The Manhattan Project has been on my list to try since it opened and I finally had the opportunity to meet my parents and husband here on a Saturday for lunch. We arrived around 12:30 and the place was all but empty. My mother and I arrived about 10 minutes before my dad and my husband and, despite the servers just standing around, I had to actually flag one down to get water. Once they arrived, service was more prompt. We started with the calamari which I highly recommend. It was cooked perfectly and the chili aioli that it came with was so good! I ordered the roasted tomato grilled cheese and it was huge! Excellent, but huge. Their fries were fine, if a little soggy from the container they're in. I wanted to try the parm truffle fries, but it was a $5 upcharge which I think is crazy high. My mom got the grilled chicken sandwich with the hot honey carrots. The sandwich with the jalapeno ranch was good but the carrots are a skip. They weren't cooked nearly long enough because they were still very crunchy and there wasn't much flavor. Everyone else got burgers with the brussels (also a $5 upcharge) which they really enjoyed. What a delight The Manhattan Project was! After living in Clifton and passing by several times, I finally went with my friend. Our experience: The service was quick and friendly. The food was a bit gluttonous, definitely delicious. First, the fact that they have a special section of their menu just for fries -- yes! We got the parmesan truffle fries. This was such a large serving, but I couldn't stop eating them. And for my dinner, I got the Clifton Burger, made with two smash patties with whipped brie and herbs, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato and fried onion straws. This was a burger! Loved everything on it and would get it again. The vibe here was fun too. It was laid back, with several groups of friends coming together. A definite neighborhood spot. So, we rolled into The Manhattan Project on a Sunday, ready for a culinary blast-off, only to find out we were stuck in the brunch orbit. Not exactly the "regular menu" rocket ride we hoped for--but hey, sometimes you gotta brunch where brunch says brunch. We ordered the breakfast flatbread, chicken and waffle, and a Reuben sandwich. Each was decent enough--not life-changing, but not crying-into-your-kale salad bad either. The chicken and waffle was like a polite handshake from your taste buds, while the Reuben gave you a firm nod, saying "Hey, I'm here." No fireworks, no food explosions--just solid, respectable eats. Service was pretty good; our server wasn't a stand-up comedian, but they got the job done without any crashes or burnouts. Bonus points for patience with our indecision! The bar patio looked like the place to be, complete with a DJ spinning tracks during some Philadelphia Eagles event (go Birds?), but we chilled in a booth inside the bar area--comfort over chaos, you know? Overall, The Manhattan Project is like a reliable class project: you won't get an A+, but it's not a total F either. I stopped by this place for the Louisville Burger Week that I want to try. The service wasn't too bad. It took a while for the server to come by. I quickly order the beer, burger, and side. I have been to The Manhattan Project several times for a variety of things over the years from Trivia back in the day, Suprise Parties, High School Reunions, Birthdays, Football Games, and just to sit at the bar. They really are a one-stop shop for all your needs. Most recently we were in on Sunday for the Eagles vs Packers Playoff Game. If you are not aware TMP is the "official" Eagles hangout for so many in Louisville. They have Game Day Specials for every Eagles game including $1.25 Wings (qty of 6), $5 touchdown shots, $6 winged eagles and $5.25 Yuengling. They also have a DJ at every watch party spinning music during pregame, commercials, halftime as well as the end of the game. When we first arrived, we sat at the front bar since we were way past start time and knew it would be hectic in the back. The bartender greeted us almost immediately and got us drinks. After looking over the menu for a few minutes I noticed the peanut butter & jelly wings which intrigued me, so I asked how they were, and she said they were amazing so I had to give them a try (let me note that I am a traditional wing girly, and always go for the buffalo - the hotter the better) I was even able to order all drums which was a plus! We also ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries which are tossed in truffle oil and parmesan, drizzled with garlic sauce. The food came out fairly quicky and piping hot. Let me just say the wings were so damn good, I was taken by surprise. We paired them with the homemade ranch which probably sounds weird to some, but I promise this flavor combination is where it's at. The Parm fries were good, but the wings were fire. I want some right now actually LOL Once we finished eating, we cashed out and headed to the back to join the party and mingle with some people we knew would be there. The watch party was lit, and so much fun. I highly recommend trying out TMP for any of your needs. Their website lists information about booking the back area for Private Events - The main event space which holds 100+ while seating for 60-70, and an enclosed patio area which holds 50 people, seating 35. There is no room charge but there is a minimum spend which we all know is easy to hit when hosting a large group. read more

Six of us came for football and drinks. We had a few rounds and decided on appetizers. We stayed a little longer and decided to have dinner. Service throughout was great. We never felt rushed. Our server came around often to get orders for drinks etc. They had a large pitcher of water on the table so we could help ourselves. We never ran out. They were able to customize cocktails as we requested. The holiday cocktail menu looked great- many of them had coffee of caffeine in them though. We made the mistake of ordering one late at night and had difficulty sleeping!!! But if you're not caffeine sensitive at night, the peppermint mocha was very tasty. They kinda nickel and dime ya for everything. Example- the sauces for the wings- we asked for three or four sauces for the wings and they charged us $0.50 each. Kinda lame. Otherwise, no complaints. We shared the burger- double patty add egg. Was good but needed a sauce. I know it comes with a sauce but either that sauce was not on it or it was severely lacking in presence. The fries are good. We also shared a salad and added chicken. The chicken was a bit overcooked, being kinda stringy and tough. The salad itself was delicious but the pecans were a bit out of place on the wedge, in my opinion. Parking is limited- there are a few spots in their parking lot, otherwise on the street. Bathrooms are clean. Separate bathrooms for men and women. The place got fairly packed at the night went on but I don't think you need a reservation. read more

We came before happy hour was ending so my friends ordered drinks. They have margarita slushies too! I decided to opt out of alcohol. We shared the pork carnitas nachos while my friend ordered the Clifton burger (Brie, herbs, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, fried onion straws). She got cheese fries with it. The food was just okay. The nachos used shredded cheese and not liquid, which made it hard to pull apart the chips. Nothing spectacular about it except the roasted tomatoes that were seasoned well! My friend liked her burger though it looked pretty standard to me. Her fries had a similar cheese situation as the nachos. Hard to pull apart. They seem short-staffed as the hostess brought out water as well and the bartender was also our waiter. Not a big deal since they never got all that busy. Staff was nice though! They did have a large group of folks in one of the back rooms for a speaking engagement, so they must host events here. Overall, it's a cool hang out space though! We've been coming to TMP for awhile now. Once when it first opened and now basically every Sunday for Eagles games during football season. We've had many things on their menu including the wings and Arancini balls. Both delish! They serve brunch on Sundays until 1 with cheap mimosas! This place is so cool, it's one of my favorites on Frankfort Ave. This is, in my opinion, the best place to watch sports in the city. There's a couple of sections: a sit-down one with lots of booths,/ bar, and a couple TVs by the bar; a more sports bar type section where the seating is more open, the booths each have an individual TV, and another bar; and an indoor/outdoor patio with TV and bar access. I've never been disappointed with any food item here, but I have especially high praises for their specialties. They're specialties for a reason! Their fries and mac & cheese are really exceptional. Their craft cocktails are pretty tasty too! They have tons of events like trivia, game watch parties for the Purdue Boilermakers (Boiler Up!), and can accommodate for private events. We came here on a Sunday Afternoon around 4PM. It was pretty busy for a Sunday but we got sat right away. Server was very friendly and took good care of us. I ordered a mule to drink and my husband and old fashion. Drinks were very good! For an appetizer we got the Nachos. We were starving so they tasted good but I would say they needed more toppings. By the time we ate all the chips on the top the rest of the chips were just naked. That's my only complaint is more toppings but the flavor was good! We loved how the nachos had both pickled jalapeños and banana peppers! For our meals we ordered the Mac and Cheese with add on grilled chicken. It was delicious! Chicken was a little dry by itself but with the Mac and cheese sauce it was perfect! We tried the gluten free phili-cheesesteak pizza. It was very good but it tasted more like a "hamburger" pizza to me than cheesesteak. Overall, good bar food. Expect to spend around $60-$80 if you get food and cocktails. Dress is casual.
