When all the other driving ranges or clubs in the area are either private or closed or too expensive, this facility is a true local legend! Always open, even in the rain or snow, year round, with heated overhead bays if you need - and real grass practice area, or even dedicated short game options as well, for serious practitioners during the season. None of the fancy clubs in the area can compare despite their pedigrees. Add to that an actually quality restaurant, pickle ball soon for the more recreational experience, and not even to mention the most friendly and supportive team of maintenance and operating personnel including the owner Jodi who is the very model of small business excellence, and no matter your appetite for activity, you can't go wrong here. I rarely leave reviews, or reviews this long, but I could go on for paragraphs about how truly invaluable a hub of passion and performance this place has been for me and innumerable other local very high level (but budgeted) golfers (all of whom, if you happen to be learning or improving, most likely are so friendly or kind that they'll probably give you free lessons while you're practicing if you ask). It's only a matter of time before the first famous PGA or Korn Ferry or just YouTube professional golfers arise from this place, one of the best kept (though maybe not anymore ha) golf secrets of all Central Connecticut, maybe the whole state. I saw some other folks mentioned a few topics to which I noticed the early lights out seem to have been fixed, and now are on motion detectors, so even if you're the only one there, they go on for the section of driving range you're using, and there seem to be totally new balls put into rotation last year - pretty awesome!

My evaluation session was impressive and I am looking forward to my future training/teaching and practice sessions. GolfTec offers the ability to view and record on video to help evaluate your swing while in training or during your practice. It is very helpful to be able to view your swing real-time and make changes to help improve. There is also an indoor putting green that is available. You want to improve, you should check it out. I tried out several clubs and irons. After an hour, many, many swings, and analysis of all. We were able to determine which clubs would suit me best. Where to begin?…read more Let's start with the process. Easy-peasy to use their scheduler, make a change in date. Done. Then the fitting itself. Connor Murray was assigned to me. The boy knows his stuff! Whether it was the latest equipment, using the Tracer to analyze my swing mechanics, or giving a couple of tips on swing path (without giving instruction, since he doesn't yet have his credential and I don't want to get him in trouble, haha), he knows what he's doing and talking about. And last, there's the Ethics and Integrity thing. After spending sufficient time watching me, Connor's suggestion was to work a bit on my swing and maybe take a couple of lessons, rather than buying expensive new equipment. He said he could sell me something, but Chris's (Cote, the owner, I presume) philosophy (and his, Connor's, as a credentialed PGM club fitter) is to only sell equipment if it's going to improve what's in the bag. Connor said the clubs I have are excellent, fitted to me, and there's no newer technology that he could sell me that would be an upgrade to what I already own. He gave me a big bucket of balls, his card, and the card of their head pro instructor with a suggestion to set up a couple of lessons. Call me jaded, but in an age where someone's always trying to sell me something I don't really need, this not only impressed me but has now turned me into a raving fan of his and Chris Cote's Golf!

Overall my experience was alright. They use 3Trak software for the launch monitor and system. It appears to be semi-accurate. Biggest issues I had was a ball that was perfectly still not moving would be registered as a hit. So good thing we had mulligans on to reset this or it would tank your score during a 9/18 hole play through. The only issue I had with the screen/ball net is there was a hole right in the center of the screen which also caused the screen to wrinkle up due to the hole. This should really be replaced. The overall cost is about the same for any other simulator in the area. 4/5

It is fun and challenging, not to mention very nicely maintained and an absolute bargain. If you play the blues it's still pretty tough for an average golfer (#3 plays ~200 yards for a par 3, for example). The namesake hill on #8 is downright nasty, and you have zero chance of getting on the green in 1 no matter how big a hitter you are so you have to lay up at the bottom of the hill and then rocket one up there to have a chance. I am a huge huge fan.

They also have mini golf for $12 which is a pretty good deal! There is a bunch of indoor and outdoor seating. And food trucks for lunch/dinner! Definitely a good spot for family and friends.
