This review is no reflection of services, as I did not have any services performed-- I cancelled my appointment. I scheduled an appointment online for a men's cut for $25. The only reason I scheduled a men's cut is because I did not see a woman's cut only for $25 ( I was in the shop earlier that day and was told clipper cut would be $25, and to schedule appt online for Naomi). The online scheduling had a section to enter comments which I did stating that I wanted a clipper cut...that I wanted to keep my hair length, I just needed my afro shaped up. Well I received a text to confirm my upcoming appointment. I also received an email to confirm my upcoming appointment. I confirmed the appointment via text and then I almost decided not to confirm via email because I already confirmed through text, but I went ahead and confirmed the email. That is when I noticed that my appointment service was changed from a men's cut only to a women's cut with a blowout which is an additional service, which is more money. It would have been courteous if someone had contacted me via text, email or telephone letting me know the need to change the services, and why. I called the shop to see the reason for the service change which they gave me an explanation which was not acceptable because I gave detail when I scheduled the appointment online what services I wanted which was just a clipper cut. In the end, I decided to cancel appointment and to look for another shop. read more

This is the trashiest salon. They do a poor job, they overcharged for the quality of the work ($100 for child blow dry and flat iron-no product used), and they don't listen to their customers feedback. My child was crying in her chair. I have never had this happen anywhere else. I was so unhappy with our experience with Chelsea and brought it up to "owner" Tameka. And wow it gets worse. Tameka talks over, lies, and cheats her customers. Would not get my dog's hair cut here. You can see the pattern of Tameka's responses to unhappy clients. I wasted my time talking to her. January 1, 2021: Made appointment for my 8 year old daughter to get a bangs trim since it went a bit to her eyes and for a haircut for my 5 year old son after finding it near by to the salon I usually take them that I taught it was closed on New Year's Eve day. Was excited to find a salon that would take them last minute and had such great reviews. Worst mistake ever. The stylist said she would do the bang trimming first. My daughter has straight hair and she left the bangs in the front. She started cutting and it seemed like she knew she was doing so when she is done she says if it's fine and I said I feel like she has strands on one side choppy she said ok well let me even it out so she started cutting more. Then she asked me if it was better and it looked HORRIBLE I said one side was way shorter than the other. She continued to cut her other side and mid way it was getting too short. I said I think you need to stop cutting and told her that was horrible and now had to take her somewhere else to attempt her horrible job. It was extremely short on one side. She apologized and said she wouldn't charge me (not like I was going to pay for that botched job) and told her I was just going to take my kids else where and she said ok and that she was sorry. Had to take my kids to their old salon which was just closed for lunch and luckily they fit them in and their stylist evened my daughters bangs though extremely short. Never would go back and would only recommend people to NOT go there November 20,2024: I don't know how I never noticed the owner's response. Well ofc I was right next to my daughter since from the beginning she was doing a horrible job. Thank God I was next to her if not I can just imagine the job she would have done. My daughter moved a lot and you couldn't do the job? Then DON'T do it because yes I had trimmed my daughters bangs myself and it sill looked better than your "professional's" work. read more

I went yesterday and I asked how much the women's cut was and the receptionist said "$60 for short, $65 for long hair." I have long hair so I thought i would pay $65 plus tip. I was charged $115. Just like many people, I found this place through Groupon and decided to take a chance. The salon recently moved to a new location so be aware of that when traveling her. The place is spacious and you are offered coffee or water when arriving. Since I was using a Groupon, it was only valid with certain stylists and I ended up using Tiffany. I am so happy that I got paired up with her. First of all, her demeanor is so sweet and welcoming. Definitely put me at ease after a long day of work. I had brought photos of what I was looking for and I told her my concerns about how much length I wanted to take off since I had pretty long hair. What I really appreciated was that she checked in with me with how much she was cutting off. She initially cut off what I wanted but just double checked with me to make sure I was happy and I ended up going shorter and I loved it! Normally, I tell the stylist the amount I want cut off and they stick with it which isn't bad at all but Tiffany caught on my hesitation about how I wasn't too sure and gave me exactly what I wanted. The Groupon included a hydration treatment and a blowout. The hydration made my hair feel so silky and I got compliments on how shiny it looked. The salon does have some great specials throughout the week including the haircut, hydration treatment and blowout for $40 so I will be definitely taking advantage. I rarely write a less than one star review, but every time I feel my hair it just appalls me. BEWARE Kiana has bleached my roots twice and twice she missed a spot right in the front and Center of my head, not to mention she just could not understand that my previous color was an ash blonde she kept coloring my hair a brassy red blond. I had conversations with Kiana but would get nowhere. Kiana will do whatever she wants to with your hair without your input. This last time I gave her a last chance, Kiana, did my roots and left me with the bleach for One hour and 40 minutes to be exact, which is twice over the amount of time for processing. Kiana left me while she took other clients. I kept getting up to stretch due to my severe neck and back pain, which I made her aware of since my first visit. She didn't seem to care. Kiana weaved in my hair extensions first visit with a WHITE thread, next visit I asked her to please find a matching thread. I thought that she would take very good care not to get the bleach on my hair extensions they were brand new and very very healthy beautiful and thick. Ever since then, my extensions along with my hair are just this disgusting, slimy mess I can barely comb through them. I use so much product to be able to work through the knots all over every time I wash my hair. Infuriating. Too, since the first time, I tried to tell Kiana that she needs to match the color I had which was n ash blond, just couldn't or wouldn't do it. My roots and growth are a disgusting brassy red color and the rest of my hair is ash blonde. Mind you I spent quite the cash. Not worth it at all. I didn't want to leave this review but I think it would be very helpful to other women. I'm not sure if these are just some isolated incidents or if it will be something that Kiana practices discriminately. I feel much better now having taking this out of my system. read more

A few years ago my bestie showed up to a work happy hour with the most gorgeous hair. Usually it looked fried, long, rough, and like it hadn't seen a brush in a week. Her hair was the talk of hour. Her hair was still long (though clearly at least a foot had been cut off) and was sleek and soft. The new color was so pretty, and I was fueled with jealousy. She told me she'd found a Groupon for this place that offered a cut, color, and style for about $90. This doesn't happen. If you have long, thick hair you know you're going to charged an assload if you want dye or a cut. Every salon I know charges by length. Except the Look Salon. They stick to their base price no matter what. Well three years later and I'm still a convert. Tamika does a wonderful job. My hair always turns out a pretty shade and has never looked healthier. Thanks to her I can afford to hide the grays as quickly as they come. She runs a Tuesday special with cut, color, and style for $90. What I also like is she doesn't try to sale me on products I don't need, can't afford, and don't work. If I want product recommendations I have to ask about them. And lastly, her scalp massages feel amazing. I went in with a migraine last time, and she made the hurt go away while washing my hair. 100% recommend. read more

I just had my appointment here and I've literally never had a better haircut in my life! I hadn't gone to any other salons in Houston and was worried since I have curly frizzy hair. I came here based on the great reviews and prices and was super pleased! My stylist was Oralia who was super patient and helpful. I described to her what type of cut I wanted and she helped me tweak exactly to the style I was looking for. She was really methodical and spent a great deal of time both cutting my hair and styling it. I definitely recommend her and the other stylists in the salon who were super sweet and helpful as well! They offered me water and coffee several times and were extremely nice overall. I already told my friends and family to come and definitely will be back soon! read more

Received balayage by Elizabeth and it was one of the worst experiences EVER! Usually, a balayage service takes 6-8 hours on my hair. Elizabeth was finished in 3 hours, I was concerned. My hair was brassy, not the shade I wanted, and unnatural. She "fix it" which was better than the beginning. Now I'm quoted near $350-400 to fix the mess left by Elizabeth and this salon.
