Circle D Motel is the only dog-friendly hotel in the area, so it's always our first choice. Rates are fairly priced and we can usually fit four people in one room plus our dogs, so it's a great deal when split with friends. They offer free wireless WiFi in all rooms, and all are non-smoking. All rooms come with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and hair dryer. Location is great - Circle D is centrally located in town so you can walk everywhere. It's only 10 minutes from Hole in the Rock Road, 15 minutes to reach Death Hollow Wilderness, and 5 minutes from GSENM. I had the Single king room which was nicely furnished with lots of nice touches and perfect for my needs. The king size bed had a nice firm mattress but the pillows were kind of soft and didn't provide a lot of support. The tv was a connected to an antenna so there was only a limited amount of channels and sometimes the reception was spotty. But since the purpose in visiting Escalante is to get out and enjoy all the wonderful hikes and drives available this was no problem. The room has a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee/tea area with fresh ground coffee available. It would have been nice to have a small office chair so I could set up my laptop on the desk. The bathroom has lots of towels and a nice shower. The room has a back door that leads to a seating area in the back with a nice view of the mountains. The front of the rooms has a firepit and a grill and a nice seating area as well. The lobby closes at 6pm but the owners are available by phone to text or call. They are wonderful hosts. I had the pleasure of talking to and getting to know Terry and Wendy when I had a waffle for breakfast. They do not offer a free breakfast but they do have a small restaurant that sells incredible Belgian waffles and wonderful fresh ground coffee. The next time I am in Escalante I will definitely stay here again.

Nice toilet paper and tissues - not the thin stuff you'd normally find in a hotel. They had all kinds of toiletries such as band aids, room spray, q-tips, dental floss (individually wrapped), ear plugs, and eye masks. They also had a jar of snacks available, cups, plates, bowls, and silverware if you were eating any food. There was a roll of paper towels available and also a few packets of instant oatmeal and a variety of teas to make. Some of the rooms are pet friendly and they had a blanket, pet bowls, and treats available. They also had a note that they would arrange to let your pet out mid-day if needed while you were out for the day. There were also grills available if you wanted to grill. The blinds were also great for blocking out light if you want to sleep in a bit.

We were originally planning an RV trip, but work got in the way. Staying here felt like an RV adventure without all the hassle. We stayed in one of the Airstreams, which had full hookups, a split AC unit, a sink, and a mini fridge. There wasn't a restroom inside, but the nearby bathhouse was spotless and honestly felt like a spa. The property itself was amazing. There's a great lounge area, delicious food from the onsite food truck, and an incredibly friendly staff. The drive-in movie theater with classic cars was such a cool touch. Brownie and Max absolutely loved their stay. Ofland Escalante is located east of Bryce, and the remote setting meant some of the best stargazing I've ever experienced. I could even see the haze of the Milky Way. Each Airstream site has its own fire pit, and they provide one complimentary bundle of wood. We ended up buying more because we loved sitting under the stars so much. Max, being a city boy, preferred relaxing inside the Airstream with the AC, while Brownie, who was always a lap dog, stayed curled up with us outside by the fire the entire time. We visited during their opening weekend in March, so it was peaceful, not overcrowded, and there were barely any bugs. I'll always have a special fondness for this place because it was our last camping and road trip with Brownie, who passed away this past Sunday after years of fighting congenital heart failure. Thank you to the entire Ofland Escalante team for giving us such a meaningful memory. One of the few things on Instagram that look better in person.

It was our favorite place with a great property and a killer location! The staff are great, the property itself is huge with a communal area, easy access to ice/water/coffee etc. There are plenty of chairs, couches and firepits to share. The drive-in is as great as advertised but some of the cars are a little bit uncomfortable (just get there early!). The unit itself was cozy with a huge bathroom and outdoor shower. Even in the cold evening air, the hot shower was amazing! Its also very close to Bryce and several other hikes plus they provide you with a lot of information about the surrounding area so you can plan your own adventure! We can't wait to go back! Also Dog Friendly!!

My bad experience at this motel came before we checked in…read more I booked 4 nights through Hotels.com. I needed to change it to 2 nights, and Hotels.com said I had to cancel and rebook (I'm sure this is a Hotels.com problem, not their fault). When I canceled, Cowboy Country Inn had already charged me for one night (it was charged when I booked). The cancellation policy says you can cancel without penalty up until a certain date and I hadn't hit that date so I figured it wouldn't be a problem. Boy was I wrong. I spent a month trying to get a refund. According to Hotels.com, Cowboy Country Inn was the one who charged me and therefore they couldn't refund me. They told me I had to contact the motel. Unfortunately, this motel doesn't answer the phone. I tried many times. After a lot of fighting, I finally got Hotels.com to make an exception and refund me themselves. While I'm glad I didn't have to pay extra, the motel still stole money for service they didn't provide, so I can't give them a good review. We still stayed here for two nights (I wasn't going to try to get refunded a second time). We had no major problems once we got there. The WiFi didn't work when we arrived, but they resolved it quickly. I wish there was a way to get ice there. They make you go to the gas station and you have to pay if you need it more than once. Based on the fact that they don't refund people according to their policy, I wouldn't stay here again.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Ethan is a very attentive, professional and kind young man who helped us with anything we needed. We hope we are luck enough to find an available room at this motel next time we are in the area. HIGHLY recommend!

Left for the day and came back to a different code to get in.1st change. No service on room. Not even trash taken out. 2nd change. No front office personnel. Just a phone no dial direct to a call center. Call center mentioned that check out was at three. We had the room for 2 days. Never before was expected to check out in middle of a stay. 2 individuals on site Tall guy with glasses brandishing a 6 ft staff behind counter. Thought he was a homeless guy but he had access to room behind counter and was presenting himself as some sort of employee. Asked if he was or ever had been an employee and he said no. Then said he was some sort of consultant and he lived there. Inquired if place had new management and he laughed and rolled his eyes. Asked and complained about lack of service and he directed me to above mentioned phone. 2nd individual told me directly they do not service rooms anymore until one has been there 4 days, We should have left and just re booked to get a new room. Not an issue if you stay only one day. Whatever these guys were they were not helpful at all. Then when we finally left I called to express my dismay at the service quality and got a message to call back during normal business hrs. No permits or licenses on lobby wall so had to research who the new owners were. This was not anywhere even close to what I was expecting. Heaven help you if you have a room issue anytime outside of call center hrs. And if you book for more than one day you will have to empty your garbage cans if full and if you need any supplies you are expected to find it in the lobby and restock yourself. On our way out of Escalante it was past nine so we pulled in to make that call. The Big guy with his club was outside and when he noticed me on the phone he came in with his club and stood about three feet from me so he could listen in to the phone call. For the record the people on the other end were dismissive and could not have cared less. End of story.
