    Small spinach and arugula salad

Popular local eatery where we enjoyed a group dinner al fresco. Wait on a Tuesday night was ~20-25 minutes at the height of dinner rush. Everyone enjoyed their meals: small salad with golden beets (came with an excessive amount of salad dressing), Buffalo chicken wrap, flat bread, fried green tomatoes with potato pancake (a surprisingly heavy meal), and shrimp and grits (she wished the grits had not been fried). Plus generous pours of white wine. Friendly server-- hope we weren't too much trouble. We would definitely come back--we heard the trout is divine.

    Blackberry Pork Chop

Service and ambiance was successful once again (my compliments to the bartender). After having a garden salad with citrus berry vinaigrette, which was the tartest vinaigrette I've ever had, I got the Blackberry Pork Chop entree, which was a large bone-in pork chop covered in blackberry BBQ sauce, served with a sweet potato hash and garlic green beans. The beans could have used a little more garlic but were still cooked properly and the hash nicely combined regular potatoes with sweet potatoes (i.e. the crunchy and soft textures). The pork was cooked perfectly, as the inside was glistening with those juices, and the texture melted in my mouth. The blackberry BBQ sauce gave it a great sweetness. Overall, this is how to celebrate one's 100th Yelp review!!!

This was a great little café as you enter black Mountain, North Carolina. Incredible spot to eat and then afterwards walk around and shop. Plenty of things there to catch your eye from clothing to records to sports gear to local hardware store stores. I had the Reuben on gluten-free bread, which was one of the better Rubens I've ever had in my life. My son ended up ordering a kid burger, which was actually an adult size hamburger and my wife had to have sandwich and soup. Prices were completely fair and reasonable. This place is tucked away next to the town visitor center back in the woods and has a very cabin like feel. We will absolutely be back next time we're in Black Mountain..

Cute place w excellent food and choices!

What a great place! The food was fresh and hot, the portions large and the ambiance and service excellent! Fried green tomatoes were out of this world and the trout w asparagus was phenomenal! Excellent place for lunch or dinner we loved it here and went back a day later! What a great place!

Great food, service, competitive price. We're regulars here and have never had a bad meal. Wide variety of menu items and pricing. Generous servings. Love the turkey and dressing but went for steaks this trip.

My family and I came here for dinner and we all enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service. Although it was pretty busy, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the poke bowl which was more like a grain/Buddha bowl in my opinion since it had sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, and mushrooms which are not typical poke bowl ingredients. Regardless, it tasted good, although I was disappointed that they forgot to add chicken as I had requested.

Fried dill pickle spear appetizer and lavender lemon martini.

We ate here two nights in a row. The food choices were excellent from southern fare (turkey and dressing) to Italian (pesto pasta) to a smash burger with fried dill pickles and a crab cake sandwich to name a we delicious few. The lavender lemon martini was perfectly mixed. Don't forget dessert - chocolate cake to key lime pie to mixed berry pie.

We really like the atmosphere... very open feeling with a classy country design. The food is very good and plentiful. The fish and chips have some of the best breading. I've tasted on fried fish. Turkey and dressing is very well plated and displayed and tastes amazing. This is our first time here and it was a delight. Casual ambience with an upscale twist to country cuisine.. I really like what they've done here... This is a great go to in Black Mountain.

Had to show you what the Goat Cheese Chicken Wrap looked like with its strawberry slices, chicken pieces, etc.

Staff was warm and welcoming. Soup was cold. Mac and cheese was good. Chili was very thick and hearty. We were happy they were open late.

It was ok. Nothing special on the menu. Food was average. Service was decent. Kids pizza was obviously a heated frozen item from Ingles.

Food was just okay with fried food such as sweet potato fries and fish and chips not being crispy. However, great service and atmosphere.

    Can I wear jeans?

    Yes we are casual!

    Do. They take reservations?

They do for parties of six or more. I went there recently and I have to say it wasn't good. It may have been a fluke or a bad day, but I would recommend going elsewhere.

You'll…read moreavoid a lot of the tourist traffic here with its unique vibe, and you'll come away with a memory of "that cute British pub" when it's all over. NOTES: -This place is run on bare bones staff. I'd guess maybe two cooks and the single server. It is not a place to come if you need quick service or quick food. They're very friendly (even if you're not a local!), but definitely come when you have a lot of extra time. -This place is not accessible in the slightest. You'll need to go up two flights of very steep stairs to make it to the front door. The stairs are on the old side, and I was concerned about one breaking. There is no elevator. -The parking lot is relatively small and shared with a nearby Urgent Care. It's gravel and grass, and people mostly made their "own" spot where they wanted. As this made for a haphazard parking lot with small margins for cars, I wouldn't let a newer driver park here. PROS: -Lots of unique British dishes. We've never seen somewhere serving Bubbles and Squeak and lots of other dishes. If you're not familiar with niche British dishes, you'll probably have to pull out your cell phone to figure out what some of this stuff is - and that's really fun. -Food is really good. It tastes like food-your-mom-would-make instead of gourmet takes on these dishes. It has a really authentic, small business vibe to it. -Unique beers on tap too. You aren't going to find Bud Light or Miller Lite on tap here. All of their beers are unique pub fare. They do offer some of the American favorites in a can/bottle, but this is a great excuse to try beers you wouldn't normally have access too. -Despite the older age of the building, the bathrooms are very modern and very clean. Most gas station bathrooms are in worse shape than the ones here. CONS: -It's definitely a small, "small margins" business, and all of the cons that go along with that. Food took awhile, upcharge for using a credit card, non-focal dishes may have been frozen/reheated/canned, and parking was difficult. That all being said, we're looking to come back again, and the atmosphere (and the taste of their unique star dishes) make it one of those places you'll actually talk about when you're done with your trip instead of forgetting that morning you simply went to Denny's to scarf down pancakes.

Good choices. Limited food but for tourist area very nice vibe…read more Drinks high though and no specials I believe it will be better
