My party was staying in the area for restful time in one of the 100's of private cabins available. We decided to head out for lunch at the restaurant inside the park. We've been eating there for over 10+ year and heard that it had been completely remodeled and under new ownership. What a beautiful restaurant remodel. We loved the huge back porch area that was overlooking the river that runs through the park. It was a beautiful day to dine al fresco. The newly revamped menu offers many options. I opted for the chicken fried steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. Other entrees in our party, a burger, and chicken sandwiches. We had a wonderful server who was very personable and welcoming. My chicken fried steak sandwich was good even with it being in the fryer a bit longer than it should have been. The rest of my party said their entrees were also very good. We had a great time dining, conversing and watch the river lazily flow by. The river in the park is very interesting, if you watch it carefully, you'll notice it changes flow when they open the flood gates. read more

We were in the area during the off-season. The staff was extremely friendly. We enjoyed our meal greatly. We came after dark, so I couldn't really see what the view looked like, but I am sure it was lovely. The place is very laid back. There is plenty of parking, and you do not have to pay the parking fee to park and eat there. The menu has beer and wine, but there was none available when we visited in December. I don't know if they were out or no longer served it. When we are back in the area we will come back. read more

Pretty decent food spot for being in a state park. This place also has a nice view of the river. It's a great lunch spot after hiking as they have numerous food options. Service was good. We went around 2pm on a Saturday. We ordered the crispy chicken ceasar wrap which was pretty good along with the Mac n cheese which I do not recommend. It was extremely watery. Terrible experience. Jeremiah the manager had a bad attitude the minute he heard we were a party of 11. Server was ready to seat us but he said 30/45 minutes hoping we wouldn't wait. Long story short we were sat 5 minutes later, ordered coffee and left. The two other tables around us were complaining that their food was cold and the service was awful. Breakfast buffet is just "ok". But you would think with a buffet you could get what you wanted and be on your way. But no! If you need condiments or utensils you have to flag down a waiter. The wait staff is understaffed. The restaurant needs a manager with restaurant experience. Lunch was a whole other issue. Ordered from the menu and it took nearly 2 hours to get our food. The restaurant was about 1/2 full but again, understaffed! We've been coming to Beavers Bend for over 40 years. The restaurant has always been a tradition to walk to breakfast and plan our day. It has the best view in the park. It really needs to be improved. Kind of like the cabins! But that is a whole different kind of review! Chicken fried steak sandwich isn't the best but it's okay. Okra is amazing, mashed potatoes are good with gravy, the fruit is amazing and fresh, the BLT sandwich was amazing. The service from the waitress we had wasn't that great it seemed she was just having a stressful or off day but the other waitresses were good. The view there is amazing. Scratch kitchen in a state park setting! Food was so fantastic. The service was even better. Ambience is delightful--the restaurant sits at the bank of the river. We started with the mozzie sticks and they simply were the best I've ever had. They make their own. Rolled in buttermilk and flour 3x before the panko breading. Fried to perfection. The marinara was so flavorful. We had burgers and fries. Their make their own fresh patties. Nothing is frozen or premade. The bun was soft and grilled to perfection. The cheeses were melty. The sauces were delicious. What a great burger. This will rival any burger house across America. They are even ready to Beat Bobby Flay! The customer service was awesome. That is why I am saddened to leave this review. We ordered a small pepperoni pizza and a buffalo chicken salad with extra ranch dressing. I ordered take out and brought the food back to where we were staying. The buffalo chicken salad had all the makings to be good. But it lacked flare and visual appeal. The chicken was not even tossed in the buffalo sauce. It was lazily placed on top of the salad. This means the bottom it was sitting on was soggy. Yuck! The salad was awkwardly put together and NO ranch dressing to be found. The pizza was 100% a frozen pizza that you could pick up at any supermarket. So it was very underwhelming. Save yourself $43 mixed with disappointment and eat somewhere else. read more

We came here for Easter weekend 2025. Two adults and one dog, we got sat at the patio, which we were expecting for having our furry friend with us. However, three different parties got sat after us. Two of which also had dogs. All three of these parties got their drinks before us, and started to get their orders taken before us. One server at least brought water to our dog, thus the one star im giving this place. After waiting for about 30 minutes we just decided to get up and leave. Went here with my family on a Sunday evening. The view from the patio and outside is amazing and very scenic. Really wanted to like this restaurant more that but was about all it had going for it. The food was not very good and all six of us ordered different things. It was obvious with some of the food it was frozen before or straight from a can. read more

Had a great time here in 2023, but it seems they've changed management and it shows. Went today and was thoroughly disappointed. Waited 10-15 mins for a table (party of 15). Just needed something simple to eat. Waited another 20-25 mins after being seated. Never even saw a waiter/waitress in that time. Only about a quarter of the tables were in use. We finally gave up and left. Got the impression they didn't mind losing out on a well-paying order. They were probably just relieved they didn't have to put in the work. And based on other reviews, it sounds like we didn't miss much. Shame because it's in a great spot within the state park. Hopefully they do better at some point. read more

Tour was fine, but was upset by the rules.... Was told you could not take your own food/ snacks on the boat...had to purchase them from their store before the tour. However, a large group was aloud to bring their own water and snack on the tour. They were stopped and told not to but then aloud. Not cool, I had to pay $8 for 3 waters yet they were aloud to bring all they wanted on board. If you have rules, live by them! read more

Extremely disappointed in this place! We were hoping to have a great experience here, but it ended up being a nightmare. We should have been told beforehand that the wait would turn into over 40 minutes from the beginning, so we could have decided for ourselves to stay or leave, or they should have closed the doors. That is no way of running a business!! We won't be back for sure!!!!! After complaining about the extremely long wait time, we were informed that it would still be another 10 to 15 minutes more maybe. Finally, some greasy mozzarella sticks came out, and then 10 minutes later, the food came out. It was cold, greasy, and disgusting, looking like what should have been thrown out days ago. The fish basket was a joke: 2" nuggets, half-coated and half-naked, undercooked with a bunch of cold, greasy fries, even though I asked for mashed potatoes. The BLT was greasy, hard, and soggy, cold fries, and the burger was another flop, just like the rest of the food, and the chicken tender basket wasn't suitable for animals. The disgusting food made one of us sick, which was the burger, the fish basket, and the BLT were all sent back and asked to be removed from the check. They didn't have any soft drinks, but Dr Pepper and water. They were out of BBQ. I'm not sure why this restaurant is still open, but I wish they would just close and let someone else operate there. We were in town for a weekend business trip. The service was okay, but the food came out cold. We sent our appetizer back and it came out cold the second time too, we just picked at it not wanting to send it back again. Our meals were mediocre. The spaghetti was flavorful but also cold, way more sauce than noodles and for the meatballs to be $6, they were not hot at all. My fiancé got the chicken tenders with two sides, both of his sides were cold so he sent the mashed potatoes back but ate the okra. The potatoes tasted like instant ones they put in the microwave. Expensive for what you get, the food wasn't great. We probably won't be back. Maybe when they're busier it's good but I can't recommend going on a Lazy Sunday afternoon.
