If you have a smaller appetite or don't want any leftovers (the bowl is always enough for two meals for me), I recommend getting a kids' meal! Comes with a pita (1 meat, 2 toppings), one side (rice or salad), one dip, pita chips or carrots, and a cup of juice (I recommend the cucumber mint)! I order from this CAVA location all the time and love it. The restaurant is clean, and you get your food very quickly with little to no wait or long lines. Cava is know for their healthy Mediterranean food so I bring my dad with me here often. The food is simple and I love the amount of toppings you can add. They have premade bowls and pita wraps you can choose from but I love DIYing my meal and trying all the toppings. My fave thing to add to my meal is their crunchy pita chips. They come in their regular and spicy flavors and I like to sometime use them to dip into my bowl! Price is fairly reasonable considering the amount of food your getting. I've never left a review before, but this experience with CAVA was really frustrating and disappointing. I placed an online order and traveled over 30 minutes to pick it up, then waited another 30 minutes once I arrived. We were told the saffron rice was too hard to serve, so the bowls were made with brown rice instead, which we hadn't asked for. I was told I'd have to contact support for a refund since the order was placed online. After all that, they agreed to still make our bowls so we wouldn't leave empty-handed, But when we got home and opened the bowls, one of them still had the "too hard" saffron rice they claimed they couldn't serve. And even worse, one of the bowls was missing the chicken entirely. It honestly felt like they either didn't care or purposely threw the food together because we had already requested for a refund . I was in the mood for something different while out in the Clear Lake area. I wanted something quick, but also something nice and fresh. Cava came up on my trusty Yelp app and so I went. Think of Cava as a Mediterranean Chipotle. The concept is alike in that you walk through a line and either order their creations or create your own bowl, salad, or pita. You start with a base, work your way down to sides and proteins and end with toppings and sauces. Easy peasy! First the not so great part of the visit. Customer service was lacking big time here. Only one employee seemed to care while the rest showed no enthusiasm in their job. The serving line was very messy. If you have any allergies, keep an eye out for items getting mixed together. I ordered my bowl, a side and a drink and they did not offer a tray to carry it all to my seat. Trays were piled high near overflowing trash area. With the amount of employees there, I wondered why that area was being untouched. The bathroom was pretty filthy too. The food was the redeeming part of the visit. I did a build your own bowl which at first didn't seem like a lot, but it ended up being too much for me to finish. I started with a base of saffron basmati rice and lentils. They piled it high with the Harrisa Honey Chicken that was absolutely delicious. I went with spicier toppings and the heat was definitely present. Everything I added was full of flavor and tasted great all together. I got a side of pita chips which I thought might be a bag of chips, but it was six slices of perfectly toasted, crispy but soft inside deliciousness. So good. I washed it all down with their fresh lemonade. They have quite a few options of fresh drinks as well as craft sodas. As a company, I can see myself visiting Cava alot. I stopped in to pick up lunch after discovering that The Great Greek is temporarily closed. I've been to Cava a few times in Pearland, but this was my first time visiting the Clear Lake location. I had no idea it recently opened. It took me 15 minutes to go half a mile from Nordstrom Rack to Cava. I hate going anywhere near Baybrook Mall on a weekend. If I could subtract 1000 stars for location alone, I would. It was very busy (Saturday afternoon), but the employees did a good job of getting people down the line. The lady in front of me had never been to Cava so she had questions which slowed down the flow. The employees were patient with her (kudos to them), especially when she would ask for suggestions, then told them she didn't like the foods they were suggesting. *eye roll* I've only done the Build a Bowl option. This time I went with Grains and Greens. I ordered a bunch of ingredients, but some ingredients that I tried for the first time were the red pepper hummus and the lentil tabbouleh. I was hesitant to order chicken because the chicken at the Pearland location was full of gristle. I took a chance on it again and I didn't have a single piece of gristle so that was a relief. I've also had the falafel and it's really good. Don't forget to get your complimentary piece of pita bread! I forgot to ask for it, but the employee asked me if I wanted a piece. I'm glad she did, because I love pita bread! Unfortunately they didn't have any pickled onions. They also didn't have any forks or bags. Luckily I was taking my food home and didn't need a fork, but it was a tad annoying. The bowl was delicious and filling. I can never eat the entire bowl in one sitting. Customer service and management is horrible I went to get a bowl as usual and always build my own always get the same thing go to this location at least 3 times a week so I am a regular. The employee mess up my bowel and I was letting her know that she was putting the wrong ingredients in my bowl she kept doing it. Finally I ask for a manager. As other reviews have mentioned. Please slow down..like I don't understand the rushing and sloppiness when making your order. What is going on? Then they try to skimp you on the bases. Instead of telling you what the extra charge will be for more stuff they will get an attitude. And recent the quality of food is even slacking. The roasted vegetables protein is literally overcooked to the point it's mushy. Didn't even know this was an issue until I went to another cava and it was like I got a completely different texture in a good way.
