Second time in Escalante and staying here and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. You can tell the owners take great pride in running this place, and have so many personal touches all over the place like q-tips in each medicine cabinet and filtered water in the lobby. I have two favorite parts, one is their breakfast. OMG!! It puts all other complimentary hotel breakfasts to shame!Homemade bread and jams, dairy free creamer and fresh fruit. Second is their adorable cat Moki! She loves to personally greet each guest and walk them to their rooms. Don't hesitate to book this place when you come to Escalante, you won't regret it.

It's a quiet town, but still earplugs were provided in the medicine cabinet as well as other helpful items just in case!

I had the Single king room which was nicely furnished with lots of nice touches and perfect for my needs. The king size bed had a nice firm mattress but the pillows were kind of soft and didn't provide a lot of support. The tv was a connected to an antenna so there was only a limited amount of channels and sometimes the reception was spotty. But since the purpose in visiting Escalante is to get out and enjoy all the wonderful hikes and drives available this was no problem. The room has a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee/tea area with fresh ground coffee available. It would have been nice to have a small office chair so I could set up my laptop on the desk. The bathroom has lots of towels and a nice shower. The room has a back door that leads to a seating area in the back with a nice view of the mountains. The front of the rooms has a firepit and a grill and a nice seating area as well. The lobby closes at 6pm but the owners are available by phone to text or call. They are wonderful hosts. I had the pleasure of talking to and getting to know Terry and Wendy when I had a waffle for breakfast. They do not offer a free breakfast but they do have a small restaurant that sells incredible Belgian waffles and wonderful fresh ground coffee. The next time I am in Escalante I will definitely stay here again.

We snagged the last room available for our brief stay in Escalante (see my other reviews) - a two queen bed "room". I put quotes around that, because our lodging was more like a mini suite. It came with extremely comfortable beds, a kitchen and dining table with dishes and settings for four, a really nice toilet, shower, and dressing room, and a back patio looking out over the beautiful mesa to the north of town. Check-in was a breeze, with plenty of communication in advance and on the day before arrival. It's set up to be no contact, but Terry stopped by after we arrived just to be sure we had everything we needed. The Lodge provides complimentary laundry facilities, wonderful architecture and decor, Tesla charging ports, snacks, terrific coffee, and on and on. WiFi was fast and simple. In addition, our room had a European-style "key card enable" by the door; with the key out, the lights and most outlets go off (not the refrigerator). With the key inserted, everything comes on. Terry and Wendy have worked very hard to anticipate and accommodate every possible need.

The young woman at the office was super friendly and helpful in getting us settled. Although they don't have a dedicated RV dump station, she said it was fine to use the water and sewer hookups from any of the unoccupied RV sites. An added bonus was having not one, but two food trucks on site, as well as a coffeehouse in the lobby. Our cabin was very comfortable too. Highly recommend!

We would have been so grateful for just bare bones accommodations, but what we found was so much more awesome! Lynn was so welcoming and extremely helpful with places to eat, etc. The cabin had everything you could need and was clean and secure and also just a darling experience. The whole place is so gosh dang cute. Bed was comfy and clean. Fire pit outside is an awesome addition even though we couldn't use it due to fire restrictions. Free drip coffee in the morning was so good that I didn't even want a latte - though they do have a full service espresso bar available on site! You'll also find cute postcards, tumbled rocks, maps of the area, local geological facts and stuff. You can hang out in the reception/coffee area, which had seating and outlets. They have laundry downstairs (we didn't check it out though). And the whole property has free wifi! There are SO many amenities here for dogs as well!! I wish we had ours, but they hate going on the road, so we didn't get to take advantage of the dog park, wash station, or in-room pet blankets. On top of their cabins/casita, they also have tent sites and RV and van sites. One of the absolute best stops we've ever made on the road! Don't forget to hang out with Debbie (meow).

My bad experience at this motel came before we checked in…read more I booked 4 nights through Hotels.com. I needed to change it to 2 nights, and Hotels.com said I had to cancel and rebook (I'm sure this is a Hotels.com problem, not their fault). When I canceled, Cowboy Country Inn had already charged me for one night (it was charged when I booked). The cancellation policy says you can cancel without penalty up until a certain date and I hadn't hit that date so I figured it wouldn't be a problem. Boy was I wrong. I spent a month trying to get a refund. According to Hotels.com, Cowboy Country Inn was the one who charged me and therefore they couldn't refund me. They told me I had to contact the motel. Unfortunately, this motel doesn't answer the phone. I tried many times. After a lot of fighting, I finally got Hotels.com to make an exception and refund me themselves. While I'm glad I didn't have to pay extra, the motel still stole money for service they didn't provide, so I can't give them a good review. We still stayed here for two nights (I wasn't going to try to get refunded a second time). We had no major problems once we got there. The WiFi didn't work when we arrived, but they resolved it quickly. I wish there was a way to get ice there. They make you go to the gas station and you have to pay if you need it more than once. Based on the fact that they don't refund people according to their policy, I wouldn't stay here again.
