We took the elevator ride up to the top of the Pyramid and decided to try the restaurant as it had nice atmosphere / views and the food that we saw being served looked pretty good! I'm glad we did, service was satisfactory and the meal(s) were good. Several had the ribs while others had the fish and chips. Turned out to be a very pleasant "unplanned" lunch!

Had a very good meal here. Gluten-free options were limited but I had a very tasty steak salad that hit the spot. View is beautiful. Our server was juggling a lot but was sharp witted and friendly, very likeable. Definitely worth a visit!

My experience at the Lookout was very pleasant. My server Anna was very attentive, courteous and helpful. The food was good too. I would come here again when in Memphis.

We order tomato and mozzarella salad, red fish, lamb chops. ALL very good and we eat out all over the world. Was it the best? No but very good? Yes. The service was fair. She didn't seem to want to be there but we didn't let it get us down. You need to setup your reservations via an APP. You can't call them in. We tried. What a PITA Again, sat away from the windows. (If you read my other reviews) We seem to get sat in the least desirable place in empty restaurants. Maybe I need a haircut??? The view is everything and it was spectacular!

First a warning, you have to pay the admission to ride to the top of the pyramid in order to dine at this restaurant (I didn't realize this when making my reservation). This restaurant is not for those afraid of heights. The elevator to the top is open so you can see out and once at the top you have the option to go out onto the balcony. For the food, I really liked my scallops and grits. The grits were made with Gouda and other cheese and they were savory and delicious. I also really enjoyed my limoncello cake for dessert and had some nice wine as well. The servers were helpful and it was over all a very fun experience. There is some really cool sculpture in the bar area and the views out the window make for a unique dining experience. The place is touristy but I think worth it.

Came back at sunset, parked in the big lot for free and walked into the Bass Pro Shop. We paid $8 and took the glass elevator up to the top floor. The views were incredible. There are green glass floors here and the sunset bridge is over the Mississippi River are fabulous.

The food is not good here- service was fine, waiter was nice. We ordered pimento cheese and grilled bread and jam. The bread was cold and tasted like standard sandwich bread and the onion jam is literally just marinated cold onions. I ordered the salmon dish, and the salmon and asparagus was good, but something definitely off with the flavor of the mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the chicken and it was swimming in a juice and grits were extremely 'gritty' and tasted like they'd just been microwaved in water. Paid $17 just to ride the elevator up to a meal that was subpar. Hopefully someone can improve the meals- particularly the sides.

The view is amazing along with the service. We were enjoying the view and decided to enjoy it a bit longer by getting some drinks and food. The drinks were lovely and definitely hit the spot along with a descent appetizer. I would say the food is average and a bit overpriced. The view and service make up for it though.

Great food , great service. My first lemon drop wasn't so good so I sent it back and ordered a Tom Collin's and it was good. Then the manager surprised me with a remade lemon drop on the house. Great experience. They make sure your have a good experience. I'll be returning. Oh the salmon is great with mashed potatoes and asparagus is. My husband has the red fish and it was phenomenal. Well seasoned and the sauce on top really was amazing with the crab meat.

Neat little stop in Memphis whether you're an outdoorsman or not! The two observation decks make for neat scenery and views of downtown Memphis. The river and bridges look great from the POV. Dining room is large offering both tables and a lot of bar seating. Bar tender was friendly and just tentative enough, food was tasty and served perfectly. Very cool setting so high up. Definitely a must see when passing through Memphis!

Came in here for the experience and it did not disappoint. If you are afraid of heights I don't recommend taking the elevator up here. The outlook is very beautiful and you get great pictures. It was a little windy when I went so if you're wearing a hat hold on to it. While you are at it enjoy a drink at the bar that has a pretty awesome large fish tank in the center. This is a once in a lifetime type visit so if you're in town, drop in for sure.

When visiting the pyramid in Memphis this is a nice side step to get in. At the top of the pyramid is a section that you have to pay to enter, but it is totally worth it. I will preface this with the fact that I only came here to go to the lookout and not eat at the Lookout. Basically locate the elevator in the middle of the building and approach. Buy yourself a ticket and all you have to do is wait for the elevator to take the long trip up/down the tower. When you exit the elevator at the top follow the signs to the observation decks and take in the view. It may take you a few minutes to adjust when you step out onto the platform as it is meant to be a glass floor. Some of the panels, however, may need a good cleaning so that you can see through the floor. One observation deck allows for you to see out over the city of Memphis. The other observation deck looks out over the Mississippi and feels more rural than urban in view. To go between the observation decks you have to walk through the restaurant. When you are done taking in the view, just head back to the elevator to go back down. It can be as long of an experience as you want to make it out to be.

Had to make the pilgrimage to the second largest pyramid in the US, which also happens to be the home of Bass Pro Shops and Ducks Unlimited. The store is absolutely massive also boasting a hotel and other activities as well. The highlight however, is The Lookout that has some of the best views of the Mississippi River and the Memphis skyline. I cannot recommend visiting The Lookout during sunset enough. The restaurant and bar were pretty big. Although we didn't have any food, the drinks were pretty good. We had their espresso martini which was unique as it used Skrewball (peanut butter whiskey). The price of the drinks were after you factored in the cost to go up the elevator too. If you're in Memphis and want a great view of the River, check out The Lookout!

What is the dress code for first Friday at the pyramid?

It's pretty casual, nothing too fancy, business casual

    What's the dress code?

There really isn't one but I have seen people dress 'nice' casual the most. Like jeans, tennis shoes, polos, nice dress, boots...etc

If I have a restaurant reservation, do I have to pay for the elevator ride?

Yes, you still have to pay for elevator ride.

    What is the dress code?

    Casual dresscode

Here's a clean, strong review that keeps your energy: Hands down one of the best spots in town. The beer selection is top-tier--something for everyone, whether you're into classics or trying something new. The food is next level, especially the fries... easily top 3 I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The atmosphere seals the deal: great music, high energy, and the fact that they're open until 3am is a game changer. Best part? The service is always on point. Staff is friendly, fast, and actually cares about the experience.

One of the Worst Customer Service Experiences I've Had After…read moreattending a Pride event and visiting from out of town, my friend and I stopped by Bar Dogs late at night/early in the morning on June 7th, hoping to grab some food before heading back to our hotel. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.
