    Everything dog.

Is it a destination location, surely not. However if you're strolling the park in the 77th street area it's definitely worth a few extra steps to get one. Then gentlemen operating the cart on the day of our visit was not only one of the nicest New Yorkers ever, but just an overall friendly human being. The dog is super snappy, beefy and the cucumber, kraut, kimchee, chipotle mayo sauce was a killer combo. Add in some great people watching......as you watch the elite stare down their nose at you as you scarf hot dogs while they hop into Rolls Royces......PRICELESS!

This is a fun spot! If you're in the mood for a hot dog and you're in the area, I recommend stopping by. I see other reviewers commented on the value, and to be honest I thought this wasn't a bad deal. You can get your hot dog topped with homemade pickles, mustard, ketchup, chipotle mayo, kimchi and sauerkraut, all for $6. In my view, this is way better than the hot dog you'd get up the block on the perimeter of the park. The man serving the hot dogs today was very nice! I'd return.

Delicious hot dog with great service! Also got the hot chocolate which was a little more than I would have expected, but rich, creamy, and delicious nonetheless!

The dog has a nice bite, great flavor. Served with homemade pickled cucumbers and kimchi, perfect. The little dude serves quickly on a steamed bun, it's a hotdog done right.

    The cutest cart.

I am not one for street meat. I don't care for hot dogs. I don't like eating while walking. I am not a good candidate for any of the carts around Central Park. But a hot dog from Jean-Georges? I'm listening. And I did more than listen - I ate and enjoyed (very much!) this thing. The cart is adorable. The ambiance is otherwise attributable to The Mark itself. The gentleman manning the cart was lovely, and even gave me extra pickles after I devoured the ones he originally set beside my hot dog. They were really good! If anything will convert me to a street meat eater, it will be this hot dog.

Fun way of exploring NY! The people were so friendly and nice. Definitely a cheaper way to have lunch vs finding a crowded restaurant.

Love these dogs!! Love the gentleman who serves them. I live about 17 blocks away and stop at least once a month for my two dog lunch.

They sell a chicken dog and a beef dog, and their toppings include: kimchi, German cabbage, and sauerkraut - and it's all organic.

There are a list of free toppings and some toppings cost. The signs are very straightforward. This is not a sit down place. There's a place to stand and eat but that's about it. It would have been more pleasant but there was a person asking for handouts around one of the exits. Not a place to park.. so walk there. Work up your appetite. Yum.

Long ago, when I was a fresh-faced ad agency intern, I spent a summer in a dorm room at NYU. With…read moreno interest in cooking, I remember becoming a semi-regular at the Gray's Papaya located at 6th Ave and 8th St and always ordering the Recession Special: two dogs loaded with onions and a papaya drink. It wasn't the best quality frankfurter, but somehow it worked with my indiscriminate palette. Flash forward a century or so, and this is the only Gray's Papaya left in the city. Since I'm a survivor, I thought it only appropriate to take Jamie to the original flagship location and order what else but the Recession Special. Sure enough, they still offer it for $7.50. It was $1.95 when I was a child, but it's still a good deal consisting of 2 Hot Dogs (Photo 10) and a Medium Papaya Drink (Photo 9). The franks were the same as I recall, nothing special but if you add onions and pay an extra 75 cents for the chili, it just works. The papaya drink is not a fruit juice but a puree mixed with sugar and milk. It actually complements the dog in a guilty pleasure kind of way. There was a line but it moved fast. Plenty of room at the red mini-counter, so I was able to relive my youthful dining dalliance with little effort. FOOD / DRINK - 4 stars...forgive me for I have sinned AMBIANCE - 3 stars...looks the same as it did in the last century SERVICE - 4 stars...they're quick and not rude...decide what you want before you order TOTAL - 4 stars...hope it survives RELATED - Hungry in NYC? While food took awhile, we were no in a rush and the employees were friendly. The crif burger and New Yorker were too basic for me, but I enjoyed the elote topping for the elote dog. The tots were a nice side to pair with your meal. There's nothing like some hot dogs and burgers before/after drinking, so it's a smart pairing being next to all the bars. Would I come here solely for the hot dogs and burgers? Probably not. But it works great together with PDT.

The crif is pork and beef, New Yorker (all beef) and veggie option. I did a New Yorker (all beef) $4.75 with sauerkraut ($0.75) and the Spicy Redneck which featured a bacon wrapped crif dog with chili, coleslaw and picked jalapeños. Both satisfied the hot dog craving I had. There are also tater tots and burgers available. The bread was a bit stale, hence the 3 stars and the bun split on my New Yorker making it messy to eat. The woman behind the counter was friendly and suggested I try the dog featured this month- featuring a fried pickle or the Tsunami which has teriyaki sauce and pineapples. I would stop here again if in the area, but for basic dog a cart will hit the spot.
