by. Impressed that they found a way to offer a unique take on something as ubiquitous as pizza.

    Prime rib dip.

This place has the potential to be great. It's a shame really, beautiful restaurant and brewery. Staff is knowledgeable, prompt and friendly. Sadly the cook isn't up to par. Fish Sandwich overcooked, prime rib dip also overcooked. Not just a little but a lot. The ambiance is fun and relaxed. I just had such high hopes.

If you are looking for a cute place for a dome session, brunch, rent out for special event.. you should definitely check out this cute space. We got the dome this time that is located on the top patio portion. It was super cute and spacious. The one we got had a table that could probably fit like 10 looks, our party had 6. There were two space heaters, wireless/Bluetooth speaker and cards to play games. We ordered drinks and several shareables (appetizers). The cheese curds and spinach and artichoke dip were my favorite. Cheese curds were squared shape and the biggest I've had. The dip was so flavorful. Highly recommended!

Red sauce pizza no garlic add shredded mozzarella

Stopped in after a bike ride on a Sunday afternoon. We love the one up in waunakee but it's kinda far for us so glad to have one here in Madison. The beer was delicious I had the Love train, great IPA it was so good I went for seconds. Same with the pizza so good we had to get another one. We just ordered the sauce pie with shredded mozzarella essentially a cheese pizza then we got the Sausage Thyme pizza to go both were excellent. I'm more of a red sauce gal which had visible chucks of tomato. Can't wait to go back and try more pizza and enjoy more delicious beers on tap. We sat on the patio and my toddler loved waving to the pedestrians and people watching. They had a couple tvs in the bar and some gambling machines including pull tabs. 5/5 recommend if you like pizza and beer!

    HushGuppies and Cole slaw

Fantastic spot for Friday fish fry! If you live in WI, then you've had your fair share of fish fry. This spot goes things a bit different and the quality shows. We had three kinds of fish and the breading is the star of each. The perch was my favorite since it's thin and super crispy due to the cornflake and panko crust. The fried haddock is quite thick and has a light and flavorful breading. A nice big piece of walleye comes with a crunchy pretzel crust. Despite the website touting the fish paired with orange instead of lemon, neither were present in my orders. Wasn't a huge fan of the hushguppies, as a I much prefer a traditional hushpuppy. Great service on the phone for taking orders and everything was ready to go when we arrived.

Such a treat to find this upscale brewery in a tiny town! We loved the rooftop patio and service was top notch The draft list has something for everyone. We especially liked the Anniversary Ale! Schweety and I shared the breakfast burrito. None was left on either of our plates!

St. Paddy's Lone Girl Edition was a delicious and festive time. Experienced my first green beer as I'm a whiskey gal, but figured I would try it out finally. The cheese curds were delicious as always. Now...the Irish nachos with tater tots would have been a even better crispier bottom. The bartenders that day did a bombtastic job. If you tend to be a solo eater like me, Lone girl is definitely the spot to meet new folks and if you're comfortable with it, share your appetizers !!

We have visited Madison several times from Chicago and had Lone Girl on our short list of breweries to visit...but we finally visited today. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! First: what a cute downtown the brewery is located within! We easily found parking and loved the pretty walk to the rooftop seating. And oh my gosh...what BEAUTIFUL outdoor seating for this time of COVID-19! The rooftop seating is breath-taking and so much fun! We were so excited from the moment we walked in! We were treated with kindness and warm welcoming from the moment we walked in! Our server was one of the highlights of the experience. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and informative! I'm kicking myself for not taking his name so I could mention him personally...but he was great! He personally helped me figure out the best possible flight (I loved all 6 beers!) and we walked away with a six-pack of the Harry's Coconut IPA because of his salesmanship AND the deliciousness of the beer! My spouse got a flight of 6 IPA's and he LOVED IT! I got 5 beers and I will list them from good to favorite: Baltic Porter, Hoop Hop Sour, Re-Boot IPA (tasted like VT Alchemist's Heady Topper), Harry's Coconut IPA (we got the six pack of this), and the Drunken Sap Maple Brown. They were all amazing, but the Drunken Sap was magical! For food, my spouse got the berry spin salad since he wasn't very hungry. He loved the flavors and substance of the salad and was very pleased. I got the BBQ Pork Smash sandwhich with a side salad and really enjoyed it! The Granny Smith apples and honey mustard with the bbq pulled pork was a perfect combo. I walked away very pleased. Plus the prices were great and there were TVs in the outdoor spaces if folks want to watch sports! What more could you want? While we are sad it has taken us this long to get out to Lone Girl, we are SO EXCITED that we finally made it! It will now be a staple of our Madison excursions! We look forward to many visits in the future AND enjoying our cams of Harry's Coconut IPA from home! So refreshing! Special thanks again to our server! You were the best!

Great Dane Pub has become one of my favorite spots in Madison for a variety of reasons from the drinks, vibes, service and community support! Situated on the corner of Doty and King in downtown Madison, Great Dane is a welcome sight for any visitor or local looking for a chill spot to have a solid drink, tasty bite and/or a good time! The pub is one large space, but it is separated into a few unique areas. One side is quintessential pub with a long bar, lots of dark woods, and a good sized dining room. The other is more of a pool hall vibe where you will find the other side of the bar, several pool tables, lots of TV's, high tops, darts, etc...We have bellied up to both sides of the bar and while I like both sides, I prefer the vibe of the pub side. They have a fairly extensive food menu with several bar/pub classics such as wings, nachos and burgers. But they also offer a good variety of sandwiches, bowls, salads, soups and even tacos. While we are normally here for the drinks, we do enjoy the cheese curds, wings and poutine! Speaking of drinks, they always have a great menu of house cocktails that is constantly updated for seasonality. I have had several iterations of cocktails and since I visit a few times a year, I always get to try new seasonal cocktails and beers! Service is always stellar here, no matter what side of the bar you are on. Welcoming, friendly and helpful...every time! Overall, I am an absolute fan of The Great Dane Pub!

It's the perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon -- good beer, friendly staff, and a laid-back vibe that's never too crowded. The space itself is great -- high ceilings, big windows that let in tons of natural light, and a nice open layout. The outdoor patio overlooking the pond is especially beautiful when the weather's nice. It's also dog-friendly, which we love! Our pup is always happy to come along, and we even picked up one of their dog toys from the merch area -- easily her new favorite. They've got some fun merch for humans too. The beer selection is solid, with something for everyone. We've really enjoyed the Lil Louie Lager and Badger Club Amber, and they always have a few rotating taps that keep things interesting. The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every time we've visited. If there's one area for improvement, it's the atmosphere. The space itself is awesome, but it sometimes feels like it's missing a little energy I'd love to see more events, live music, or themed nights to bring the place to life. It has so much potential to be a real community hub. Overall, Wisconsin Brewing Company is absolutely worth checking out great beer, great staff, and a beautiful, dog-friendly spot to unwind. With just a little more happening in the space, it could easily be a five-star destination.
