This is the only place I have ever walked out of before getting my food. Everyone else's looked good, but we were immediately sat and our order was taken and at least 30 minutes passed, our drinks emptied, no server returned to update us, she stops by says "food should be up shortly", can she get us anything? OUR DRINKS NEED REFILLED. 14 more minutes pass as now I am vividly watching. I stop another server and ask her to go to the kitchen and get a time as we have already now been waiting AT LEAST 46 minutes for a burger, fries. A side salad and 12 wings. She returns, tells me our food is being prepared. And weakly apologizes and say they had 2 large parties and that food is fresh cooked to order. Are you butchering the chickens? Are you peeling the baby carrots and churning buttermilk for ranch dressing? Why didn't they tell us that? Why didn't a manager walk around and even tell us this? Not a word until 46 minutes has passed. The restaurant wasn't even close to half full and had plenty of servers. What I hoped to be a pleasant stop for lunch was ruined by POOR SERVICE. NO! OK, the good: the chef bowls are good! The rest of the review.. The service is abysmal. Has been for years, never gets better. I keep giving them a shot to see if things improve but they never seem to. Tonight, I came in, sat at the bar. Only one other guy there, apparently a friend of the staff, because everyone just wants to talk to him. I sit for 10 minutes as 4 staff members hover all around the bar and completely ignored. Finally, a redheaded gal from the other bar walks over, asks what I want to drink. I order my meal at the same time. Beer and bowl come out fairly quickly and were good. But that was the last check in I got. No set up (I had to walk around to find napkins). Halfway through the meal my drink was gone, but no chance for a refill. I finish eating, and can't get anyone to check me out. An employee finally had to go find my server because no one else was allowed to hand me the check (weird?). I paid and walked out, and then noticed they up charged me $2 for grain in my bowl which is not on the menu at all (photo attached). What a bad experience, and I feel robbed by then. For $2 I won't make a scene, and I know it'd take me 30 minutes to even get anyone's attention if I went back in. So instead, I'll sit in the parking lot and tell the yelp world. Food is good. Prices are high, they hide up charges and slide them in (so check and question your check), and maybe order 2 drinks at a time because you'll never see your server again based in my multiple experiences. The new menu for 2025 at the TMWF is off the chart. The low country boil, and the steak additions are amazing; the flatbreads and pizzas are also an easy go-to. The staff is invaluable and eager to please. Sometimes, they get slammed all at once, as can happen at any restaurant occasionally, but I understand when these times occur. It was a tiny portion with unseasoned 'steak' bites full of silver skin and no onion or chives sitting in a pool of liquid that I can only imagine they would call cheese sauce. I tried to get a rare burger. It was a tiny hockey puck with underripe tomatoes and my Mac n cheese side had no cheese. Just dry bland elbows. They also seem to not believe in salting their fries. CON: Chicken wings are labeled jumbo but are small and their was a hair in the BBQ... $13 CON: Live music was WAAY too loud... it was acoustic guitar and was so loud I could not hear anything my spouse was saying... literally nothing... even yelling... headache inducing. I play the drums in a band... so there's your reference CON: menu basically warns not to get the hamburgers... take heed... they taste like frozen style bubba burgers... not cooked to order... are well done and honestly not as good as a bubba burger. So the website "honors" reservations. I made a reservation for 6 for my stepsons birthday. We received a confirmation. Upon arrival after driving over an hour, we were told that they don't accept reservations (although we had one) and the wait would be over an hour and a half. We had it out with the manager and she hung up on us. If you expect customer service, this is NOT the place for you! Update: owner responded to my review on Google and said I cussed out his manager and he had it on record. That's a flat out lie because I don't cuss. He is welcome to call me and play it at anytime but he can't because it didn't happen. Not from me anyway. They probably mad a lot of people mad by not honoring reservations confirmed by the website. This is absolutely the most underrated place to eat in Marion. Wing Wednesday is every week for 50c per wing, which is an absolutely steal considering inflation. A ton of $1-1.50 beer choices and craft choices too. I've met the owner on a couple occasions and he was a super nice dude. The quality of the food is great and always comes out quick and hot. Fries are amazing and wings and great. I've tried just about all of the seasonings they offer and most are amazing. Shit the bed will have you on the floor for sure so I don't know about their challenge. Seems intense, and I have a spicy palate. The last thing I wanted to mention (but absolutely, definitely not least) are the wait staff. The women working here are some of the best in service I've received here or Rutherfordton and I highly commend their attention to detail and your overall experience as a customer. Service was fantastic!!! The food took a little bit of time to get, which they tell you up front because nothing is pre-made, but it was absolutely worth the wait. We got wings, a couple of chicken sandwiches, and I got the burger with chili, onions and slaw. It was hands-down one of the absolute best burgers I've ever eaten. My grandson and I ate here on Aug 5. They had added booths, a plus, and the service was great. BUT the food was unacceptable. Carter ordered honey Barbq wings, but came out as buffalo sauce wings. And my hamburger was as hard as a hockey puck, dry as a bone. When I asked the server if it was possible to get a burger besides well-done, she said no. I ask her to please ask the cook. This was our second time visiting Marion, NC this year and had to return to the Wing Factory. If you like your wings Jumbo and a little crispy with fantastic flavors, this is for you. They have a great selection of wet and dry rub flavors. They even have Cauliflower "wings" for the vegetarians. I tried one and they were pretty awesome. Lots of great burgers, sandwiches and Mac & Cheese bowls. The appetizer egg rolls and the basket of taters are outstanding. Nice selection of draft beer on tap as well. Absolutely wonderful experience. Emily is stellar and Cody is very invested in taking care of their patrons. Having an allergy to gluten was taken very seriously and I was able to eat and feel safe in doing so. The traditional wings (extra crispy) were amazing. Never been here before 5 weeks ago but since then we have been back 5 times. I'm not sure what the older reviews are about with portions and pricing because everything was large to me and the prices for what you get were really good for the amount of food. Wings were great. The crispy cheesecurds were a great surprise. They come with a caramel sauce that reminds me of a chicken and waffles taste oddly enough. I order ranch on the side to switch to after the sweetness gets too much for me because they give you so many. I love that they do a percentage off for veterans and officers. Im a disabled veteran with hearing loss (among other things) which did play a part in coming here one time. I went here in a group of 4 and left because the only "seats" available were directly in front of the live band although there were bigger "tables" further away, they didn't have seats and the wait staff didn't want to take the time to move the seats from the large tables directly in front of the band to further away to accommodate. They were slammed at the time and so we just went somewhere else. Other than that one hiccup it's a great place to eat. read more
