(We ordered it with a 3 spice level (out of 5), which was about as hot as I would want to go, but not to the point where you lose the flavor). Might try a 2 the next time. We tried their garlic chili naan, which was very good, but next time I'll do the garlic naan or butter naan, because that chili heat combined with the already spicy food was bit more than I wanted. Brilliant. This is a gateway drug for folks who may have not tried Indian cuisine. It's affordable, for what you get. I firmly believe the owner/chef/his family nails it for trying to survive in today's world. They run the convenience store; the food trailer; gas pumps; have a nice outdoor deck for sitting; heck, maybe even the coffee shop in front. Excellent Indian and such a pleasant surprise to find in CDA. We eat a lot of Indian here in Seattle/Bellevue and this place was just as great as what we get around here. The waitress was so patient with just the right amount of attentiveness. Had a very well made mango lassi, the lamb rogan josh and the roasted eggplant. It's not super easy to find Indian food in this area, but this place is great. Tandoori grill has become my go to comfort food when I don't feel like cooking. The food is very tasty and the prices feel very reasonable when you realize the amount of food you get from one entree is easily enough for two separate meals. I usually get lamb curry with naan for dinner, then have the leftovers for lunch the next day and it always hits. Friendly people too, they noticed I'd been coming in relatively frequently and I got some free dessert which was a super nice gesture, though I'd never expect free food. This food truck, called Tandoori Grill, off of Government Way, is such a diamond in a surprising location!!! The Tikka Masala (Lamb) is so rich and vibrant tasting. But the Garbanzos ignite my palate, too! I feel alive after enjoying the very authentic spices and flavors of India. When I bring the food back to the office, everyone wants to know what delicious morsels of goodness I have curated. My coworkers want to know where to get the goods! It was serendipity. I had just told my wife a few days earlier that it had been a long time since I had good Tandoori chicken when, while driving down Hwy 95, I saw a sign advertising, "Tandoori Grill" and the address. We were on our way to eat Chinese food until I proclaimed the signs message. So we followed the GPS map there, almost missing it, as it's a food truck behind a gas station. We were like, "Where's the Tandoori!" So glad we found it. The price looked steep for a food truck, $15 for a serving, but we ordered two servings anyway. As I carried the big foil tin to the outdoor patio, my wife asked, "what is that?" "That's our order." It was huge! Between the three of us, our son was there too, we had a lot left over from those two orders. But even better than huge, the chicken was fantastic! Very moist, spicy, and overall delicious. None of us disagreed that it was the best chicken in Northern Idaho. We also ordered garlic naan and Mango lassie. They both tasted great, although we've had better garlic naan at the other two Indian restaurants in the area. So they could work on that. Otherwise, we are super happy to have found this place. I cannot believe we have this fabulous restaurant in Athol! We ate there for the first time this week and we will be going back often. Delicious food, good price and the staff is so delightful. If you don't like real spicy curry, make sure to ask for light. My chicken curry was wonderful and they did perfect by me since I said that I don't like really hot spicy food. Enjoyed a fabulous "to go" lunch today. We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Palak Paneer: each generous portion included an equally generous portion of Basmati Rice. All 3 dishes were the best versions of themselves: richly spiced and well seasoned, the chicken was moist and well cooked and the paneer was flavorful and had the right texture. Service was cheerful and courteous. The dishes were prepared to order so there was a bit of a well-worth-it wait. Although we took ours to go there is a lovely, clean outdoor seating area. The food truck is (for me at least) hard to see from the road, but totally and completely worth slowing down and pulling in. This is definitely the best Indian cuisine I've had in the CDA-Spokane area. We'll be back and are looking forward to trying more of the menu. read more

They have good food but poor customer service. I received two entrees via DoorDash that I am unable to eat because the restaurant did not follow the special instructions of omitting something I can NOT eat. I called. The guy barely speaks English. He said sorry and then hung up on me. I called back and asked him to send me the correct order and he assured me he would but the order never came. I will never eat here again. I will go where I am taken care of correctly. I can eat subpar food no problem. I am not one to complain. It happens. But bad service like this......no Thankyou! We come here every week for this delicious Indian food! The Curry is tasty and flavorful, as well as the Butter Chicken. I love how hot, soft, and chewy the Naan is! The Tandoori Chicken is delicious! The grilled Onions, Lime, and the roasted peppers are a nice touch, and add more flavor and heat to the entrees. The Lamb and Lentils are delicious! Once I parked and got out of my car I could instantly smell it and it smelled great! The man who greeted me was very friendly and prompt while the menu was laid out easy to find what you'd like. Sadly, I have no pics to share, but let me tell you about this butter chicken!The order was a 16 oz tub along with the same amount of white rice, and it looked like plenty for both my wife and me. Turns out, she was hungrier than expected, so I only had a few bites, but wow--they were some of the best I've ever tasted. The heat level was a mild 1-2 out of 10, which was just right for now, but they did mention they could kick it up a notch. Next time, we're going for more spice! Total cost came to $15.89 after tax, which felt like a great deal given the quality and portion size. Great Indian takeout! We had the lamb vindaloo and the coconut curry chicken with naan. The portions were generous and the food was fresh made. There are some nice tables with an umbrella that was a comfortable and convenient place to eat our orders. We ordered the medium spicy, which was a good level of spice - on the milder side for us, but we'd rather err on the side of mild. The coconut chicken curry was very tasty - didn't seem to have coconut milk but still had a good flavor. The vindaloo was delicious, with nice chunks of potato and lamb. The owner let us sample the rice pudding, but we decided against dessert as we couldn't even finish our entrees. There is regular and Mexican sodas to drink - and any other drinks you want you can get from the convenience store. Will definitely revisit. read more

Found the Tandoori Grill (take-away food truck) by chance traveling south on Government Way coming out of Hayden. What a very pleasant discovery. Really authentic Indian food served fresh and tasty. Great menu, priced right, service was very friendly, and everything was packed up to-go securely. The aloo matar (peas and potato) samosas were delicious. Chicken Tikka was tender, perfectly spiced, and portioned just right. Rice was fluffy and the Butter Naan was cooked in the Tandoor to perfection. The Kheer (rice pudding) was thick and flavorful. The only item missing on the menu was Chai (but the owner said he'll be introducing freshly made Chai masala soon). I found this Food Truck while searching Yelp for the best rated Indian food restaurants in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I ordered over the phone without hesitation and drove to pick up my order. When I arrived, I realized that it was a Food Truck and I was pleased with a chance at a new experience because in my normal nature, I wouldn't have considered a food truck unless it was at a Farmer's Market, festival, a night out on the town, or a catered gathering. I ordered their Lamb Curry, an extra side of rice because I am a known "rice girlie," and their garlic naan. The Lamb Curry was perfectly spiced. The rice is lovely paired but also equally good by itself. Their garlic naan is quite large, and I have enjoyed ordering it with extra garlic as of recent. This has become my very best Indian Food location in Coeur d'Alene. Indian food is my favorite international cuisine. I now drive in from the forest in Blanchard, Idaho which is almost forty minutes away as frequently as weekly to order their Indian dishes. I look forward to trying more of their menu. I almost missed this Food Truck style Indian place. They are very nice folks and the food was awesome. I have been 2 x in 4 days after finding it and craving it already. I have had Shrimp Curry and Vindaloo with Raita and Garlic naan. They were both really good. The flavor was amazing! There is plenty of food.
