The food is really good here. I cannot speak to authenticity because I am not of that culture, but I have tried Indian food before in several places and this is one of the best. I do feel the prices are kinda high for what you get though. Employees are all helpful and friendly, working hard and doing a great job. The inside is really disappointing though. This was our first time to the valley location.Food was awesome. Super yummy. We went in for restaurant week. Every course was delicious and I felt like there was also good variety. Place was empty when we arrived. Very open and spacious. The reason it gets two stars is we just had bad service. She rarely came to our table and the food took forever. We gave ourselves a good 90 minutes of time but in the end had to take our third course to go because we waited so long for the first one to come out. Tonight my friend and I tried another Indian restaurant in the area. This time we tried The Mango Tree - Spokane Valley. Now I can say I have been to every Indian restaurant (by name) in the area. We started with some drinks, Indian Margarita (didn't know it was a thing) and a Prickly Flower Martini. Both were great and something I haven't had anywhere else. I didn't even know there was such a thing as an Indian Margarita.... But it's definitely worth a try! My friend also got to try a Mango Lasse. It was her first time trying it, and it was yummy. Next course was Veggie Pakoras, they were great and (surprisingly) also came with a house salad. In the restaurant we went with grilled entrees. I ordered their fish and my friend the shrimp. These entrees came with basmati rice, and a really fresh tasting house salad. Not sure what dressing they used, but it was light and wonderful. As for the grilled entrees, the amount of protein was great, the seasoning that was sprinkled over the protein was (in our opinion) a little on the salty side. We loaded up on to-go food though. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala (two different spice levels) and after asking another friend what her favorite was, I ordered the Mango Curry (with chicken) to go as well. With the curry bowls we were also able to get an order of garlic naan for each bowl. That's a great savings!! We had a great visit, great food, and our server was fantastic! The restaurant was clean, and fairly empty. I did stop at Top of India on the way home for some extra hot Rogan Josh (it's not on the menu at the Mango Tree) and Raita. This place was delicious! The ambiance is a little off. Still very "bar" like with a ton of high tables and chairs. The service was great! The server was so helpful and answered all my million questions with pleasure! The food is on point! The SAMOSA (2) savory fried pastries stuffed with veggies + spice, they are delicious and come with two sauces. One is more a sweet chutney sauce and one is green with more spice. The butter chicken is phenomenal! The TIKKA MASALA is amazing as well. All the flavors are on point and you can pick your spice level from 0-5! The Naan is warm and soft and tasty! I have been to this location a couple of times and the service has been hit or miss. But this time, the service and food were excellent. We ordered the chicken tikka masala to share with a side of garlic naan and an extra side of rice as we were sharing. The chicken tikka had a perfect portion of meat and the sauce was so luscious and I love the addition of the ginger. It added a nice freshness to the dish. Been going here (and the original downtown location) for years! Easily drop $130+ every time I take my family here , we love their curry and appetizer platter. However , tonight after waiting 18 minutes for our order to be taken, we had to walk out. My 9 year old daughter started crying as we had to leave because she loves the food so much. They didn't even take our drink order and the place wasn't THAT busy considering it was 530pm. This location really needs to take a hard look at their servers capabilities and maybe hire more help or something. Really left a bitter taste in our mouths. So disappointing. read more

It was weird because other customers were brought to their table with menu. They got drinks right away. After ordering food, she never came to check on us. She was busy chatting with other customers. I recently tried the Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. Both dishes were far too sweet for my taste, which really overpowered the rich, savory flavors I usually love in these dishes. It lacked the balance of spices that make these meals so enjoyable. While it wasn't the worst I've had, it certainly didn't meet my expectations. Not a place I would revisit for these dishes. The service sucked we arrived at 6:45 and did not get our meals until almost 8pm. When your Tiki Masala tastes the same as Butter Chicken we've got a problem! I know my curry and this was not ok! Pretty good for Spokane Went here on a Monday night with 10 other women. Some of them had never had Indian before. I don't think any of us were disappointed. The waiter was great . Food came pretty quickly with plenty of naan. Could use a little bit bigger portion of rice. The ratio of curry to rice is a little off for me. The food was delicious but the service was really bad. We went today and hope they can improve their service for other people. I was super hungry at 5pm but my pregnant wife was not feeling great. She has been choosing restaurants lately so she let me choose this one even though it didn't sound great to her. She ordered samosas and the waiter questioned why she was not ordering more food. She told him she wasn't very hungry but he kept saying it was not enough to just get the samosa's. So she caved and ordered mango rice. He did not write any of this down. I ordered Palak Paneer and said the rice that was part of my meal could just be for my wife- who didn't even really want the rice anyways. He asked me what kind of Naan I wanted, and I said I did not want any. This made him upset, he asked how I would eat. I said I knew it is weird to have it without bread or rice but I would eat it with a spoon. I feel like if I am going to pay full price I should be able to order it how I want to. The whole exchange was very uncomfortable. He thought I didn't understand what naan was and began explaining everything, though I said I understood. I finally said to just bring plain naan. He got most of our order wrong because he was not listening and was too busy interrogating us, we went back and forth for awhile till he wrote down our order correctly. I have been a server and I know it can be really difficult, I was trying to stay polite but it was very frustrating to be treated this way. He avoided us until he brought the check and asked my wife why she ordered mango rice if she was not going to eat it. She explained again that she was not very hungry. Really good Indian food. The non-is drier than I would like, but very few Indian restaurants, make it moist and soft. We tried the curry, the vindaloo, Latika masala, and several others over multiple trips. The restaurant is fairly quiet which I enjoy, but not dead silent. The people here are very kind. Probably the biggest downside is that they do not answer the phone so it is difficult to order takeout without coming to the restaurant. This is a regular favorite place for us. read more

Each dish we have ordered here has been amazing! The veggie kofta in particular is incredible, and that's what we will be coming back for.

Update 1/30/24: we tried to give this location a try one more time. Unfortunately, it was a miss again. The butter chicken had decent flavor but the sauce was super thin and greasy. Additionally, one chunk of chicken was so hard I could barely get a fork in it. The samosas were good albeit quite greasy as well. read more

I'll be honest this place is the first time I've ever had Indian food! What have I been missing? ‍We've been there probably 5 times now and it's so bursting with flavor! We love the Mango Chicken with Garlic Nan. The rice is fragrant light and fluff, the Nan was soft yet had a slight chew (which I like) and it's moist and full of flavor. That Mango curry... my mouth is watering thinking about it... So good!! Our service has always been spot on, food comes out perfect timing. We love it! So, this isn't a complaint but I don't love the old "Ref" feel sports bar look. I wish it was as nice as the South Hill location. But, it doesn't deter me from going back again and again! read more

We normally order The Mango Tree from south hill or downtown Spokane but now we live in the valley and decided to try the new Mango Tree since we've always had good experiences. This place was so good!! The waitress was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We had the butter chicken, coconut chicken, beef curry, garlic naan and coconut naan. It was all 10/10....hot, fresh and flavorful. My son has had a lot more Indian food than me, and he wanted to see how it compared to his #1 spot where he lives in Fairbanks, AK. At 2:30 PM, The place was empty, the waitress was helpful in going over the menu and recommended two of the most expensive items on the menu. I ordered the Mango Chicken salad. 30 minutes later she delivered a salad with about a cup of mango, chicken, and pistachios Over bagged lettuce. The chicken and mangoes tasted fairly good, but the nuts were hard and lacked flavor. 20 minutes after she delivered the naan, which would have been good with the salad. Seated at 7:40, dinner was not served until 8:40. When we asked at 8:20 she said "did you know that we have a private party for 80 people in the back? Love the food. The Mango grilled chicken was tender and flavorful. The Mango basmati rice could be eaten day or night. And the Mango lassie was so delicious and great to coat the tongue when tasting a 4-star dish. I love all things mango! Timing was perfect; was seated immediately and served within 15 min. We had an early dinner at 5:15. Wanted to take a photo, but my son said he'd leave if I did! Wait staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return. Parking is free!
