The asparagus, the risotto, the pasta, the chicken were all absolutely superior. The stars were the appetizers, especially the kung pao fried Brussels, those are a meal by themselves, some of the best I've ever had! The fried burrata cheese, worth the drive to Wake Forest. Their Cherry cobbler one word: YUM! I didn't have high hopes because I absolutely love Mac and cheese and feel I make a pretty good one myself. I am new to the area and I haven't really found a restaurant that makes me excited until randomly coming across the Mac House. It was crowded and small, there was a long line and all the tables were full, we almost walked out but the smells kept me from leaving. I got the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, my boyfriend got jerk chicken and our friends got an original (cheddar) and a sandwich that I can't remember. We finally got a table and our food came, it did take a while, but we were not in rush and everyone was super nice and apologized. The portions were HUGE. I didn't think I was going to be able to finish. I was so full about half way though but I couldn't stop eating. It was the best Mac and cheese I have EVER eaten. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the buffalo sauce was amazing, I even tasted my boyfriends and I think that's what I'm going to get next time. The cheese sauce, oh that cheese sauce. I could taste parmesan, cream and butter. Oh the butter!! I think I could come back everyday and not be bored. I really want to try one of the salads, but like I said before... that CHEESE SAUCE!! I think I finally found that restaurant that excites me. They also said they have vegan and gluten free options. I am neither but I do have friends that are and finding a restaurant we can all eat at is so difficult.
