It was pretty busy and there seemed to only be one waitress for the entire place so it took awhile for someone to come over and greet us and bring menus. We have been here many times since my first review of the place, and not once have we been anything other than pleased with our visit. The food is always good. Service, even when they are busy, is also very good. Friendly. Really feel like they CARE here. Case in point...open on Christmas Day. Yep. That's care for the community. Same great menu with a nice variety. Great selection of brews on tap. The Brown Ale from Charlotte was one of the best we've ever had. Also tried their spinach dip for the first time and it was fantastic. The crispy bacon really made it special. Also finally tried their wings. Love that you can get them grilled. And let me tell you they are worth the 30 minute wait! They won't let you have two different sauces, but will let you mix a couple and I gotta say my creation of smoky bbq mixed with honey habanero is a real winner! Husband is a huge fan of their Chicago Beef Sandwich and onion rings. And the sides are always good. Loaded Baked Potato and Broccoli are two of my faves. Never have to worry about parking as it's in the Lowes Foods Shopping Center. Nice choice of seating...high top tables, lower ones plus bar seating. Plus a few games if you feel like playing. We ventured out to a different Pickled Onion since we really enjoy the one off of Capital Blvd. The atmosphere was low key and more chill. Several people were dining alone and seemed to be regulars. We ordered Fish Tacos and onion rings. I prefer the fish tacos at the other location and the onion rings were all clumped together making it hard to share them since they were all stuck together. Also the seating is mostly high tops with only a couple tables offered low top option. Some patrons were playing on gambling machines too. Overall it was ok but I much prefer the upbeat vibe of the other as well as the booth option too. read more

I was looking forward to eating at your location at Lafayette Village. In times past, I enjoyed the wings. I was in the restaurant tonight for the same. Service staff was great, and then.... Ordered an appetizer that came with chips. A very small amount, maybe a handful, of chips that I thought wouldn't last through the completion of the dip. I asked for a few more. When the bill arrived, there was a charge for the extra chips. I was astonished. The few extra, maybe another small handful was an extra charge! There was no warning that extra chips would be a charge. Then the bill came. There was an extra charge for using a debit/credit card! There was no warning about that either. I attempted to voice my concern on these two issues with the waitstaff (someone who hadn't taken the order), he clearly didn't/couldn't do anything about it. I asked for the the manager. Chase showed up. The real problem began. I advised that being charged extra for a handful of chips, without notice of extra charges, and no notice of a fee for using a credit/debit card was not agreeable, he rolled his eyes, (yes he did) and said that they had to cover their charges/costs. I advised him to not roll his eyes at me and suggested that without notice, the extra fees were not agreeable. He had no resolution or even an apology or "sorry." He started to walk away and I called after him saying I had another question. I asked for the owners name and contact info. He said he didn't have to give that to me. Wow! Then he walked away. No apologies. Just attitude. Upon leaving, I stopped at the bar and asked for your name. She was accommodating. Then I had to call to find a way to reach you. Bottom line, Chase was very rude and clearly has no respect for proper customer service. I don't think my suggestion for alerting a customer of extra charges was unreasonable. While I may not be able to share this horrible experience with all your r current patrons, I do know about the power of social media. Wouldn't your rather me share a positive experience and encourage visits to Pickled Onion? I know a couple people who are very disappointed. Great menu but very poor staffing in Chase. read more

Went here once. It was ok. I wasn't overly impressed by the food. It was average. I make really good burgers at home so burger places have to be exceptionally good to impress me. Not so here. Very much generic. Nothing stood out, no "wow, gotta come back". It was more of noisy sports bar atmosphere than we had expected. Not really that local pub feel. Anyway, service was ok - although we've had better. I can't drink much anymore due to certain meds, so I rarely order alcohol. This seems to be a negative for really good service at certain places. Obviously things like apps and drinks ramp up the tab so tips will be better. But then good attentive service will still get me to leave more than the basic. The pickled onion is a spacious restaurant with a bar and multiple TVs. There were multiple people dining at the restaurant during the week. I sat at the bar and ordered my food. The bartender was nice and became more talkative after I sat there for a while. I got an order of shrimp and fries. My food was brought to me quickly. Boy were we wrong! Waitress was "ok" though I question why she was comfortable bringing us onion rings that had been frozen, deep fried then cooked again. The burned side was turned done on the plate. Tasted one & it was awful. Why would she serve us this? The newest Pickled Onion pub located at Forestville crossing shopping center. We were lucky to be invited to the soft opening and the place is shiny new and the servers were fantastic! They work as a team so we were well taken care of! Special shout out to Nicole who was awesome! I ordered a Ninja turtle cocktail, made with Malibu rum, pineapple and lime. Was so good! Started with the lobster queso dip which comes with fresh tortilla chips. We loved it. Next I had a Caesar salad, bud shrimp tacos. They were supposed to be spicy but I didn't notice much spice with cilantro lime slaw. They sure don't skimp on the shrimp! Hubby enjoyed his meatball parm and fried pickle chips. I am so pleased that this location finally opened! I went in knowing that it would take a while to be seated and eat so I don't feel like the service was slow. They're brand new and the place was slammed! The food was great - I can always count on the Pickled Onion to cook my burgers perfectly! I don't have burgers often but when I do, it's important to me to have them not be overcooked. Service was great! The servers there work as a team and it is a good system. Place has gone downhill since it opened. Light crowd for a Monday. Sat at the bar. Couple of drunk guys seated a few seats down. Both dropping f-bombs left and right, which usually isn't a big deal, except for the fact that their volume was rather loud, and there was a family with young kids within earshot. I never been to pickled onion so I had to try it. It the beginning its kind of confusing because it seems like its closed from the outside!. Once we were in I liked the place, it was clean, cool and had 2 bars and several tvs, BUT there were only 2 employees working the entire FOH so it seems like the bartender had some mind of attitude which I really don't blame her because its a lot of work for only the employees. The food was delicious a hangover burger and spicy Mac&cheese, 2 beers and a soda, 54$ kind of price but ok. This place have so much potencial but its sad that the owners don't put enough staff to run the place properly and thats the exact reason why The Ale House on glenwood av. First I want to commend the restaurant for laying a sheet of foil in the takeout box so that my food isn't burning into the styrofoam and me eating the poison. I ordered a Philly chicken and Philly steak. Both were nice portion sizes and delicious. It came with mushroom, onions, and peppers. I wasn't thrilled with the chipotle Mayo in the sandwiches. We enjoyed a very full plate of delicious Thanksgiving lunch including: Turkey, Ham, Corn, Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, and Mashed Potatoes. Our server and the staff were helpful and outgoing. My husband enjoyed a Maple Waffle Cider to drink, and we got pecan pie to take home. I was previously a huge supporter of this tiny new gem.... Unsure if they're under new management but we've had a few issues in the last couple of weeks. One instance our food runner, who we believe was the manager, delivered food to our table - short one dinner plate. We asked about the missing wings. No response... so we thought he'd either put the order in or make another run with it up to us. After we all finished eating, the order was put in. No apology no rush on the food- nothing. Then we went on Christmas night. There was a wait. No big deal, we waited. We were told 30 min then loads of people came in after us. Some 4 tops, some 8's, etc. after checking with hostess multiple times, we waited 45 min, everyone physically ahead of us were sat. Hostess said the manager over there (points to same person missing the food previously) told her to seat everyone ahead of us.
