They roll around little carts, almost dim sum style, with fun bites and drinks like mini cocktail drinks like an espresso martini, oysters, tacos, and desserts. I wanted to like this place given the decor, reviews, and we came to celebrate! Maybe my friends and I went on an off night but I didn't have the best experience. The staff were quite slow. We were asked if we had any questions, but before we could respond, our server walked away. The place was empty when we came, though we didn't get utensils and had to hunt down someone to request some after getting food. Upon clearing our dishes, the waiters mucus or spit had dropped from their face onto our table. He was sick, which I understand you can't help, but staying home is ok when you're sick. The portion sizes are quite small so definitely don't go hungry and I recommend eating first. Mainly go here for drinks. There are still good things - the highlight was the flavor of the food! Shoestring Fries: So crispy and nicely seasoned!! Honestly I could have ate just these all night. Brisket Skewer: Garlicky Smoky Well seasoned Tender Just wish there was more! Each skewer was maybe 2 inches :( Empanada: Nice seasoning with a generous amount of filling. Tender! Pickled onions were such a great add and complimented nicely. The shell was a bit too crispy? If you enjoy G-love be sure to check out their sister restaurant! It has a similar concept to their next door restaurant but has a more simplified menu to enjoy. We didn't come with a reservation but were able to get seated immediately at one of their outdoor tables with heaters. I was checking out their menu ahead of time but it seems they may rotate it so be sure to check it out before you come if you're looking for something specific. On the menu we had they also had some drinks that they were going to give a portion to for a local charity. The menu is smaller and meant to be shared so we almost ordered a majority of the menu. haha + Oysters + Royal Shack burger + Fries + Mushroom skewer + Chips & dip + Ilocos empanaga + Brown Butter Delica My favorites were definitely the empanada, mushroom skewer, and squash. The interior of this spot is cutie! It's tiny, moody, and a complete vibe. It's like an upscale tiki bar. Outdoors has a little less to be desired but there was a heater and service was just as attentive. We had the ultimate girl dinner. Started with a dozen oysters, that were perfectly paired with lemon, tabasco, and their greek mignonette. 12 oysters will run ya around $50. The little gem wedge salad was tasty! The miso-caesar and blue cheese crumble is a match made in heaven. Lastly, the flight of fries was fun. The different textures of fries and the assortment of dips makes it a great shareable item. The spicy calabrian aioli is next level. Now...the cocktails!! They have a pretty elaborate cocktail menu featuring a wide range of house cocktails, the classics, and a good about of N/A proof options. We absolutely loved the "eyes without a face". It's a vodka based drink with ginger, thai chili, lychee, lemongrass and lime. We ended up ordering 2 rounds! House cocktails run from $17 - $22 - pretty average in the bay area so it didn't bug me. I love love shack, I've gone there numerous times now. When they first opened, the food portions were really small and I was sort of annoyed. They've really honed in on their menu now though, and I like the options a lot more. They have happy hour the first and last hour of service. The place is small so reservations are recommended. The crusty avocado with ahi is really good. The dip with roe is really good. The ribeye skewers are good. They have non alcoholic options too, which is perfect. The service is always great. The "press button" door they have to be able to move their drink carts and food out of the kitchen is convenient but the constant use of it (which it makes sense!!) bothered me haha I'm sensitive to repetitive noise. Also, the cold air from behind the door, with the warmth of inside the restaurant kept making me hot and cold. Anyway, the Bloody Mary was FIRE, perfect heat, and particular taste I can't put my finger on, but in a good way! My friend had the Irish coffee and said it was insanely good. He ordered the croissant sandwich, which was perfection, there's nothing I can honestly say they could add or remove. We ordered a side of bacon, because bacon is life, perfectly crispy. The brioche doughnuts I thought would need a dipping sauce, sure didn't, they were so good! Wellness shots have liquor in them, I got the ginger/turmeric vodka one, so good, and healthy right?? Now, the Dungeness crab Benedict, was so disappointing!! I can manage heat, but nothing on the menu indicates it comes with a spicy chili oil draped on it. My friend took a bite and was surprised not in a good way. What was odd was there was no flavor to the Benedict, the hollandaise was bland, crab was bland, my friend agreed, I'm not sure how that happens! Poached egg was perfect, and those potatoes!!! My husband and I went to The Love Shack for happy hour and all I can say is WOW!!! From the fresh oysters to the steak kabobs everything was amazing!!!! We will definitely be back. Hip hop/R&B 90s/00s. Fun to chill with some drinks and food. We were there for 2 drinks and a small plate. We ordered the Ilocos Empanadas, and wow--DELICIOUS! I usually don't care for empanadas, but this was my all around favorite. Loved the pickled onions on top, and the center was delicious. Crispy and not overly oily. Several co-workers and I met here for drinks and conversation, and I arrived thirty minutes early to ensure the seating arrangements were suitable for our group. The staff were kind and supportive, and made sure all of our needs were met. The establishment offers a variety of seating options with a bar and adorable booths inside, and picnic tables galore outside. I love the upscale tiki vibe, with moody lighting and lots of cozy spots to relax and enjoy the intimate setting. I absolutely love the bar cart service that goes from table to table! The staff prepare mini drinks that give guests an opportunity to sample all of their offerings. They also serve tapas-style dishes from their carts when the dining room is full. Even though I rarely drink, I enjoyed an old fashioned and a mai-tai because the cart service and presentation were just too cute to pass up. The Hamachi was my all-time favorite item on the menu that night. It's served with watermelon and yuzu ponzu, with a kumquat scallion relish. It was SUPERBLY delicious and I highly recommend trying it. The halfshell oysters were fresh and tasty, served with a Greek mignonette, lemon, and the cutest tiny bottles of tabasco sauce. There is much to try on the menu, so I'm definitely planning a return trip. This is such a cute bar to go to with girl friends or on a date! I came late one evening and had a couple drinks and bites with a friend. The interior of the restaurant is nice: dimly lit and with lots of booths for good conversation. They have a really cool concept here where they bring out small bites on a bar cart and have a bingo card for you to stamp as you try out different foods. Really fun idea as you dine! Very tasty food but overall experience? It was okay. My partner and I tried really hard not to "nit pick" everything about our experience recently at The Love Shack but, honestly, I was disappointed. The decorations are minimally tiki (aesthetically tiki?) and a majority of the items were a bite or two but still paid the price as if we were expected to be full by the end of the visit (we were not). My partner joked and said this place was perfect for a ladies' catch up spot and you should not bring a hungry person here which was fair. Service was also a little slow and, because of how petite the place was, we had to wait 20 minutes for our reserved table. I had been dying to try this spot for AGES when I finally went with a friend on a random Friday night. I made sure to get reservations because this is a PETITE little spot and walk-ins are welcome though you may be hit with a wait if you don't have a resy. Positive things first, the vibe is super cozy and service was very friendly! The drinks were delicious and I was definitely enamored by the cart options that were going around. We both knew that we were absolutely 100% about to order the fry flight which was great, but a bit on the smaller side in terms of portions. I will say most of the food here is pretty small/bite sized and falls into the category of snacks with drinks. I'd honestly recommend having a full meal somewhere before or after oooor you can always eat a handful of menu items here to get full. The downside for me as a vegetarian was that not a ton of the items offered are vegetarian. I got the mezze platter which was tasty and honestly very aesthetically pleasing but it wasn't mind blowing by any means. My friend, not vegetarian, got the hot dog and I will say I was....very surprised by just how bite sized it was. We went to grab dumplings afterwards because we were both actually still pretty hungry. Shockingly still giving this spot a 4/5 because it really is a cute cocktail spot to get good drinks and snacks. I would honestly rate it a 3.5/5 if I could. For brunch, reservations sell out quickly and the site says they save some seats for walk in but we got there at opening and with only 2 groups ahead of us, they were out of walk in seating- we had to stand at a standing table to eat. They came by with carts of drinks after we'd already ordered drinks and came by with a cart of rolls but we'd already eaten donuts- I'll try brunch again but wait until I can get a reservation to sit, stay longer and try more things. read more

Finally made it to The Love Shack where food is served on a traveling cart. A well designed matrix menu describing the possible selections. Dim sum style dining with heavy cocktail bar feels. We checked in to see if seats were available and was led to a cute outdoor space. After ordering and receiving our drinks, we were informed the cart service was indoors only. Whomp whomp. We made the best of our disappointment and ordered a couple dishes. As a local, I eat my fair share of oysters. The oysters at Love Shack blew my mind. Incredible flavors and the perfect size. The mini Chicago dog with accompanying mini pickled pepper martini was insanely fun and enjoyable. You have to order the pair! Our server was super cool and we had some fun conversations. In fact every food that we got was delicious , well made and had the perfect bite sized portion. The drinks were pretty good as well -I went slightly rogue and ordered a totally different alcohol than I usually do and got a Martini and a Hot line Bling -Both Vodka based drinks . I've seen a lot of hype over this restaurant and since I had gone to G Love and loved it, I knew I wanted to check this place out as well! Came on a Sunday night at 5:15pm and was surprised that they had an open table for two inside still. We came without reserving a table but that is highly recommended. The place had a tropical vibe to it with fun and fruity drinks listed on the menu. The waiter came to us right away with complimentary Prosecco like what?! I felt like a queen haha! The Prosecco was actually really good and not too strong. I felt like the wait staff were kind of pressuring my friend and I to get cocktails but neither of us were in the mood for that. We did get to sample a small amount of what they have on their menu and everything was so good! My favorite was the brioche waffle. We came on a Thursday at 5pm. We thought it would be fun for the two of us to sit at the bar. They start by offering you a cute glass of welcome bubbles! That's when I knew for sure we were going to have a lovely time. We were told the carts usually start at 5:30 and the whole service should be about 90 minutes. The menu is in the form of a bingo card and you collect stamps when you order from the carts. You can also order a few larger items directly from the kitchen. They're new so I know they're still working out the kinks. We were there for 3 hours and still did not see all the items on the menu come by. I asked if they serve all the tables before coming to the bar as the items probably did come out but sold out before getting to the bar seats. The thoughtful bartender put in a special order for us to receive the items we were missing. My food favorites were the oysters, milk bun Reuben, wonton fish tacos, brioche waffles, and milk+cookies. So creative yet brilliant idea to bring food and cocktails in a bar cart. The food was fantastic! The crab sandwich was my first pick. The sandwich texture reminded me of an arepa..Like a thick sweet maize wrapped around crab with I believe maybe had cucumber or pickle for a nice crunch texture. The ahi tuna was held by fried wonton wrap which also gave it a nice crunch texture. There was a flower garden in my taco but I didn't mind it at all. If you're a mezcal kinda person, get the Channel Orange. Very Smokey but has a nice touch of tangy flavor added. Ambiance is cute AF.
