Definitely more a hole in the wall in terms of charm, but you'll have a good night there regardless.

For years, I had no issues--until one of the security guards, an older light-skinned man with dreadlocks who has worked there forever, began targeting me for no reason. On multiple occasions he acted aggressive and confrontational toward me, even though I never raised my voice or reacted negatively. The last incident was the worst. He disrespected me in a way no customer should ever experience, threatened to "f** me up,"* and had me banned despite the fact that I never did anything to him. His hostility seems to stem from the fact that he doesn't like someone I happen to associate with--someone who also never disrespected him. What makes this even more concerning is that the owner appears to allow this type of behavior. I've seen this guard act out for years, and instead of correcting it, it feels like it's been encouraged. Many people I know have had negative experiences at this bar, and some have even lost their lives due to the environment created when drug activity is allowed inside. I've spent thousands of dollars here over the last 17 years, and never have I been disrespected the way I was by someone who is supposed to ensure customer safety. I considered speaking to the owner directly, but based on what I've witnessed, I truly believe she condones this behavior from her staff. After nearly two decades of loyalty, I can confidently say I will never return.

The food at Sagra Italia was fresh and more interesting than almost any other Italian I've had in…read morethe Rochester area. The pasta la Limone was rich and creamy and just lemony enough. I was seriously impressed with the salad. It was VERY bright and acidic and had a fantastic lemon vinaigrette and was served with house made foccacia croutons and a lemon wedge. It was honestly THE most interesting and memorable green salad I've had in years. The La Bianca focaccia pizza was rich and indulgent with an amazing texture to the crust. The desert focaccia with blueberries wasn't as big of a hit. It was sweet but the firm texture of the item as served, cold, was more like crusty French bread with random blueberries in it rather than a desert. Unfortunately, our visit to Sagra Italia got off to a rough start. We walked in, saw a clearly placed 'please wait to be seated' sign and then proceeded to hang out at the table with the wait to be seated sign for SEVERAL minutes. I tried to make eye contact with the bartender and the person at the front counter but since they didn't engage I assumed that there was in fact a host or hostess who would come to seat us. I eventually went to the front counter and said we'd been waiting to be seated for a few minutes and the person said that being seated was only for Friday and Saturday nights. I was crabby and said they should take the wait to be seated sign down. There is ALSO a sign saying to order at the front counter on the same table but we didn't read that one once we saw the wait to be seated sign. Despite that start, the rest of our interactions with the front counter person were good.

There is a full bar and a nice menu of Italian favorites. I had the pasta al funghi, which was delicious, if not a huge portion. My husband had the eggplant cutlet sandwich. We took a la bianca pizza to go (white pizza with roasted greens and ricotta) and that was excellent. I'm glad this location was utilized after losing Fifth Frame. I will return to try other dishes! Parking is street or valet on Fri/Sat.

If you're looking for a unique and fun dinner/bar in Rochester for a date night or group event…read more... This is PERFECT. It's almost like a speakeasy, where the front is set up like a travel agency and once you're checked in you get transported into this hidden gem tiki bar!! The food was delicious! I came here with my bf and friends. They were able to accommodate our allergies as well (I'm gluten free and my bf can't have dairy, eggs, nuts, fish, and they were still able to give him lots of food!). They had lots of fun drinks on the menu too. Definitely coming back here!

The outside is decorated as a travel agency and the host walks you in. Our server was friendly and answered our questions about the drinks and food. Their menu is a "sharing menu". I will say that I think the best value are their family style platters. We tried the Mahalo pork which was good. Likely enough for 2-3 people. The Duck Spring Rolls were good but I didn't ask how many came in an order. It's 2 rolls for $18, which is not a great value. The Yaki Skewers were good. We got the shoyu chicken but again it's $15 for 3 skewers so not a great value. Drinks average $18 but they were good and came with fun umbrellas etc. Overall we'd return for drinks and maybe the pork platter. 4 stars for service and theme but 3 stars for overall value. They are right next to the paid lot and do validate but be aware you can get towed if the validation doesn't process for some reason. Yes, we've seen it happen
