Special thanks and shout out to Johnas my account rep for getting us pregame access on the field today! We got the chance to walk on the sidelines and see some players warm up including Cooper Kupp, Puka Nucua, and Matthew Stafford. Also got to meet world renowned saxophonist Mike Phillips and listen to his sound check for the National Anthem.

I've checked into Sofi many times but this is the first time I noticed the LA Rams check in, so I'm writing this review not of the team itself but of the organization that occupies the SoFi space. Since I haven't been to a Chargers game, I don't have anything to compare it to. I've been attending games since SoFi opened and there have been many improvements. One being the transportation especially since I have been unable to pre-purchase the parking after the first season. Perhaps, the tailgaters have first dibs? Its slways sold out by the time I'm in queue. The parking cost per game is exorbitant, so I dont mind that I found it much more convenient and economical to take the bus. I have tried the train once and in the last few blocks surrounding the stadium, private residences in The Wood have taken the entrepreneurial step to sell parking spaces if you're willing to walk. Security at the stadium is responsive and takes action, but you do need to contact them due to the sheer enormity of SoFi. At first glance when you look around and across the stadium, it's breath-taking but as in everything great, we tend to take it all for granted over time, especially if you've attended many games and concerts. The colossal-sized screen offers additional entertainment and nice sharp close-ups, even in the nose bleeds. I've seen only one fight and that was between a husband and wife. LOL. But other potential altercations can be mitigated if we take into consideration that most,if not all, are caused by inebriated fans either intentionally our unintentionally sitting in the wrong seat. No bueno! Overall, it's a great time with food menu choices improved since the first season. The menu reflects LA's diversity in food choices. Of course, before and after the game, you can indulge in dirty dogs from the carts and alcohol which are much cheaper. Also, there's a little something for everyone with the LGBTQ representation in the cheer squad, the Mariachi band to sing along with, the metal guitar chick to rock out to, celebrity sightings and amazing half time shows. If you are visiting LA, definitely check out SoFi stadium!

The amount that I love the Rams is abnormal and not healthy. Puka and Kyren are our future, Cooper Kupp is the GOAT, Aaron Donald is our anchor of it all with so much young talent, all under the watchful eye of veteran Stafford and the best coach in the league, or as my lovely OC OCA Buddy calls him - a 'snack'. I moved to LA from Chicago in 2020, and just started watching football in 2019 and instantly falling in love with the Rams on a LA Vacation that year. This is my team. I'm a season ticket holder for the next sixty years or so, let's go!!!

Congratulations to fifth-year head coach Sean McVay, veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, stud wide receiver Cooper Kupp, eight-time Pro-Bowler Aaron Donald, and the rest of the Los Angeles Rams for winning Super Bowl LVI this year (2022). They played an entertaining game against the Cincinnati Bengals. I rooted for the Bengals because they had four players who played high school football in my hometown area in North Carolina and I generally like pulling for underdogs. Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt went to my high school. The Bengals were 4.5-point dogs entering the game. As usual, the folks who set the lines in Vegas were good because the final score was Rams 23, Bengals 20. It was a game that came down to the wire. In the final minutes of the 4th quarter, both the Rams offense and the Rams defense would not be denied. Stafford, Kupp, and Donald all made big plays down the stretch to earn the Rams their second Super Bowl title. Unfortunately, Joe Burrow, Eli Apple (the corner who covered Kupp on the championship-winning touchdown), and company came up short. The good news for Burrow is he's only 25 years old. Stafford had just turned 34. As I wrote in my review for the Detroit Lions on January 2, 2022 (https://www.yelp.com/biz/detroit-lions-detroit), up to that point, Stafford had yet to win an NFL playoff game in his 13-year NFL career. Then, he rattled off four straight postseason wins starting on January 17th in an NFC Wild Card game against the Arizona Cardinals. After 12 long years in Detroit, Stafford was traded to LA last year (2021). The rest is history. The Rams only went 12-5 in the regular season. Stafford started every game, regular season and postseason. Also as I had written in my review for the Lions, I was familiar with Stafford before his pro football days because he played collegiately at Georgia. Georgia, coincidentally, just won the College Football Playoff National Championship. Stafford played three years at Georgia (2006-2008) for coach Mark Richt before turning pro. Stafford spent the better part of his career throwing touchdown passes to my favorite football player of all time, Georgia Tech and Detroit Lions legend Calvin Johnson. In LA, Stafford's top receiver has been Cooper Kupp. I had Kupp on one of my fantasy football teams this past season (2021) when he had the best year of his career. In 2021, Kupp led the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and receiving touchdowns (16). He was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year and the Super Bowl MVP. When the Rams were down 20-16 with only 1:29 left in the game, Kupp caught an 11-yard touchdown pass with Eli Apple defending him: https://youtu.be/LYP91oVyUuU?t=110. The play was clutch. As for Apple, James Dator of SB Nation explained why Apple "became the laughing stock of the NFL:" https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2022/2/17/22939174/eli-apple-jokes-nfl-ravens-chiefs-super-bowl-cooper-kupp. Sean McVay has done well in five short years as the head coach of #RamsHouse. Since his first season in 2017, the Rams have qualified for the playoffs four out of five years. In his first year, he was named NFL Coach of the Year. This year, he became the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl at 36. McVay, a former quarterback, played high school football in Atlanta and won Georgia Offensive Player of the Year over Calvin Johnson. The Rams' other Super Bowl championship came at Super Bowl XXXIV in January 2000 (1999 season). That game was played in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. At that time, the team was the St. Louis Rams. The Rams beat the Tennessee Titans, 23-16, and Kurt Warner was the MVP. Of the Rams' two Super Bowl wins, the 2000 Super Bowl is considered one of the best Super Bowl games in history and the 2022 Super Bowl had the second-highest TV ratings all-time. My wife and I enjoyed this year's halftime show even though Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige are getting up there in age: https://youtu.be/gdsUKphmB3Y. My favorite commercial was the Chevy / Sopranos ad: https://youtu.be/2bZYqFsU72Y.

The stadium is visually breathtaking. 80k people crammed into a stadium is wild itself. Pretty fun exterior and then design of the stadium is truly amazing. I will say it was kind of a weird layout finding our seats and some weird alleys we had to go down to get to it that just felt super backstage-ish even though we were definitely in the non-employee areas. Also once we were in our section we couldn't really get up and walk around to check out the stadium we had to go though a bunch of different areas so get out and explore a bit. But the field and everything else looks fantastic. Also the only cash-less stadium in terms of getting food and drinks!

LA's team and world champions! The off season training is going to make LA next years team to beat. Can't wait for the season to start again! Go Rams!

If you take the MTA, it's $1.75 per trip or $3.50 round-trip in total VS paying $50-100 to park and sitting in traffic.

The Los Angeles Rams are back in 2016 for the NFL season! The 1st 2 pre-season home games were highlighted by off-the-field news of 1) The outrageous parking fees; 2) the knuckle-head fans fighting in the stands; and 3) a general lack of security on-site. So, they need to stave off and resolve this not so fan or family friendly image. I went to The LA Rams VS The KC Chiefs, and sat in the upper deck, aka the nosebleed seats, and can say, almost every seat in the place had a good view of the field. Oddly, the more expensive seats down below was where I witnessed a fight, the one that's been in the news captured on video. It took way too long for security to diffuse the situation as a witness to the chaos of the hooligans. My friend was a bit reluctant to take his son to the game, 'thus my free ticket, for the very reason of it being a sketchy environment by recent reputation and perception. I'll say this, it was fairly safe feeling in general. What you'll see and find are a lot of diverse fans, some old, many young, and mixed ethnicities. If you're going to profile the potential troublemakers or a problem environment you just need to be aware of your surroundings. If you're near fans that: A) comprise of both home team and visitor fans wearing jerseys; B) are drinking heavily before the game even starts; C) are cussing with passionate profanity ; D) has tattoos or looks gang related; and/or E) are part of a certain ethnic (and that does not mean minority either!) groups (sorry about racial profiling, but there is always a little truth in stereotypes when you're playing the odds - and I'm not naming names here so your assumption to what group I'm referring to is your own prejudice :) - - food for thought), then you might want to be a little bit on guard. Here's tips on how to avoid an incident: If someone bumps into you and it's their fault or if it's yours, simply apologize, and don't give attitude, right or wrong to create or escalate a situation. Don't make eye contact where you're staring. Don't oogle at guys wives, daughters or girlfriends. Don't wear team colors like a jersey or face paint nor bring obnoxious signs, a simple T-Shirt or Hat with logo is good enough. Cheer for your team but don't condemn their opponents. The RAMS are in a good poor division in the NFC West in 2016. They may make the playoffs. The 49ers are horrible right now, and can't seem to rebuild. The Seahawks lost their key offense in RB Lynch, 'tho are improving their passing game. The Cardinals are aged with Palmer and Fitzgerald and prone to injuries. The Rams have good depth at the WR position, one of the top young RB's in Gurley, solid above average defense, and all they need is their QB to sync up with the offense and they can even possibly go to the Super Bowl this year or within the next decade. We took the MTA /Metro public transit for $1.75 each way to avoid paying $50-100 to park a car all while sitting in traffic gridlock coming in and going out. That's a smart convenient and economical decision. The food concessions at the games are good with a lot of diverse choices to eat, more so than most sports arenas, it almost feels like a county fair or street festival with so many vendors. The prices are a bit high, but that's expected to pay 2x to 3x the price you'd pay outside in the real world within any sporting event, similar to concerts, fairs, etc. A beer costs $10 for a cup and $15 if it's a craft beer. My recommendation to solve the expensive cost of security issue and that of the fan fights that may be alcohol fueled is to raise the price of beer to $20 per cup, and use the differential in proceeds to pay for professional security. The higher cost of alcohol may limit the consumption, but the profit margins remain robust and some of the issues related to drinking may be reduced. This * * * three star "a-okay" rating can easily improve with a new stadium and better fan experience off the field to instill confidence it can be a fan and family friendly environment. With the ticket prices where they're at, there needs to be that added value of assurance of having a good (and safe) time whether the team wins or loses.

Harry Potter + An Immersive Movie?! Accio Better Seats!…read more Our FIRST time experiencing an immersive movie like this, and of course... being the huge Harry Potter fan that I am, I couldn't pass up the opportunity! So what did I do? Asked hubby to call off work with me because apparently Monday morning Harry Potter takes priority. This was totally last-minute, so lesson learned: BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY! I'll explain why... Parking: COSM is conveniently next to Parking Structure 3, where you can get your parking validated for 4 hours, which was honestly a huge plus! Plenty of parking, and the building itself is super open and spacious. It definitely gives me SoFi Stadium vibes when you first walk in. Harry Potter Popcorn -- $18 | TBD/10 Of course they had the themed popcorn buckets representing Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Because apparently regular popcorn just isn't magical enough. Didn't purchase bc I had my eyes on the Enchanted Menu. Seating -- 2/5 Now HERE is where my last-minute booking hurt me. We ended up in Section H, top left corner 3rd floor, and WOW... they really stuffed every possible seat into that section. The seats were literally touching each other! Luckily, there were three empty seats next to us, so we were able to spread out a little and regain some personal space, legs up and all. On top of that, there was quite a bit of bright lighting coming in from the entrance behind our section, which became pretty distracting during the film. So next time? I'm absolutely booking earlier and getting seats right in the middle. I can already tell the experience would be SO much better from there. Enchanted Experience -- $40 | 7/10 This came with: House-Made Shepherd's Pie Bottled Butterbeer (ran OUT and not enough stocked-- was able to replace with an alcoholic drink) Pretzel Wand & Cheese Dip Chocolate Frog Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans The fun part is that each item comes out during the movie to make the experience more interactive. And honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the Shepherd's Pie! It actually wasn't bad at all. It had bits of beef, a nice layer of mashed potatoes, and just the right amount of seasoning, along with potatoes and carrot filling. And of course, getting food delivered throughout the movie definitely added to the whole immersive experience. Our server Allie was also super kind and friendly, so shoutout to her for making the experience even better! Overall Experience -- 7/10 As a first-time experience, I actually really enjoyed it! The concept is super fun, especially if you're a Harry Potter fan. The immersive effects, food coming out during the movie, themed atmosphere, and giant screen definitely make it feel like more than just sitting in a movie theater. My biggest regret was honestly booking last minute. The seating situation definitely took away from some of the magic, but now I know better! Next time, I'm booking early, sitting smack dab in the middle, and letting myself experience the full COSM magic. Would I come back? Absolutely--if it's a movie worth seeing again! And considering I made hubby call off work for this one... I'd say Harry Potter was definitely worth the PTO. Happy watching!

Finally made it to see Harry Potter. It was fun and a new experience, but is it just me or is the…read moreseating really uncomfortable? We googled what seats were the best and booked based on what Google said, but due to the curves in the end seat, we could not get comfortable without literally leaning/sitting on the other person. Also my neck was killing me towards the end. The tickets were nearly 90 each, and then we ended spending another $130ish on food. Luckily, parking was free for the first 4 hours. Overall, it was a cool experience but doubt I would go back unless I really had a reason to.

The sound system and wireless mic had issues when it was Lionel Richie's performance. They fixed it after a period of using wired mic. The Earth Wind and Fire concert was fine...very high.... I only watched about half of Lionel Richie's performance. Because I was tired, and wanted to beat the tariff rush. I also went to look for Dan, the usher supervisor and Tiffany, one of the ushers. Did not find anyone. Went home. Got a T shirt for $5. Tip: the shirt has date on it. It is unsoldable after the day of the concert. They can still make money at $5, simply not much, but that is better than nothing. Now the parking...the cheapest parking is at Hollywood Park Casino at about $35. All the other parking is about $50.00 and up. I pay $62 for a parking space on Century Blvd. To my surprise it was a strip mall parking lot. A company rented one of the unit and then started to charge for parking for events at Intuit Dome. They do not own the property. There was not even an attendant. I guess they did not sold enough passes to justify hiring an attendant. At the site there is a QR code, which charges $50.00 for six hours of parking. The only worry is if they tow our car, so it is better to pay the $50.00. Towing and getting the car back can cost $300.00 and up. I had my rental car towed in Boston. It ended costing me $300.00. It SUCKS. Conclusion: everything was ok except the parking which costed me a lot of stress. Other than that the concert was enjoyable. The night average out to be a three stars experience. Ray out.
