I wanted to like this place given the decor, reviews, and we came to celebrate! Maybe my friends and I went on an off night but I didn't have the best experience. The staff were quite slow. We were asked if we had any questions, but before we could respond, our server walked away. The place was empty when we came, though we didn't get utensils and had to hunt down someone to request some after getting food. Upon clearing our dishes, the waiters mucus or spit had dropped from their face onto our table. He was sick, which I understand you can't help, but staying home is ok when you're sick. The portion sizes are quite small so definitely don't go hungry and I recommend eating first. Mainly go here for drinks. There are still good things - the highlight was the flavor of the food! Shoestring Fries: So crispy and nicely seasoned!! Honestly I could have ate just these all night. Brisket Skewer: Garlicky Smoky Well seasoned Tender Just wish there was more! Each skewer was maybe 2 inches :( Empanada: Nice seasoning with a generous amount of filling. Tender! Pickled onions were such a great add and complimented nicely. The shell was a bit too crispy? It was falling apart as your bit into it. Wish there was a bit more salsa verde. The drinks were good as well - creative, fun, and balanced.
If you enjoy G-love be sure to check out their sister restaurant! It has a similar concept to their next door restaurant but has a more simplified menu to enjoy. We didn't come with a reservation but were able to get seated immediately at one of their outdoor tables with heaters. I was checking out their menu ahead of time but it seems they may rotate it so be sure to check it out before you come if you're looking for something specific. On the menu we had they also had some drinks that they were going to give a portion to for a local charity. The menu is smaller and meant to be shared so we almost ordered a majority of the menu. haha + Oysters + Royal Shack burger + Fries + Mushroom skewer + Chips & dip + Ilocos empanaga + Brown Butter Delica My favorites were definitely the empanada, mushroom skewer, and squash. Love the textures of the different items and the flavors. We definitely ordered a little too much and has some leftovers but it was worth trying everything.
One of the best bar programs I've seen in Portland. What a cool spot with great drinks, fun appetizers and really awesome staff. Definitely want to check this place out.

I love oysters and overpriced cockys, The Love Shack fit the bill!! Stopped by on a Saturday around 6 PM, ambitious without a reservation but we were able to snag a table for 2 outside. The interior of this spot is cutie! It's tiny, moody, and a complete vibe. It's like an upscale tiki bar. Outdoors has a little less to be desired but there was a heater and service was just as attentive. We had the ultimate girl dinner. Started with a dozen oysters, that were perfectly paired with lemon, tabasco, and their greek mignonette. 12 oysters will run ya around $50. The little gem wedge salad was tasty! The miso-caesar and blue cheese crumble is a match made in heaven. Lastly, the flight of fries was fun. The different textures of fries and the assortment of dips makes it a great shareable item. The spicy calabrian aioli is next level. Now...the cocktails!! They have a pretty elaborate cocktail menu featuring a wide range of house cocktails, the classics, and a good about of N/A proof options. We absolutely loved the "eyes without a face". It's a vodka based drink with ginger, thai chili, lychee, lemongrass and lime. We ended up ordering 2 rounds! House cocktails run from $17 - $22 - pretty average in the bay area so it didn't bug me. I feel like Portland gets pricey with these fancy shmancy spots but worth every penny!
I love love shack, I've gone there numerous times now. When they first opened, the food portions were really small and I was sort of annoyed. They've really honed in on their menu now though, and I like the options a lot more. They have happy hour the first and last hour of service. The place is small so reservations are recommended. The crusty avocado with ahi is really good. The dip with roe is really good. The ribeye skewers are good. They have non alcoholic options too, which is perfect. The service is always great. The vibe is like a small, classy tiki bar. It's so cute and good for girls nights or date nights.
Tiny place, but so cute! We didn't have reservations but they were able to sit us at the bar. The "press button" door they have to be able to move their drink carts and food out of the kitchen is convenient but the constant use of it (which it makes sense!!) bothered me haha I'm sensitive to repetitive noise. Also, the cold air from behind the door, with the warmth of inside the restaurant kept making me hot and cold. Anyway, the Bloody Mary was FIRE, perfect heat, and particular taste I can't put my finger on, but in a good way! My friend had the Irish coffee and said it was insanely good. He ordered the croissant sandwich, which was perfection, there's nothing I can honestly say they could add or remove. We ordered a side of bacon, because bacon is life, perfectly crispy. The brioche doughnuts I thought would need a dipping sauce, sure didn't, they were so good! Wellness shots have liquor in them, I got the ginger/turmeric vodka one, so good, and healthy right?? Now, the Dungeness crab Benedict, was so disappointing!! I can manage heat, but nothing on the menu indicates it comes with a spicy chili oil draped on it. My friend took a bite and was surprised not in a good way. What was odd was there was no flavor to the Benedict, the hollandaise was bland, crab was bland, my friend agreed, I'm not sure how that happens! Poached egg was perfect, and those potatoes!!! Piping hot, so crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Regardless, I will be back, definitely worth going to
Food, drinks, and staff were great! Really enjoyed the outside seating. Only downside was having to wait over 30 minutes to pay. We finally ended up going to the bar to get our bill.

So without the dish cart preview, we were amusingly startled how immature the food was. Their interpretation of dim sum means one or two bites. Modern island decor, tight seating makes this instantly lively when the crowd comes in. Bring your jukeboxoney cause you will spend over $100 for two. Wishing they had some glitter on the front porch.
This is such a cute bar to go to with girl friends or on a date! I came late one evening and had a couple drinks and bites with a friend. The interior of the restaurant is nice: dimly lit and with lots of booths for good conversation. They have a really cool concept here where they bring out small bites on a bar cart and have a bingo card for you to stamp as you try out different foods. Really fun idea as you dine! Service is also very friendly. The food itself consists of classic bar bites as well as some fusion foods. One of my favorites that I tried was their croissant banh mi! All of the drinks that I tried of theirs were also amazing and fun. Loved my time here and I would love to come back with more/different friends!
What a fun concept - we came on a Thursday night around 8 PM and were seated right away. I tried their house Manhattan - super delicious and generous presentation with a sidecar for under $14 - sold! Their niche is their drink cart that comes around the indoor dining room every 15-20 minutes. The drinks were smaller and at $11 it was fun to grab one or two and try something new. Nothing on the food menu grabbed me so we stayed for drinks only. Great spot for a first date or anniversary or just something fun and different in PDX!
We stopped in with friends for the first time at Love Shack following a day exploring. We hit the great bottle shop a few doors down, stopped in at 50 Licks and then chilled at the outdoor table and ordered a round of cocktails for four. Comfortable, relaxing and a well made cocktail allowed for downtime and chit chat. The staff was attentive and ensured we had what we needed.

Love Shack is so so cutesy! From the owners that brought you G-love next door comes the perfect addition to the Pearl district. It's especially great for date night or a fun girls' night out. If you plan on coming, definitely make a reservation because seating is limited and it fills up quickly! The experience is what makes this place so special. They roll around little carts, almost dim sum style, with fun bites and drinks like mini cocktail drinks like an espresso martini, oysters, tacos, and desserts. It's such a unique concept and always a hit when I bring friends here. The space is cozy with an elevated tiki-inspired vibe, and they recently added a nice outdoor patio. It's a little on the pricey side, but you're paying for the atmosphere and experience, and I think it's worth it! The staff are always warm and upfront about wait times, so if you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait. read more

Very cute bar! Came with two friends and ordered drinks and apps, which was pretty expensive for what we got. The apps were very basic but priced pretty steep. Service was minimal, and the place was pretty busy so I understand. Not sure if I'll be back as there are better places in portland to meet friends at. read more
Returned to try brunch menu and my 5 star review remains 5 star. Staff were wonderful, drinks were creative and precise and the food had unique flavors that blended beautifully. My favorite items were the mini espresso martini, mezcal wellness shot, poppyseed lox waffle and my matcha cocktail. read more

Have been here 3 times and had very different experiences each time- the food and drinks were consist consistently delicious though. For later nights, past 9pm, there's no cart service. For brunch, reservations sell out quickly and the site says they save some seats for walk in but we got there at opening and with only 2 groups ahead of us, they were out of walk in seating- we had to stand at a standing table to eat. They came by with carts of drinks after we'd already ordered drinks and came by with a cart of rolls but we'd already eaten donuts- I'll try brunch again but wait until I can get a reservation to sit, stay longer and try more things. read more

Finally made it to The Love Shack where food is served on a traveling cart. A well designed matrix menu describing the possible selections. Dim sum style dining with heavy cocktail bar feels. We checked in to see if seats were available and was led to a cute outdoor space. After ordering and receiving our drinks, we were informed the cart service was indoors only. Whomp whomp. We made the best of our disappointment and ordered a couple dishes. As a local, I eat my fair share of oysters. The oysters at Love Shack blew my mind. Incredible flavors and the perfect size. The mini Chicago dog with accompanying mini pickled pepper martini was insanely fun and enjoyable. You have to order the pair! Our server was super cool and we had some fun conversations. Overall I'll be back soon with a reservation for an inside table. read more

I've seen a lot of hype over this restaurant and since I had gone to G Love and loved it, I knew I wanted to check this place out as well! Came on a Sunday night at 5:15pm and was surprised that they had an open table for two inside still. We came without reserving a table but that is highly recommended. The place had a tropical vibe to it with fun and fruity drinks listed on the menu. The waiter came to us right away with complimentary Prosecco like what?! I felt like a queen haha! The Prosecco was actually really good and not too strong. I felt like the wait staff were kind of pressuring my friend and I to get cocktails but neither of us were in the mood for that. We did get to sample a small amount of what they have on their menu and everything was so good! My favorite was the brioche waffle. My least favorite was probably the flight of fries, only because everything else was so good and unique! Definitely coming back here again and recommend it to anyone! read more
we put our names down and had a wait. once we sat down, we were hit with the dim sum vibes but modern bar edition. they stopped by with the mini tropical drinks (too sweet for me), and small bar snacks. we also ordered on the regular menu as well. both menu options had great food choices for the night. our server was helpful and the girlies had a great time. the splurge was worth it!! for girls night is the vibe. read more
This spot is great to grab drinks and apps. The service is also always top-notch. The added outdoor seating so it didn't take long to get a seat on a Saturday night. But expect a little bit of a wait. I highly recommend the flight of fries. It also comes with a spicy sauce and an aioli. read more

I had been dying to come here and finally a work happy hour brought me here! The stars of the show here are the cocktails - everyone at the table ordered different ones and they were all incredible. My favorites were champagne dreams and channel orange but honestly you can't go wrong with any. The food was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. It was a perfect accompaniment to the drinks but would probably go for dinner somewhere else. The service was top notch and the outdoor seating was perfectly shaded and cozy for this summer! read more

First off the owner, such a sweet guy and personable. Very charming! He's so attentive walking around checking in which is what we love! Okay, the idea of having bar carts coming around is top notch service! This basically reminded me of my childhood, only you would get dim sum. So creative yet brilliant idea to bring food and cocktails in a bar cart. The food was fantastic! The crab sandwich was my first pick. The sandwich texture reminded me of an arepa..Like a thick sweet maize wrapped around crab with I believe maybe had cucumber or pickle for a nice crunch texture. The ahi tuna was held by fried wonton wrap which also gave it a nice crunch texture. There was a flower garden in my taco but I didn't mind it at all. If you're a mezcal kinda person, get the Channel Orange. Very Smokey but has a nice touch of tangy flavor added. Ambiance is cute AF. Def gives date spot vibes, but also good for small groups! read more
The Love Shack is a perfect spot for a date or a night out with friends! You could even go alone and sit at the bar. It has a fun vibe that's a little casual, yet classy - think bougie tiki bar. They serve dim sum style food, drinks, and desserts and it comes around on a little cart, cute - loved it! If you stay an hour, you will be able to try the entire menu. The staff are friendly and explained everything along the way. They start you off with a little bubbly, which is a nice touch. It paired well with the oysters which were served with a Greek mignonette, along with the cutest little bottle of Tabasco upon request. I would imagine the menu changes often - it comes on a fun "bingo" card they stamp along the way to track your bill. There are a few larger items you can order apart from the cart. We were excited to try the little croissant banh mi and they did not disappoint! I only wanted more. A standout was the crab roll on a fried bao bun that packed layers of flavor. I would get it again for sure! They have a machine that pours out perfect espresso martinis! You can even get mini cocktails from the bar and the cart. Check out this new, hot spot! A line formed ten minutes to 5pm - so plan on a wait if you don't show early, not a lot of tables or bar seats. The prices vary, but a little on the high side - could stack up quick! I'm excited to see the menu progress and come back to try more items. read more
Ordered a crab roll which was really good, small but would get again. The cheesy bread needed more cheese and I prob wouldn't get again. For a beverage, I got the slow motion which was tasty but had a little too much egg whites, like half the drink was egg whites. The banana pancakes drink was also really good. The vibes was group hang. Large tables were available to reserve for large parties. They came around with carts which did feel like they were soliciting us lol. read more

Late night... triple date night with friends. Great company, drinks and nibbles. Superb very attentive service. The drinks were fun and tasty. The food was good and they have a late night happy hour menu that we stayed long enough to enjoy! Make reservations because this place gets busy. read more
