Monday night my girlfriend and I dined here and tried a bit of everything. Their platter with chicken and fish were amazing. The coconut curry and mango curry were worth every penny! Love their food, only complaint is wait time it took a while for us to get food but worth a wait. staff is really friendly.

We chose the newly opened Mango Tree in Wichita as a midpoint for family from Missouri and western Kansas to gather with our 98 year old mother/grandmother. Our waitress, Lindsey, was the perfect gracious host, mixing a balance of attentiveness and making us comfortable to enjoy a drawn out meal with visiting. The food was new flavors for the elders who let the experienced younger ones order. We ate family style so each of us could taste everything! Each of us had a different favorite. My family loves this restaurant. The curries are excellent. Their naan selection contains many flavors-my favorites are the butter naan and coconut naan. The biryani is wonderful, and you can select your choice of protein. In addition, you're covered if you are vegetarian or vegan. Go by and enjoy. read more

The Mango Tree has been open for one year now. I am just now trying it. My husband's work group tried it last week to good reviews. Although I enjoy Indian food, the reason I had not tried before now is that Wichita has at least three Indian restaurants with buffets. I like the variety of a buffet especially where food is sometimes a bit spicy. It's nice to be able to get some chai, salad, soup, raita, chutney, tamirand sauce, etc. some naan to cool things down a bit. The Mango Tree is strictly menu based and quite pricey at that. So the lovely side items that I just mentioned are all extra. There is no complimentary naan or chai. Today I ordered just Lamb Biryani (with a spice level of 1 of 5) a Mango Lassi the total is $29 plus tip. The biryani, despite being requested as a 1 is still a bit more spicy than I'd really like. So though the food could be good, there still is no variety at a workable price point and They still need to turn down the Heat on a 1. Therefore, I'm not likely to return frequently. You'll find me enjoying the buffets elsewhere with probably some gulag jamun or kheer to wash it all down. read more

High priced, and only average food in taste, quantity, and quality. Spice Level 4 was barely hot. The naan wasn't puffy as it should be, it was half way between naan and roti in texture. The service was good, but not an Indian staff member in the place. Ambiance was OK, it's a converted burger place but the conversion was reasonable. Far too many TVs for a restaurant, it's a sports bar wannabe. At these prices I expected a lot more. We won't be going back. Great new addition to the south side! I had the Mango Curry with the garlic naan and it hit the spot! The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. For a Friday night, it was busy but not overly packed. You may be able to split a bowl if you aren't terribly hungry. read more
