Awesome place, stopped there after biking the hop river bike trail. They have everything from gourmet organic salads to lobster rolls to sandwiches. Visited here for the first time today. Very fun atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Family friendly with games outside available to play like giant connect four and corn hole. Food was prepared nicely and prices are very reasonable. Staff clears the tables once you leave and wipe down the table and chairs. Great place! read more

Very disappointed. We have been watching the major renovations going on at this location and looking forward to its opening. Yesterday stopped in for first time and extremely disappointed. I had fish & chips that were very much over cooked and extremely rubbery. wife had whole belly clam dinner. there was only 5 clams ($18.00) and the oil was pooled under them and they were over cooked as well. $45.00 for sparse portions and poorly prepared is not what we were looking for. fries were good and the grounds are very nice. read more

We came during their very first week of being open but you would never know it was their first week! The place was packed but the wait wasn't too long. We all enjoyed lobster rolls which were filled to the brim with sweet lobster meat. The French fries were delicious and the ice cream for dessert was the perfect end to a great meal. The Main Moose is basically an updated modern take on the old food stand that used to be there. The food was excellent and their menu was very extensive. They also had a specials board and a multitude of ice cream options hard and soft. There is games on one side of the building and tons of seating. The Main Moose is entirely outdoor seating meaning it probably will not be open all year around. It looked like they were starting to build a river walk but I could not tell it that was done being built yet. I was also very excited to see that they sold Hosmier soda. Overall this place is a very nice touch to the area and it seems that business is booming! Can't wait to come back and try some more food! read more

Fantastic food and service!!! Great restaurant, very friendly service... the fried scallops rocked, the lobster rolls (both the hot and the cold) were fabulous, but the loaded mac'n'cheese with bacon and lobster was the greatest!!! I will drive back down here again many times... While waited we played corn joke... the landscaping and pergola are gorgeous... ample parking and it looks like they will add a walk down to the river... awesome!!! read more

Large portions for reasonable prices, CHECK. Cornhole and things to keep the kids occupied while they wait for food, CHECK. Great scenery, CHECK. Ok ok, but you want to know about the food. Very good. Your basic hamburgers, hot dogs, BLT, etc. The things we had were all quite good (crisp fries, tasty burger etc). Much better than the greasy food you find at places like this sometimes. Tried out the Main Moose for an early dinner. I had the steak bomb off the special's board. I really liked the moose sauce. Hubby tried the pastrami Ruben. Generous portions for both. Great French fries! The staff was pleasant & I LOVED the moose theme. It's a super cute outdoor spot to enjoy some ice cream or some tasty food. We will definitely be back to try more items off the menu. I also like that it's dog friendly for leashed dogs. read more

I know that most people love this place, but I was very disappointed with the food. I had the beef brisket which I found very greasy, I was unable to finish it. I also ordered the buffalo cauliflower bites, which were equally as greasy and over fried. I will however say that the ice cream was very good as was the service. read more

The view is nice, love the outdoor seating. Unfortunately the food was meh. It was my first time here, and I heard they had Del's lemonade. There was no lemonade listed on their menu, so I didn't realize you had to specify what type of lemonade upon ordering. When my meal was ready, I was very disappointed to find out I was given Minute Maid lemonade (which I hate because it tastes like pee to me) but I was so thirsty from the heat I drank it. Another person at my table ordered this strawberry lemonade which looked delicious and refreshing. Huge disappointment that the lemonade options were not listed. I ordered onion rings but was given fries so they fixed it and the onion rings came out when everyone else's meals were ready. They were soggy, sweet, and when you bit into them, all this greasy juice came out so I should've just stuck to the fries. My BLT was fine. My niece ordered a lobster roll. It looked delicious & was a great portion size but sadly she said it was not very good. I probably will not be returning for food. Maybe to try their strawberry lemonade or ice cream. read more

Went with my family for the first time, as we always drive by and have heard good things. They did not know what kind of batter their onion rings were and they were clearly frozen and unseasoned. I got the clam strips and they were greasy and the rest of my family's fried food tasted of fried fish so it's my assumption that it's got to all be fried together. We also got the meatball sandwich on ciabatta and the bread was burnt, it was it was minced meatball in sauce with more sauce than meat. We needed salt and pepper on everything and they were pretty stingy with handing out packets of condiments. For 4 people, spending over $60 on meals and we were all underwhelmed and quite disappointed that we could have gotten food from our local pizza joint for half the price and much better quality. Will not be coming back. read more

Fried clams, although a small order which would be fine but, rubbery, dirty oil, and all stuck together like a kid attempted to cook them. (Btw did I mention its all giggly kids running it?) Onion rings? Dark, dirty and greasy and that is exactly what they tasted like. Very disappointed. The owner and management better do something quick. This place is so nice on the outside the location is great the decor is amazing the bathroom clean and new. The food however was average ok and places that have ice cream bars I would hope they would have local creamery ice cream not Hershey brand. The French fries are those seasoned coated ones. Only come here if you want to have amazing claim strips, amazing fish sandwiches, delicious lobster rolls, in a beautiful outdoor setting. From the wood carved bears to the newly planted evergreen trees, to the amazing wood work done on the covered porches, and eating areas....this place screams "we are on summer vacation!" As a nurse it's great to see truly accessible handicap parking and tables that easily accommodate wheelchairs. Bathroom is HUGE and CLEAN with modern faucets and hand dryers. Very easy for someone in a wheelchair to use with great railing placements and safety pull down bar. Outdoor tables are large with extremely comfortable large sturdy chairs to accommodate adults of all sizes. They are building a walking trail to Hop River so bring your dog! Motorcycle friendly and small child friendly also. Rail trail bikers and hikers can sneak over also easily. The seating in the back removes you from route 6. Or sit in front and watch the folks taking their Sunday cruises in their classic cars. They have a separate ice cream window as well! Blizzards, sundaes, soft serve. (Soft serve we had was rocking!). I would say it's comparable to Harry's Place but with a classier Feel...like it says...I thought I was up north in Maine or New Hampshire by the Lakes! I can't wait for the website to be updated so we can read the story behind this place opening and find out about the owners! I overheard they are local from Columbia. Good future location even for small weddings or parties. Congrats to the owners who poured tons of work into this place! They take cards or cash as well. If you like to sit outside on a nice day and check out bikes coming in, classic cars and interesting vehicles, which we do, this is a fun place to linger and eat. My 1st time there I had a hot lobster roll to go, since only live a few minutes away. I was not satisfied. There was no flavor at all. Every bite didn't taste like I wanted to continue. So I threw it away. The coleslaw wasn't any better. But the fries was worth eating. I will try going again, but I'll have something else. read more

Just ate dinner here! Wow! The food was great! It is ALL FRESH AND HOMEMADE! Eating al fresco, Dogs welcome. The French Fries are perfection! Talking with the owners, they have very high standards. Fries taste like fries; not fish! Meatballs, Mac and Cheese etc are all HOMEMADE and you can taste the difference. Toughest part about it was deciding what to get. There's so much to choose from. We ended up with the steak bomb, meatball grinder and Mac and cheese....all were excellent choices....Then we saw the HAMBURGERS! HUGE! College guys chowing down on some. Lots of smiles and they stopped talking. Definitely going to try some soon. Took half my dinner home and still couldn't get ice cream ..too full! Giant Jenga and corn hole while you wait. I go here multiple times a week. The service is fast, and the food is fantastic. I got the chili bull dog the first time I went there (1/4lb of beef and pork) and it was one if the best chili dogs I've ever had. Since then I've tried the burgers and the steak sandwich. Both are excellent. The veggies are always fresh and the fries are the perfect level of crispiness. The owner said he's building a dog park in the back as well. All around great restaurant. The bad reviews seem to mostly stem from people trying to order clams and stuff like that. This is a burger place, not Abbot's. Get a cheeseburger. read more

This is an outstanding experience. The lobster rolls are outstanding and fairly priced especially when compared to the best restaurants in a 50 mile radius. It is working to become a "destination" and so far they are doing just that. When you are there take the time to look at the possibilities in this site. We just left the restaurant. It was very crowded, with the parking lot almost full. We ordered Hot Lobster roll and a belly clam plate, both came with sweet potato fries (ask for them), and cole slaw. The amount of lobster was as good or better than served at Lenny & Joes Fish Tail. The price for the fresh seafood was equivalent. The belly clams were small and cooked perfectly. There were almost too many to eat. Sweet potato fries were great. The woman in front of us said it was her 3rd visit, I can see us doing quite a few visits. Finally, we have a restaurant off Route 66 that I would take my friends to.
