We really like this place a lot. It's close to our house but we would drive across town for the flavor. Always ask for extra protein. Otherwise it's excellent Indian food in North Idaho.

    Nice deck out back...

Brilliant. This is a gateway drug for folks who may have not tried Indian cuisine. It's affordable, for what you get. I firmly believe the owner/chef/his family nails it for trying to survive in today's world. They run the convenience store; the food trailer; gas pumps; have a nice outdoor deck for sitting; heck, maybe even the coffee shop in front. They seem to be doing well, and their Indian fare is better than decent. You might become a vegetarian if you had their Saag, mixed with rice and scooped up with Garlic Naan. Jus' sayin'...

Best food truck at Prairie Pavillion! Whatever you order, make sure you get a side of garlic naan with it. The chicken palak is amazing!

Our host was the chef and also the server He actually did a good job. Beside not really talking to us, he wasn't too delayed with the service The food was "Eh" The pita was more of a thin bread... kinda had a chemically taste to them The basmati rice was almost flavorless beside that chemical taste again. Large portions ... but large portions of "eh" food didn't seem like a plus at the end of the day Eggplant curry was ok... Chicken kabob was better than ok.. chicken was a little dry Friends at the table ordered the qorma-sabzi... this was actually the highlight of the meal. Was super flavorful .. was glad the portion was on the larger side We sat in the private booth, where you sit with your legs under the table to give you the middle eastern vibe like your sitting on the floor That was actually pretty cool. Our group of 10 had a great time together, because everyone was pretty cool... unfortunately the food was not The vibe was cool, was impressed with the 1 guy running the restaurant, but the food was not up to par. Ive read every single review until now and the majority of the are stellar. I will chalk them up to having a simple pallet that is easily satisfied. Unfortunately I've had the opportunity to travel and have authentic ethnic foods so my standards are very high this ranks at the bottom of all the Mediterranean I've ever eaten. Ambiance and atmosphere was 5 stars Service was 3.7 Food was ... well just say we fed all the left overs to the chickens a couple days later as reality sunk in and we realized we wouldn't be warming up that food again ..

I hardly run into Afghan restaurants, so I was really excited to try this place. We came here for lunch. It wasn't very busy. I saw a few families come in, so this place is great for big groups. I ordered the Manto and my husband ordered the eggplant curry. I've had afghan manto before as an appetizer, but never as an entree. The portions were huge, and each dish were large enough for two people to share. I don't know what kind of sauces are included with these dishes, but they're so delicious. I also like the yogurt sauce that it came with. The dishes were already good by itself, but the yogurt sauce made it a lot better. I'd like to try other things next time, but you can't go wrong with the manto and eggplant curry!

We ate at the Athol location (they also have locations in Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint), and after this experience, we'll definitely be back. The service was AMAZING. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and they answered all of our questions without making us feel rushed. We ordered the Tandoori Chicken (even my picky eater loved it!), Butter Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, and Shrimp Coconut Curry -- which was our absolute favorite. Every entrée came with rice, and we also got Garlic Naan, Lachha Paratha, and Bhature (fried bread). The Bhature was so good we ordered a second round. If you're sensitive to spice like me, I'd suggest mild. My husband loves spice and ordered medium, which was a little more than I could handle... but it was so good I powered through anyway For dessert we tried the Mango Rice and Gulab Jamun, and both were delicious. The Mango Rice wasn't what we expected (we were thinking more like Thai mango sticky rice), but it was still really good. There was also a little game room area that my husband and kids loved with a pool table, air hockey, and foosball, which made the whole experience even more fun. Athol doesn't have a lot of later dinner/takeout options, so this is definitely becoming our new go-to spot. I'm honestly sad I didn't take pictures because I wasn't expecting to be this amazed... and again, I NEVER leave reviews

It's time for our annual trip to Spokane for my wife's immersion and if you follow my reviews at…read moreall, you know that my job on vacation is to coordinate the food. After a recommendation from one of my wife's classmates, I took myself on a lunch date to Indicana, and I'm honestly convinced that Spokane is a foodie dream after this meal. I have been wanting to try Indicana for lunch all week, but they only serve lunch on specific days. I did a walk-in at lunch and did not need a reservation (however I cannot say the same for dinner, we went back this evening so that my wife could try the mango lassi and people were piling in). The restaurant is stunning with warm hues of earth tones and deep, rich dark blue that pulls it all together. The music is loud enough that you can hear it, but light enough that you can still hear yourself talk, which I appreciated. Every member of staff I encountered was incredibly kind and I think I ended up sitting next to the owner or a manager who was at the bar near my table - she was so sweet and had no problem jumping in to help when needed. The lunch menu and dinner menu differ, so it's important to note if you're interested in trying anything from my review. I ordered the Pork Vindaloo tacos with naan, tandoori slaw with a side of jeera rice and dal along with a Mango lassi. Everything, and I do mean everything was delicious.   Pork Vindaloo Tacos on Naan - 10/10 every single bite was flavorful. The naan had a crispy yet softness to it, the pork vindaloo created a juice that brought together all of the flavors and then I followed it up with a bite of tandoor slaw, and it was so good. The cheese did not overpower the meal and really sealed it all together. Jeera Rice and Dal - 8/10 I wanted a bit more flavor in the Dal, but with this being my first experience with Dal, I'm not sure how flavorful it should have been. Overall, it was still delicious and fresh. I found myself taking bites of it and the jeera rice between bites of the tacos. The entire meal was very filling, but not in an overly full kind of way. Mango Lassi - 11/10 and I mean it! You should know I mean it because I my wife and I came back later in the evening (as I mentioned above) to get more. It is velvety smooth with a hint of warmth after each sip. The taste is absolutely delicious and so refreshing. I can understand why Indicana is so busy, and the reservations are needed. This will definitely be added to our Spokane list of places to visit and recommend.

To start we booked a reservation so we could arrive during a time that worked for us. When we arrived at our reservation time we were instantly greeted by Jacob. He was friendly, warm, and really helpful with explaining the menu. The restaurant inside was intimate, but they shared they also had a patio. We had researched the menu before our reservation so we knew exactly what we wanted. We ordered the Pollo Asado, the Mango Chicken Enchiladas, and the Curry Rip and Dip for appetizer. To start, the Curry Rip and Dip was OUTSTANDING!!! The curry was rich, creamy, and had a hint of sweetness. The flaky flatbread parathas were were light, buttery, and paired well with the curry dip. I wish there was a dish that was bathed in this curry sauce. So good. The Pollo Asado was freshly grilled and came with a fresh corn salad and a bright cilantro sauce. The rice was fluffy and the lime brought everything to life! The Mango Enchiladas were saucy and filled with chicken. The cabbage slaw provides freshness and crunch, and the plate came with a generous helping. This was such a great experience overal. We cant wait to come back and try other items, but we will be sure to always order the Curry Rip and Dip!

Pros- the veggie pakoras were good, the portions were good and the butter chicken was ok (I've had better at previous visits but this wasn't bad) Cons- Firstly there was stuff floating in both of our water glasses, both of our plates were dirty. She did bring us new ones but yuck. The garlic naan had no garlic and was completely flat and burnt. When the server asked if everything was ok and I mentioned that I'd never seen naan like this before she seemed baffled, she seemed like she might have even been the owner...I would have thought that she would know what naan is supposed to look like...She did bring a new smaller order but it was the exact same ‍ We didn't eat any of it beyond a couple bites but were charged all the same. When ringing us up she said they got new flour and he was having trouble baking with it...? You can see in the pic what I'm talking about. The chicken wasn't as good a quality as in previous visits. Mine was fatty and my moms had a big bone in one chunk. Overall for nearly $60 and all of the other times it's been disappointing we're throwing in the towel.
