The staff was really kind and generous with the portions. The poke was good but at the end of the day this is coming down to personal preference. I really wish they had brown rice too

I was visiting SoCal and my friend introduced me to this place. The food here is amazing and their portion sizes are massive. The staff here is very friendly and welcoming and were quite patient since it was my first time ordering there. The ambiance inside offers a lot of seating and I would definitely visit them again.

Bottom Line Up Front: Low-Key Poke Joint is the poke bowl version of chipotle, serving up customizable bowls in a casual setting -- for slightly higher prices than you'd expect from a fast-food place. The Background: As the name denotes, this restaurant serves poke (pronounced po-kay), a Hawaiian dish of raw fish that's been cut into cubes and marinated (usually with soy sauce, sesame, and seaweed). While poke is absolutely delicious in Hawaii, here on the mainland (continental USA) it's often drenched in overpowering sauces to the point where you can barely call it poke. Fortunately, that's not the case at Low-Key Poke Joint -- the seafood is fresh and subtly seasoned and marinated. The Menu: Here you choose from one of two sizes: regular and large. The former gets you 3 scoops of protein while the latter gets your 5 scoops. Low-Key has all the classic proteins, from salmon and tuna to shrimp and octopus. For vegetarians, there is tofu and avocado. The proteins are served on one of six bases: spring mix, kale mix, Jasmine rice, Hula rice (rice blended with purple cabbage and coconut), Bootea rice (bamboo with green tea rice), or half and half. Then you add in your desired sauce, sides, and toppings (of which there are many to choose from for each). The Food: I ordered a regular bowl with 1 scoop of tuna and 2 scoops of scallops on top of Hula rice. I got it with the Truffle Shuffle sauce; green onions, crab meat, seaweed salad, and ginger for the sides; and furikake for the topping. Everything tasted fresh with no overpowering sauces. While scallops and tuna weren't the best I've ever had, they were tasty enough for me to be pleased with the quality. And I was shocked at how much I loved the Hula rice. The regular size (3 scoops of protein) was enough to keep me satisfied, though I wouldn't say it's a generous portion -- more like "just right." The Setting: I can't comment on the sit-down experience, as I ordered to-go, but the inside was clean and organized. I wouldn't necessarily come here with a big party (it's a medium-sized fast-food joint after all), but you should be able to find room for a part of 6 or smaller, though 2-4 would be ideal. The Service: The staff was fast, friendly, and polite. Top notch! The Price: Here's where I have to knock off a star from my rating. For a regular bowl and a drink, plus tax, you'll be paying about $20 for a meal. For one person. At a fast food place. Wow. Sure, it's raw seafood, not manufactured burgers, but paying that much for fast food and not being completely stuffed is a downer. And don't get me started with the large bowl, which is basically $17 by itself. Ouch. The Conclusion: Overall, Low-Key Poke Joint knows how to make poke the right way. Just don't expect to get a boatload of fast food for the higher prices you'll be paying.

Craving Poke and I came across this spot. Service was quick. It's a hidden spot but it seems to still have their customers. The Poke was really good and fresh. Definitely recommend the regular 3 scoops as it is pretty filling. I got the spicy salmon, spicy crab, and shrimp. Theres a lot of seating if you dine in. I'll be coming back soon.

The best Poke spot in Riverside. What sets them apart has to be how great the staff is and how fresh the food is. I really appreciate how friendly and welcoming the staff is. They are very helpful and always offer us samples of their items so we can decide what to order. The fish always tastes fresh and never looks grey. My go to is salmon or salmon belly but their tuna is great as well. I always order the regular scoop which is loaded up. I'm usually always able to have some left over for later as well. They have a bunch of sauces and toppings to choose from including masago, corn, crabmeat, seaweed salad and even hot Cheetos. I believe they also offer sushi burritos which i have not tried but seems like a very unique and interesting item you don't see in many spots. I prefer takeout but their seating space is a decent size and pretty spacious. I really recommend checking them out.

Was craving poke after a flight into Ontario and stopped here on the way home! Situated in a small plaza complex, parking wasn't an issue. The entrance door leads you to the line to order your poke bowl. Regular bowls having 3 scoops of protein and large bowls having 5 scoops of protein was such a delightful surprise considering typical places have large bowls containing at most 3 scoops of protein. Also solid for the price - about ~16 for a regular bowl. There are 3 different types of rice and I opted for the hula rice which had a savory coconut flavor. I was also excited to see salmon belly as a protein option, which I feel like you don't see often. I opted for a regular with hula rice and scoops of salmon, salmon belly, and spicy tuna. The sauce list was a bit overwhelming (lol) so I asked for the most popular combination. I wish there were more options for sides but altogether the bowl was packed, filling, and delicious!

Love this poki joint! I have been coming here for years! Got dinner the other night & they did not disappoint! Tried the boo-tea rice this time & it was delicious! The place was packed on a Sunday night & everything was fresh & didn't have to wait. The only thing I was disappointed about was they didn't have coke in stock. lol. Enjoy! Sorry I forgot pics!!

Stopped by Lowkey Poke Joint on a Wednesday at 12:30 PM and had no trouble finding parking in the free lot. I was greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival. I sampled the rice options and especially loved the Bootea--bamboo rice infused with green tea, which was flavorful and unique. I ended up doing a mix of Bootea and kale, which they offered with a light vinaigrette. I ordered a large poke bowl with five scoops, opting for salmon. The fish was fresh and delicious, and I appreciated being able to sample the sauces before deciding. Total was $19.56, not including tip. The space has a laid-back, casual vibe with plenty of seating.

This place is awesome. Miss the island vibes and happened to be driving through the area, hungry. Saw the photos on Yelp; quick peek at the reviews told us everything we need to know- it's good. Staff are patient and welcoming. Such nice mellow music inside, think Mac Ayres. And the food... fresh, clean and cold fish. Heavy-handed, flavorful rice and simple topping options, cool sauce options. Go. And thank me after. Mahalo

Three different types of rice to choose from! Protein choices also include salmon belly and scallops! Both were delicious! Loved their sauces. Toppings were decent. Nice feeling of masago. They also have flaming hot Cheetos for the dry toppings. Great and friendly service with delicious poke bowl! I would return!

The restaurant itself looks really nice and has a very pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. The service was also top-notch--the server was incredibly friendly and accommodating while walking us through the options and prepping our food. We ordered two build-your-own poke bowls, and the sheer variety of options is where this place really shines. They have a huge selection of fresh proteins to choose from. I highly recommend the spicy tuna; it had a really nice kick to it that I absolutely loved! My favorite thing overall, though, was the massive variation of sauces. It was such a pleasant surprise to see so many creative flavor profiles available, which isn't always the case at build-your-own bowl restaurants. It really let us customize our bowls perfectly. If you're looking for fresh food, excellent service, and tons of options, Poke Lounge is definitely the spot to go. Highly recommend!

We walked in at 7:37 p.m., and as we were placing our order, we were told they were only accepting takeout orders. This was disappointing since the restaurant didn't close until 8:00 p.m. We easily would have finished our meal before closing. If there's a dine-in cutoff time, it would be helpful to communicate that clearly so customers know before even coming into the restaurant. The poke itself tasted average. My biggest disappointment was the protein portion, which was much smaller than I expected for the price. Overall, the staff was kind and the restaurant was clean, but the dine-in policy and portion size left me feeling underwhelmed. Everything in me desires to leave a two star yet I'd say 3 is fair because of the service. Bianca for the win.

I love their Hawaiian marinade. That seems to be the most popular for them. I will say maybe my most recent visit-- the salmon was ok cuz the marinade was just made because they ran out of it. So they used the regular salmon to make it. I love their sauces too!! Creamy garlic, creamy miso were just some of them. I always find that most poké spots only have spicy mayo. But I love that they have more than one mayo / aioli type of sauces!! Those are my fav! I hope they continue being this way and only change for the better. I used to not like them some years ago. But they are so much better now! Previous review from yrs ago: Just your average poke bowl place. Nothing special. Could've used more sauce in my bowl, since their drizzle isn't very much. They control how much goes in, and i couldn't really taste the marinade either. So overall it tasted quite bland.

I like that there are plastic bags stacked near the register so you can just grab one yourself if needed. Food: Fish was very fresh and I was satisfied with the quantities of everything. I like that they had some unique protein options here, like roasted eel, which was extremely good. They had a lot of sauce options too. I tried the salmon bake, which was okay. There have been times the staff seems high and blown out of their minds. Other times they are too busy chatting up with coworkers to acknowledge or provide even the basic decency of customer service. Then, more often than not you are treated almost as a bother. Due to the service here, I have stopped dining in and opt for calling a phone order to take out. On three separate occasions now, within the last 3 months, they have neglected the phones for orders. They would rather disconnect or turn off the phone completely to avoid any future orders. This comes as a surprise when in about 10 minutes of my first attempted call, I see a staff of four people, yet only one customer. I believe there was no excuse as to why they could not answer the phone. I confirmed they accept take out orders essentially until closing. I have always been mindful to not attempt to order within 30 minutes of them closing. The service here is appalling and truly diminishes their potential for how great the spot could be considering the food they have. Food on the other hand is a total opposite of the service, very flavorful and strong punch of spice at a level 3. My go to is the Wonton ramen with a miso base. Crispy rice is a great starter to share. The garlic ramen is also a great contender if you have a garlic craving. Open layout feels like a mom and pop shop. Overall pretty clean establishment. Occasional tweaker going in for the bathroom closer to the end of the night.

I mentioned it to the waitress, and all she said was that it could be a little dry because the sauce is served on the side. I explained that it wasn't a little dry--it was very dry and definitely not grilled as advertised. She acted like that was completely normal, which was very disappointing. When you're paying $25 for a plate, you expect good quality and flavor. Sadly, both the food and the customer service have gone downhill. I can no longer recommend this place.
