Garlic chicken is nice and crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The steak is nicely seasoned and flavorful. Garlic ahi(subbed with Baba) is delicious. Its breaded and fried then smothered in a wasabi sauce. Their roast pork plate was nice aswell. If youre in town and looking for a good place to eat, Id definitely recommend the You Hungry Lunch Wagon. The food is good, the guy taking the orders is super cool, and their prices are great.

They usually park on the King street side of Thomas Square or just one block over. It's a big white truck. If I recall they also have daily specials like Loco Moco, chicken Katsu, Mahi, and pork. Not sure how these taste. I just stick with the steak. If they had BBQ chicken I might give it a try. The only reason I don't give them 4 stars is some times they are out of tossed salad and it's good steak but not great.

I was at Richies Drive inn when I remembered to check out this place. It was about a couple lanes or two further down North King Street heading west and sure enough you can spot the cute food trailer in the parking lot. Did you know the family built this wooden cafe on the trailer together?! The Kids helped built this with the direction of their father. They are parked near the street in the shared parking lot with the Pawn shop & Jackson Hewett Tax Servive. It's across the Kapalama Post office but before the old Pizza Hut location and I think after Palace Saimin You would only see the cafe on the trailer from Tuesday-Friday from 11am -5pm. There are some picnic benches and chairs under the canopy tent while you wait. In the beginning they started out in Waimanalo but for now they are here in Kalihi. They are known for their Steak and Shrimp plate and their two huge pieces of boneless fried chicken. They have some regular items and some specials of the day. Best to call ahead and place your order. The fried chicken would take the longest about 10 minutes wait time. They have some other items which sounded good like pot roast pork which is not offered all the time, hamburger steak. Kalbi, loco moco, bbq chicken, etc. On a hot day, shave ice and slushies and slushes floats would be refreshing. They have lemonade and orange aid slushies , but I got an orange aid slushie float with ice cream. I decided to get the fried chicken since I had some time to wait. it was huge as the photos posted and it was $12! It was hot and crispy in a seasoned flour battered. I couldn't wait to take a bite as I was driving, but I just tried part of the fried batter. It was seasoned so it was a little salty for me perhaps I just ate the batter part. The chicken gravy given was really good but having two humongous boneless chicken, I may need more gravy than the large portion cup given. Chicken tasted better after pouring some of the gravy over it. The gravy was yummy and not the brown gravy, but the light tan gravy! I'm looking forward to try more dishes like the rib eye steak, pot roast pork or some other specials. Please support this family own business! The gentleman working there told me the restaurant is renovating and decided to open a food truck to help supplement the business. The food truck is open for for those curious to try something new in the area and to all patrons of the Brewery. They have their own seating area in the back too so you don't need to be in the brewery. Got here before closing on a Saturday for a take out lunch break. Ordered Biscuits and Gravy from the Brunch menu. I haven't had Biscuits and Gravy for over 3 years and decided to indulge myself with nostalgia and $19 for my lunch break. So for $20 ( I walked out of the office with a $20 bill thinking to buy a quick meal around the corner) I got 2 perfectly seasoned and moist deep fried chicken tenders. The chicken was very good. Not overly seasoned and not salty. It also came with a perfectly cooked scramble egg ( I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked, btw). Sadly, the biscuits and gravy, was NOT the star but a nice side. Nothing remarkable. Bland. Biscuits were very flat and the gravy with sausage was quite bland. It was nice to have it on the side as i dug into the tasty chicken and egg. Located on King Street at the corner of the traffic light intersecting Kekaulike Street, this produce stand has a large selection of items with 2 shopping areas: indoors and outdoors. Price-wise I find this place cheaper than others but the quality isn't that great. I'm not sure the exact reason but maybe it's because the outside shopping area is "exposed" - - the heat and exhaust from the heavy traffic on King Street play a factor? I've also noticed the change of staff and owners recently. The middle-aged female Asian cashier used to be at my go-to place in Kekaulike Market and she now works or owns this stand. If you're looking for a great selection with bargains and don't mind average or below-average quality, this is the place for you. In the outdoor shopping area near the cashier, against the wall you will find "discounted" items where fruits and veggies are pre-bagged for quick sale. They're still in pretty good condition but will have to be consumed within a day or two. This place is CASH and does accept EBT cards.
