I like pretty much everything I've tried from this place. Some of my favorites are The Cubano and Southwestern Chicken Chile. The only thing I don't like at all is the plastic wrap they use to pack the sandwiches. The sandwich gets soggy and even though it doesn't affect the taste the texture is not pleasant in my opinion. Overall had a good lunch experience here. They have a good variety of salads and sandwiches for those trying to eat healthy. I had a chicken salad with avocado and I found everything to be fresh and reasonable. The service is order at the counter and you grab your food when your name is called. The restaurant was an interesting feel as it was fast foodish plus shabby chic. The chair were a nice upgrade compared to similar places. The restaurant is small and the tables are a little too close for my liking and the reason for giving it 4 stars. Bottom line...great place for a healthy lunch with easy and fast service. Definitely a nice little lunch spot to go to. Came around 11:00/11:10 and it wasn't super packed, only about 3/4 people in front of me but as soon as I ordered and sat down there were probably about 10/11 people and it had only been 8 minutes since I walked in! I can see why though, the atmosphere when you walk through the door has a very modern urban feel to it which is great for the simplicity of the meals! I'm a bigger guy so for my first Time I ordered the "Good Ole Boy" with double/extra meat, cost me about 4 bucks more which is maybe a little bit steep but it was well worth it. Total with the sandwich + chips + bottled water + taxes was probably about 14 bucks not too shabby for the quality. Sandwich was very well made and fresh, mine particularly came with lettuce, tomato, Dijon mustard and i think mayonnaise? Nonetheless I was really satisfied, slap some tabasco on there with some jalapeno chips and you're all set! Seriously Recommend this place for lunch (since they're only open from 10:30 - 3:00) will be coming back soon to try more sandwiches and maybe some of their in-house sweet tea! read more

So freaking delicious. My husband and I are sandwich people. We love to try out little eclectic sandwich and soup cafes and this one did not disappoint. Cutest name ever also, amirite? I had just had surgery so I couldn't have anything phenomenal so I ordered the cheesy chicken noodle soup. My husband asked if they could strain a lot of the chunks out. They did without any complaints and even came to personally check to see that it was strained enough. It was SO good! I already love chicken noodle but the touch of cheese made it creamy instead of soupy. Highly recommend for a cold day or for a sick day. My husband ordered the "Our Finest Dip" which is the French Dip with the freshly carved angus beef and the delicious au jus sauce. He said it was only second to his favorite, Colonial Sandwich Shop but he devoured it in seconds. He gave is a 4.75 which in his book, is basically a perfect freaking sandwich. Wonderfully friendly staff, beautiful modern rustic decor and a great selection of food. We will definitely be back. Just wished they were open later! read more

The best place for a salad for miles. Obviously, some folks will consider that perjorative, but it's really a good spot. Sandwiches are good as well, and the iced tea is decent. No secret, I love a good Lunch Box meal. I come here at least once a week and have tried the sandwiches, salads, and soups and they are consistently great. The fully loaded baked potato soup is fantastic! It's the daily soup on Thursdays and one of the main reasons why my weekly visits happen to occur mostly on Thursdays. It's rich, flavorful, and the chives and crispy bacon topping only enhance the flavor. The triple dip salad is a good choice if you want something light and cannot make up your mind. It's loaded with a scoop of either homemade tuna or chicken salad (your choice), pasta salad and fresh fruit on a bed of crispy and fresh greens. So filling, so fresh, and so clean. The sandwiches are always great and made to order. My favorites are the good ole' boy, the Zeus, and the French dip. There's something for everyone. If you're in the La Porte area during, you guessed it, lunchtime, make it a point to stop into this quaint spot and have a great meal :) read more

Big fan of new sandwich shop recently opened 9709 Spencer Hwy in LaPorte TX. Meat is fresh cut, bread is fresh baked, and veggies are fresh as well - achieving the rare 3 fresh award! Seriously, they are worth checking out with delicious looking salads (I have not have one yet, but plan to), and offering a daily blue-plate special every day of the work week. I suggest calling in your order and giving them plenty of time - the ONLY reason they did not get 5 stars from me was the wait time after ordering. They've expanded their chip options, now offer bottled drinks, and the menu has sandwiches, salads, a daily soup, and a daily special (spaghetti, meatloaf, etc.). They recently expanded their outdoor seating which will be great when it cools off. Love this place more every time I come! PREVIOUS: The LunchBox is really convenient for me from where I work so I stop here almost every time I don't bring a lunch. They offer no GMO, gluten free, sandwiches (I always have the gobbler), fruit cups, macaroni salad, fresh lemonade and brewed tea. Great place for a quick salad. Came by here with a coworker to pick up lunch. I got a small caesar and she ordered "chicken salad" salad I think. There was just a short wait for arriving at a prime dining time but we did order to go. The cashiers were friendly and the place had a nice, relaxed ambiance to it so it would have been nice to eat there as well. Food was ready in less than 5 minutes. I enjoyed my salad, it had some nice fresh parmesan on it. Even the small was perfectly filling for me. My coworker enjoyed her dish as well - she had been there before, this was my first time. I'm still eating my Gobbler as I post this. Pretty darn good! I know people are thinking "how can anyone screw up a sandwich"? Well they can and do at other places. Typically not enough of something you want - meat, cheese or veggies. The swiss cheese on my Gobbler is larger than the bread and the bread is pretty big. It's not thin sliced or processed swiss either. The turkey on this sandwich was about an inch thick and they weren't stingy with the fresh tomatoes. The sandwiches are about $7 each, but you get a side of your choice with it. I'm not a big fruit cup person, but the inclusion of some healthy sides is always a good thing. Star #4 has to be that I saw a friendly face there - a previous manager of the Bullritos next to this, one who knew me by name. I asked her if this is owned by the same people and yes, it is. I have to say I'm more of a fan of Russell Ybarra, even if he no longer plays an active role in his businesses, than I am of Tillman. So this is definitely another hit for LaPorte and Deer Park! I'll definitely be back some time to try "the Yankee"! read more

One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. I had chips. Where my wife had the tomato basil soup. The soup was really good too. I will most definitely come back again and again.
