Could have been a five star if not for the angry cook. Food was honestly delicious. I would eat here regularly if I lived close by. I placed a large online group order mid-day on a Saturday. When I walked in 40 minutes later (on time per the order confirmation), I walked up to the pickup window where I was asked for the name on the order. When I gave them the name, the cook started yelling from the griddle that she needed more time and that I shouldn't be asking for my order yet. I explained that I had just given my name when asked and expected to wait. She spent the next twenty minutes complaining about being too busy and dealing with impatient customers. Too bad, could have been a perfect experience. Over a 70 minute wait for an 8 person order mid-day on a quiet Saturday indicates they have a logistics problem. My friend and I stopped by Jefferson Fry for a quick and easy lunch. I've previously been to their Canton location, and their dirty fries are scrumptiously good! They also have some less guilty options. We each got their Grilled Chicken Bowl. The inside walls are orange with plenty of available booth seating. They have the soda machine where you may refill your cup on your own. This location is open till 2:00 AM on certain nights to potentially feed the hungry students of the neighboring UCONN. After we placed our orders, we were told to sit down, and they would bring them to us. After a very short wait of under 10 minutes the bowls were brought out to us. These bowls were small, there was lettuce, and chopped grilled chicken, the tomatoes and the pickles were few and far in between. As far as fast food goes, this bowl is a decent option if you're not super hungry, otherwise it won't hold you over for long. read more

I was really looking forward to trying Jefferson Fry, but this was honestly a frustrating experience from start to finish. I waited about 20 minutes and noticed a bag sitting on the counter that looked like it could be mine. I asked and was told it wasn't. Fast forward another 25 minutes, and they finally call my name and hand me the same exact bag that had been sitting there the whole time. I got home and the food was completely cold and soggy, which makes sense because it had clearly just been sitting out. I called to ask for a refund or at least some sort of fix, and they basically told me there was nothing they could do. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this was really disappointing. If I'm waiting nearly 45 minutes for food, the absolute bare minimum is that it's warm and fresh and customer service would've gone a long way here. Not planning to come back anytime soon. read more

Experience: I made my way to Jefferson Fry Co. because the Trophy Room at the Graduate Hotel is apparently closed on Sundays, and I was looking to get some semblance of what I had been looking forward to (the Trophy Room smash burger). The cashier told me the JFC burger is very popular (although she had not tried it herself), so I ordered that. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the different ingredients-- onions, double beef patties, plain fries, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and special sauce married perfectly, forming a marvelous alchemy of flavors and textures. I was glad that I thought to dine at the hotel's temporarily vacated Trophy Room, as the Jefferson Fry Co.'s fluorescent lit, television-flickering, music-blaring, crammed interior with busy, centrally located open kitchen was not befitting of savoring the $11.99 burger. (Other locations have more attractive designs.) Tip: A rotation of fries with different toppings is available for free each Friday with purchase of an entree. This was my 2nd time eating here. The 1st time I had a delicious burger with chili fries. This time I had delicious tenders with plain fries. Next time I'll try one of their hot dogs or pulled pork. Good fast food but not really that fast. The Thai fries were very tasty, however, they needed to be fried quite a bit more. More peanut sauce please, as well. The portobello mushroom sandwich again was good, but it was such a thin slice that you could hardly taste anything but the very crispy coating. Again, more of the garlic aioli promised on the menu. After a late night all I wanted was a burger and fries! There are many fry combinations to try. We went with the BBQ fries. They are thick cut fries topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce and some cole slaw. It sounded amazing but was not as full of flavor as you'd expect. I ordered a single original burger and my son got the double fry cheeseburger. He was very happy with his burger. Mine was served without mayo or ketchup and came with one pickle slice. I had to ask them to put on the condiments and they did, but barely. The vibe was cool. It is a fast food place but there were televisions around the space playing the formula one race. Overall I really love their fries but I feel a little ripped off with my go-to order. THE FOOD: -fresh. Cut. Fries. LOVE THEM! They are delicious and the perfect amount of crispy on the outside and not dried out on the inside. -my usual order is the regular fries, creole style, with garlic aioli sauce. The creole is my favorite seasoning to add to fries. I am a ketchup hater so usually I get cheese at other places but the garlic aioli is next level. -Cons: the garlic sauce is a "special" sauce which the online menu says is a 50cent additional cost. When I placed my order they charged $1 extra so I figured it would be 2 containers of the side sauce which would be perfect (considering side salad dressing type of containers). Unfortunately when I got home with my order I saw the TEENIEST, TINIEST side of sauce I have ever seen. I didn't even know plastic containers came that small. I am not someone who uses a lot of sauce per dip and it was still enough for about 1/4 of the container of fries. If you are a heavy sauce person I wish you the best of luck! You'll get about 4 fries worth of dipping. See my image for reference, it was the size of my thumb knuckle. -additionally, when I placed my online order I un-checked the box that said salt and checked the creole but my fries were extremely salty so it seems like it was salt + creole, not just creole seasoning. THE ATMOSPHERE -the Storrs location is new and fully renovated. I really like the colors and feel of it. -one down side are the seats in the corner along Dog Lane are awkwardly close to where people need to stand to fill their fountain drink THE STAFF -the times I've been in there it was the same cashier and they were very friendly and helpful! -I did ask for a fork since I planned to eat a little on the go and was told there was one in the bag, so I left. But there was not a fork in the bag unfortunately. Overall, I really like this restaurant but hope they will start providing a reasonable amount of sauce to go with their fries. Just got my chocolate milkshake, and I'm impressed so far. Taste like a looser version of a McDonald's milkshake. Service took about 5 minutes, which wasn't too bad. Food came after about 15 minutes, but it's nice and fresh. Bbq fries were about a 6.5/10, nothing special. Classic cheeseburger was smaller than I expected, but the taste is there (7/10) read more

Unfortunately not a great experience. We ordered 4 sandwiches through their website. -One of them we received correctly. -Two we asked for cheese but there was no cheese. This wouldn't really have been a big deal, but we paid extra for it. -One sandwich had pickles when we asked for not. (Again not a huge deal but given all the other issues with our order, it was annoying) -One sandwich was missing completely. We understand how crazy food service can be, but we cannot get a hold of anyone to help us. They don't have voicemail set up and we called several times the night we ordered and no one's answered. We even called Door dash who we ordered the food through to help but they were also unable to get in touch with them. The phone just rings and no one picks up. We'll try again tomorrow to get a refund and I'll update my review accordingly. UPDATE: We were able to get in touch with someone the following morning. They were very helpful and understanding and fully refunded our order. We really appreciated the help they gave us - we just wish we had been able to contact someone the same day of service. read more

Total cost was about $17.50, a tad expensive for what it was, but it's not cheap to properly run a restaurant today. The overall food is chiefs kiss, the dirty fries are a rock solid effort compared to a majority of the food offered, within the northeast part of CT. the Serving size is a belly buster for the price. Good food a little cheap with the fries but it was good they did not mix the taco fries and there was layers and clumps of ingredients. The service was fast the restaurant was also clean the bathrooms were also clean. The music was however distracting and deafening . I got our food to go and it was excellent .
